FD is one of the most thoughtful, persuasive, and emphatic thinkers on RUclips (and perhaps more generally). His comment section is also one of the rare great places for discussion on this platform, with a lot of great discourse to be found below his videos as well as within. Great breakdown, Professor! Love this new series.
Thank you for turning us on to this RUclipsr. His work is very insightful and helpful. You are right about some excellent content on RUclips if you’re looking for it. The video about Hip Hop and big time wrestling really put things in perspective for me.
As a PhD student who happens to be struggling to complete the review of a paper today - damn synonyms to find for a repeated word in a paragraph - I want to thank you for making me reflect on alternative ways of knowledge dissemination and exposing us to new quality content - being it music, movies or a RUclips channel - with your contagious enthusiasm, wits and thoughtfulness. I'm glad I discovered your channel.
I’ve been watching/listening to him for the last two or three weeks. He’s showed up in my feed a lot since he did a video with Fantano about heavy metal. Been very into his “manosphere” videos.
Good to hear more people appreciating his work! Since the moment I watched a first video of his I was blown away with how good it was compared to how little viewers he got at the time. Definitely agree with a lot of the observations about his work you made.
When the system's rigged, it's natural to feel helpless at the plight of the oppressed. The second half was just as great as the first, maybe even better. You a thoughtful dude Skye!
As a white dude that wanted to step up on being a proper ally, I found FD last year. Instead of simply saying "I'm not racist because I call out racism", I wanted to put more effort into it and learn about context that I am not privvy to. FD has done a great job of breaking things down in a way that I can understand and reflect on what I should or should not be doing. The other day this video popped up, and it was really refreshing to see another academic validate that FD knows what he's talking about. It's one thing to say that FD has both a historical footing as well as a lived in experience with racial issues; it is another thing all together to point out that FD is able to make fantastic connections and should be treated with respect. The current age of autodidacts learning from youtube is great, but plauged with a bunch of grifters making pseudointellectual arguments. So to hear that FD is making academic style arguments and to have it verified by another academic is fantastic. It helps when I show FD's content to other laymen that I can give him the gold star from another academic. In particular, when I am trying to show someone that they are in fact being racist, having a white guy vouch for the content helps. Regardless, I just subbed and look forward to your deep dive on hip hop!
you may say the first part was better, but the last part about never being able to be an ally is very important as well. not just for white people, but for non-black poc such as myself. also, i was subscribed to FD first so i guess you'll just have to deal with me subscribing to you now too 😜
Thanks for shedding light to other who may not be aware of his content. It's of paramount importance for our collective society to willing learn the importance of showing compassion. While allowing reasonable grace when having uncomfortable conversations. How else will we grow with the level of urgency needed to absolve our negligence thus far? In short, get comfortable being uncomfortable for the betterment of others and ourselves.
My ventures into the available catatalogue continue. The scraggly beardsesness seems to have existed even in this alloted publishing time frame. It seems I must venture farther to gain an empirical origin (?) if any. (avaa)
I feel so fortunate to have access to FD's videos, especially since graduating and leaving the academic sphere. His analysis is always top tier and I'm very happy to see him get the kind of audience he deserves. I'm sure he is going to keep growing on youtube and it's going to be wonderful to be there cheering on the sidelines.
As a professor, how do feel academia is handling education lately? To me it seems like higher education has become more corporate vs educational. Plus, there never seem to be enough jobs (much less well-paid jobs) for anyone wanting to pursue teaching. Edit: Here after finding Fiq's videos. I've definitely learned an incredible amount...which just shows how ignorant I was. It's refreshing to have such insightful dissections of issues I never knew I should be aware of.
AVAA, Recently I ran by a substack article headlined "why I'm not calling myself an activist anymore". The article was behind a paywall, but I imagine it's been in my subconscious for a while. Your comment about F.D. not being a feminist just made it click, be careful of the self-identified :0
I don’t know you but I like that you can literally sit and just think and converse and when you speak it feels authentic you got an subscriber keep it up.
Yea he is awesome I found him through another RUclipsr Khadija Moore she gave him a shout out and people found him and she had a fairly big following..her analysis are amazing too...I hope you are able to find other black creators as well And it dosent hurr he's easy on the eyes lol ijs

he briefly brought him up in a previous video, can’t really remember which and if it was on this channel
You can have a secondary specialty in hip-hop music?!?!? Wow. I love that so much.
Hi Victory! Just watched your video on the toxic relationship between black people and the military. Great work 👌
@@entropyinreverse Thank you! I appreciate it. Congratulations on becoming a Lil Vic 🥳🤎
FD is one of the greats! I'm sure I only found your channel because of the title of this video. Thanks for this video!

Funny. Why would FD do a video on Jay-Z’s Tiffany commercial?
Why not?
интересненько
Have you heard that you kinda look like Woody Harrelson yet? If not I'm saying it now.
i like his youtube channel but his twitter is unbelievably obnoxious
he has the worst takes on music
No.
We didn't need a yt man to tell us this.
Who do you think he was addressing?
Why ? This man is reaching a potential new audience that might benefit from FD signifier videos . He's being genuine.
We want everyone to be educated
Tell me you hate men without telling me you hate men 😆
