@@TRUCKINGTIPSDIY the door panel recess part is trim, nothing structural. If you add a seal behind the speaker and where it meets the exterior will also increase performance of the speaker.
You should just cut that piece out bro I'm gonna get these same ones and also buy a basket for the speaker to set I and a small foam ring to place between door and speaker so all the sound goes into the Cab instead of a bit of loss through back side of door I'm an audiophile
Anyone know what size speaker is in the door of a 2020 cascadia. I also can't see how to open up the door to get to the speaker to measure it. it's not the same as this version. I can't find the info out anywhere. Even the truck manual doesn't say a thing. ty
Call your local Freightliner dealer and ask for Parts. Anyone in the parts deptmartment can look up the exact part. You will need to give them the last 6 digits in your truck's VIN so they get it right.
@@chilar6 They are 6x9, and you will need a new radio and maybe an amp if you really want to overcome the road noise. You might need a wire harness for the new radio, Freightliner sells them. I'm about to change out everything on mines because I can barely hear music while driving. The factory radio keeps going out and turning itself back, and it is driving me crazy. These trucks are damn near 150k new, and they have the nerve to put extremely cheap ass stereos in them with no quality.
Hey nice speakers for it well I have a question I was told my truck had a amp but I don’t k ow if they all have amps did you change yours or bypass it thanks
I wouldn’t install these speakers because the speakers push against the motor that opens and closes the window and the window barely goes back up. Rockford fosgate make a 5.25 called R1 and they 60bucks for 2 and sound good and won’t cost more money replacing window motors.
Its good for what it is but basically all 5.25 speakers don’t have much punch. I recommend the fosgate for the freightliners over the jL based on the magnet not being so big that it effects the windows going back up after you open it.
I was driving when i wrote that comment lol,, i have a 500 JL audio amp, and a W6 jl audio sub,, I'll make a video soon, ate you planing on installing on you truck?

Surprised you didn't just cut the door panel recessed part away 🤔 to keep the speakers mounted flush in stock location and trim.

Do the fosgate'' door speakers fit flush??
I returned the jL audios and bought Rockfords and they fit perfectly and sound just as good

Cut the plastic at the back of the speaker box
Mine has rivets holding the speaker how do I remove those rivets ?
You can drill it, use a small drill bit and drill right in the center, rivit sould come off
