    Thanks a lot! A great concert, You’ve made me happier today. Sometimes the pandemics crushes our soul and it gives us the wrong feeling of a pain that would never go away. But then, there’s the presence of God in the magic sound you take from this guitar and we become sure that God is rigth here at our side enduring this suffering with us: He is present in your talent , in your gifts. That’s great! So, amigo, thanks for sharing this wonderful gift of yours with us! Life is here, light is here! Thanks amigo ! Gos bless you forever !

    A great programme full of surprises, leaving me with too much to say. Last piece with staples: I had thought LAGQ invented that idea. Really nice tribute piece to Mays, the arranger of PMG. I have thought his unison lines with Metheny were a bit like Irish melodies. The bootlegger/immigrants' pieces: maybe a potential successor to the "echoes of the old world" cd: "baptisms of the new world"? And there I was thinking I never heard the 2nd Cuban folk tune before, forgetting that I have a cd called Caribbean Souvenirs and it is track no.2. Lesson learnt: I must listen to my guitar cds more often.

      Thank you, Maestro, for such a delightful recital. I love the way you move from the relatively familiar to the newer repertoire.
      Is the Bach your own transcription? Greetings from the UK

    • @kanengiser

      Thanks Donald. I should have given credit, but the arrangement of the Bach is from Frank Koonse's wonderful new publications of the Six Cello Suites. His New book of the Violin Sonatas and Partitas is also wonderful.

      Thanks for the heads up about the new Koonce editions. I use his Renaissance and Baroque books all the time and bought a copy of the Bach 1st lute suite for my godson.
      I am counting the minutes for the Metheny CD but wondered about the other recording of Hedges etc.

      Greetings Mr Kanengiser, I noticed that you have your 6th and 4th strings flipped from its "traditional" tuning gear placement. Is that to aid in deepening the break angle of the 4th string and/or to shallow the break angle of the 6th string? Is it for better tuning stability? Thanks so much. Your playing is fantastic as usual!

  • @Zadrigo
    @Zadrigo 3 года назад +1

    Maestro, you should upload your playing of Fandango by Dionisio Aguado or Grand Solo by Fernando Sor to your channel, and other stuff. I play those at least 10 times per day and it would be nice if you would get the views instead of some random guys. You have Brooklyn Boogie and Presto from Koyunbaba from the same concert on your channel, I suppose you have other videos as well. Thank you for everything!

    When are you going to play a few hymns? I am sure that Christians would love to hear you play The Old Rugged Cross, What A Friend We Have in Jesus, The Wonder of It All, Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling, etc. How about it, William?

  • @Tubbeeer
    @Tubbeeer 2 года назад +1

    Hi William! Thx a lot for that :-) One Question about your guitar-stringing: Why did you wind the bass strings the other way around? So I mean the E-string attached to the upper peg and the D-string to the lower. Sound reasons or an oversight? ... :-) Cheers Bernd

    Lots of student pieces played at a mediocre level at best. This is as bad as the Tennant concert.
    My goodness guys, are you just way past your prime and going back to what you played in your teenage years?
    Playing student pieces that sound like you've been playing a guitar for just a few years.
    Sound of the guitar is very sterile and artificial in my headphones.
