My absolute favorite Cranberries song. It's not deep or complicated, it's just a simple love song, but it's so perfect.

The music for it was written by an Asian singer but cranberries sped it up for their version. The lyrics were original though.
Has anyone seen “Derry Girls”? This is the theme song. Watching that and hearing this on there…so much nostalgia! I feel like every middle school dance someone brought The Cranberries CD. Aww. So fun to see y’all react the same way I did.

Aw, I love this song, takes me back to a sweeter time, it’s the first Cranberries song I ever heard, I fell in love with them, only the independent radio station played them at first and it wasn’t enough so I went out and bought the cassette tape, loved all of it… Dolores O’Riordan was a bright star gone way too soon 🌌💫 the day she died was the same my mom had a massive stroke, and life as we knew it died too...

Yes ... that song is so underrated. So beautiful. It's easily my 2nd favorite Cranberries song to Zombie, despite really liking many others as well.

Why is it under-rated? It is always listed in their top five songs, usually #4, right behind Dreams, Zombie, and Linger. I've seen it ranked as high as #2
@@allenwhitmer8192 Because most people have heard of those 3 songs and no one I've ever talked to has heard about Ode to My Family. (obviously different for bigger fans of the Cranberries) I've introduced that song to a lot of people after they say how much they like Zombie, or after I hear Linger on their playlist. Haven't yet encountered someone that already knew it.
All three of those songs had a crazy amount of radio play back in the day. Not so much for Ode.
The lead singer of Iron Maiden is the pilot for that touring air bus himself! There is a video that shows him landing the plane in the beginning of the video! Check it out!

Do "Ode to family" next. Dolores is one of my favourite singers and I'm not Irish. Lots of great Irish singers, the accent does it. Dolores is probably not as good live. Sinéad O'Connor is probably a better singer, technically speaking judging by the epic Troy and amazing Mandinka, but I agree, I'd rather have Dolores sing me a lullaby.
There are many great voices in music history. There are only a few that sound like a musical instrument. Dolores is one of those. She has voice I would pay to hear read a Burger King menu aloud
