    I remember Derek Anderson shooting technical foul shots in the final four I believe it was,against Arizona but he had a torn ACL and it was just a “morale” boost to put him in there to shoot the T’s,which was a good move on Rick’s part but yeah,what a squad we had from 96-98,stacked

    Derek Anderson was hurt. I was 16 years old at that game. There was a technical free throw in the Minnesota game. Derek came out to shoot the free throw. One of the best moments in Kentucky history.

  • @Ryan_Rants
    @Ryan_Rants Месяц назад

    The storyline is crazy. It would essentially be Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader's character arc. Do the right thing in the end and win it for the team you should have never left. He would be motivated more than anyone. He has maybe 4-5 years left. He knows that. To come full circle and win one at Kentucky, that is a legacy boost. Not to mention it would give him the second most chips of any UK coach, putting him ahead of Calipari. I know the two were friendly and had a radio chat a few years back, but that hatchet ain't so deep you can't dig it up. Trust me. Pitino would have UK a contender in year one. The talent he could get their through recruiting and the portal would be much more than he has had since he was first at UK. However, that is irrelevant because no one is a better player developer or coach. The man could take a sack of potatoes to a Final Four. He is the man for the job and could allow us to figure out a long term replacement while he is there. The story is too good. It makes sense. Make it happen.

    Rick is Not going to UK. He's an honorable guy and is going to stay at St John's. Of course he was going to leave Iona and Iona knew that, but they said to themselves " Lets take Rick foe a few years and upgrade - but he'll be leaving at some point in the near future"

    Here's a little secret -- the job just isn't top-tier appealing as it was even a few years ago......dial up Nebraska football and IU hoops for living in the past.

     You UK fans need a REALITY CHECK. Since Tournament Expansion to 64 teams in 1985 (39 years ago), these 6 programs have won the most National Championships ….since 1985: UCONN 6, DUKE 5, NORTH CAROLINA 4, KANSAS 3, KENTUCKY 3, VILLANOVA 3. Of your 8 championships, 4 of them came in the 1940s and 1950s. IN THE LAST 66 YEARS, KENTUCKY HAS 4 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. UConn has won 6 in 25 years. Kentucky has won 4 in 66 years. Kentucky fans over value their program. Furthermore, in the 1940s, the NIT Champion was considered the “True” National Champion not the NCAA Champion. So in reality, UK has 6 National Championships, not 8.
