I'm 68 and still swoon over the most gorgeous man that ever lived. I still listen to the PF music. Very sad to learn that he wasn't as happy as he made us. RIP beautiful boy.
It's so unfortunate that such a talented man who brought joy to so many was unable to enjoy his success and much of his life. His death was tragic, and David is truly missed because, contrary to what he believed, he did matter. 35:02
Everything Chip is saying that David says is because of intense child abuse trauma. I feel so sorry for him to hear how low his own idea of himself was and clearly his vicious father's sick narcissistic abuse. No one comes out sane and emotionally well balanced when a Narc is your parent! It is a very sad and well known story not just in show business but in dysfunctional families worldwide. RIP David Cassidy and I pray you found self worth, understand just how gifted and loved you were and still are. Shine on STAR! xxx♥
I agree with you Shawn M Cohen. It was because of his vicious father's sick narcissistic abuse. No it must of affected David so bad having a Narcassistic Father. David thought he was never good enough. Jack never ever hugged him and he was so jealous of his own soon and was always putting David down. When Jack set the apartment on fire and David wasn't talking to his Father Jack died. David must have felt so terrible and guilty knowing that he wasn't talking to his Dad. You are so loved and missed David. You were such an amazing talented man David. Xxx❤️❤️❤️
Im so lucky to have grown up in a time to cherish the most gorgeous David Cassidy. If he only knew the love he didnt get from his father, he would have in his world wide fans. I wish the industry would retitle all his songs "David Cassidy" and The Partridge Family and give him the recognition he is due. Fascinating interview.
A Great Interview with Chip Deffaa about David Cassidy. Thank you David Ghosty Wills for your interview and your choice of David Cassidy’s music to compliment the interview relevant to the milestones of Davids Life. He left a Legacy of Love and Light and Talent and one we here at the Cassidy Rose continue to Share in his Memory ❤️🌹❤️
Such a sad, lonely and tragic life that David had. It just breaks my heart for what he went through. I believe his life of a star did damage him. You are loved and missed David.
Thank you faring the stuff about David Cassidy when people are acting they always think they’re the person that they are in their thing and most of the cases they are not like anything they person they played on TV good or bad it’s just hard to imagine when you’re playing in person on TV that how different your life is in real life but I get it because everybody’s just a actor or actress playing a part and David Cassidy was a great actor when people died he was the same person that he played on the show so I get it thank you for sharing this stuff❤
My heart, once again, breaks for David... He wanted to love his father so much, but Jack wouldnt let him, or couldnt. It followed him throughout his life and destroyed him... Sounds like David suffered from depression and/or another mental illness. Jack was bi-polar and they say that it runs in families. I have lived my life with both issues and I understand him not having joy. Serotonin and dopamine receptors dont work correctly hence, sadness.... People thinks mental illness can be shaken off or isnt real... It is... Its a horrible life and I wish I didnt have to live this way.... I love you David..... You rest now and worry no more.
He needed professional help the moment he went into shock when Jack revealed the divorce to him. No one in his life at that time seemed to realize that. So a small child had to process this emotional avalanche all by himself. And so there was no processing, no healing. It finally took him out in the end. 😢
Chip's book is the only place i've found a bit of insight about the solo records, and his late 70's tv show. I get into specific details on my YT channel: Down Pepper Tree Lane....enjoy!
You must’ve edited your comment before I had a chance to reply to what you originally wrote. This is one of several segments about David Cassidy. I interviewed Louise Poynton about her book on David as well, I also interviewed David at one point which is also on my channel.
It's so frigen heartbreaking to now know all of this, I did know some of it but I didn't know how unhappy he truly was with his life. He probably should not have gone into show business. Obviously, it didn't bring him much joy. Now everytime I watch his videos I can't help thinking was he happy or was it an act, I wish I hadn't listened to this. His fans love him to this day and if they haven't listened to this which I hope they don't. I'm in shock, I'm one of those fans, making David Cassidy an idol was the worst thing they could have done, I'm afraid 😢😢😢😢😢😢
@@susannecardoza4556David’s fans love him to no fault. They are loyal. They want to know every deep dark and top of the moon detail. None of it changes how we feel about him. All of it makes us feel closer to him. Everyone wanted better for him and his I help him. I am very thankful for this interview and Chip’s priceless, valuable information and insight into David, that we would never know. I understand that you wish you only knew the STORIES” that David told us. As horribly sad as it is, I am glad to know the truth. I hope he is in heaven, happy and full of unmeasurable joy and love like he always wanted.
i think chip deffaa well over stepped his journalism values in his divulging info that was not included in the book. I have heard him say that what was said in privacy and would remain that way. This crossed the line, and he should be ashamed of his gold digging.
