Haha thank you!!
The fishing self-portrait is definitely in the top 10 of all your frames...well done, and being out and secluded is exactly why I moved to "the forest" outside of Yamhill, Oregon. I write this sitting in a nestle of trees behind me on my LTE laptop while a momma Robin is feeding her babies, and I can't wait to sit out here tonight and gaze at the stars. This is the way ;)
Thank you very much, Patrick! And your setup sounds absolutely ideal. I agree, it is the way! Cheers.
You rapidly became my favorite photographer on RUclips. Not too serious, chill vibe, your photography, filming and editing is top notch. One of the reasons why I am now on my first solo photography trip is you. I've watched all your trip videos, hope you will do more in the future. Thanks dude!
That's so cool to hear! Thanks for the kind words. I try not to take things too seriously haha. Looking to have some good experience with my friends and family, and if I get some good photos along the way, that's great. Cheers!
Almost didn't hit this but the thumbnail pulled me in - so glad I dude. Vibes are immaculate in this dude. The self portraits were next level as well!
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed!
Dude... you just had me jaw dropped watching you semi-casually walk into that bloody half-frozen water - I felt shivers all the way here eh :,D
Hahah coldest water I've ever been in!!
This is your year bud.
“I don’t have high expectations” and nails it. 🤙🏼🤙🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you haha!
There’s something very magical about looking up and seeing the Milky Way and realizing your are a small, but important part of the universe. I was expecting Yoda to come out and greet you while you were out at night😂
Haha couldn’t agree more!
brilliant journal mate. seeing the milky way with your naked eye is someone everyone should experience. it's very humbling.
Thank you! And I couldn't agree more. It was a very profound experience.
bro your self portrait diving at the end is so so sick. another great story and video dude.
Thank you man. Much love hope all is well!
You've done it again, man, with a near-perfect video. Really wonderful images, good commentary, nice soundtrack, great b-roll, smooth editing. Everything a photo video should be. Well, other than your fishing skills I suppose. My wife and I really enjoyed watching this one. Well done.
Thank you very much, Frank! Give my fishing abilities a few months... haha!
Great, umm... photography 😳 as always!! Gotta keep coming back for these always.😊
Haha thank you!
These documentary style outdoor videos are unmatched!
Thank you, Bob! Some of my favorite to make.
That fishing self portrait in an amazing shot 👏 Great video man
Thanks :)
Dang, that 50 minutes exposure turned out pretty cool! And the light in the fishing self portrait is just perfect!
Thank you! Really pleased with both of those shots.
Wow, a wonderfull Tour and pictures...., for me some of the best of you !
Thank you!
Another classic mate, beautiful.
Thanks, Chris!
Amazing lakes! Amazing video and photos! Especially the fishing self-portrait. Your videos never disappoint me.
Thank you very much!
He got the flippin shot... what a legend.
a miracle haha
Just incredible work my friend.
Thank you, sir!
Hiking with a 67 is quite an undertaking but those images were worth it.
It is brutal but I just love that camera too much not bring it haha!
your videos are aspirational as someone who's just starting out on RUclips. Also you nailed that jump photo!
Thanks, Seth!
Such a lovely video! What an awesome adventure. I love that self portrait fishing. 🌞
Thank you :)
Been waiting for your another video since your last adventure. Great video as always!!!
Thanks, Brent!
Early gang! Love your backpacking trips man, keep it up
Thank you dude!
Really enjoyed this one! Dive turned out great too. Loved the self portraits. You’ll really appreciate those pics later in your life. Great job as usual.
Thanks man!
we need a backpacking self portrait book
It’s happening!
Fantastic! This elevates the spirit.
I'm glad to hear that :)
Excellent work.
Thank you!
ever since I started watching your videos I've tried to share them to others in hopes of spreading your way of shooting with the intention for yourself, rather than others/social stuff, I can't express how much I love your content. a constant inspiration of ideology and mentality. thank you!!
also p.s. don't know if you caught any but if not you might have better luck with tenkara/fly fishing 👀
One of your best. My friends and I always say your “B roll” of video clips almost surpass the film shots. Keep up the incredible work.
Thanks, David. Appreciate it 👊🏼
Really enjoyed watching and the photos were top notch. Glad I stumbled onto your channel. Cheers!
Thank you for taking the time to watch!
New video!! Yes!!! 🔥
🤠
something you do well that i want to get better at is your use of NDs for film photos and video alike. it looks so nice 👌🏼
NDs are a huge game changer! Didn't realize the difference they can make in your still images also.
nailed that selfie
Haha stoked it came out
it was a pleasure to watch ✨✨ thank you :)
Glad you enjoyed!
these are unbelievable
Thanks, Tom!
this is brilliant. almost like a video-journal. great film shots as always, really high-quality video.vibes are through the roof. i've also gotten skunked fishing snow lake man! tight lines!
Thanks, Anthony!
Did Snow Lake right before it closed for maintenance this season. Have to go back and continue to Gem after seeing this. Lookin' forward to your next one!
Definitely gotta do it! It's beautiful out that way

The Alpine Lakes Wilderness is just stunning!

Thanks for watching!
Bro this is so beautiful!!! Just discovered your channel and it is so beautiful
Thank you!
Your videos never fail to inspire me. Your photography, cinematography, creativity and you give me inspiration to go hiking more. Definitely one of my favorite RUclips channels! Your videos are just wonderful
So cool to hear that. Thank you for the kind words! Glad I can provide some inspiration :)
so so good!
Thank you!
these are my favourite videos Brae!
Glad to hear! I love making them!
Dude your content / videos are bypassing 'next level' status. Love it.
Thank you dude!
Such a great video
Thanks dude!
Such a dope video! Got me hype to take plenty of photos on my next trip.
Thank you!
Another great vid🤘🏾
Thank you!
Great self portraits this time! Also enjoyed the star trails
Thanks dude! Was a beautiful evening.
Havent watched any photography video in a while and decided to ahead and check out this new upload - I am absolutely stunned by these gorgeous shots you have taken, but the self portrait of you jumping in the lake with its calculation and the one while you were fishing (especially this one) are OUTSTANDING!! Such an inspiration to go outside, have trips like this and spend some time alone with myself (because friends moved abroad and I feel kinda lonely). So getting motivated to do stuff like this alone really gets me hyped up. Thank you very much for sharing your journey/trip, all of these beautiful photos and the whole story!! Keep on going man, you are doing a great job - much love from Germany Brae! 🧡
Thanks for watching and for the kind words! Glad I can provide some inspiration! Cheers :)
Gorgeous as ever bud 🫶
Thank you :)
🔥🔥🔥
🙏🏻
the self portraits were insane, so good
Thank you!
Hadn't heard of this hike, and just looked - snow lake trail closed through october XD ah well, I'll aim to go when I can. Looks amazing.
Haha yeah I snuck it in right before it closed. Definitely go when it opens back up!
such a good video
Thank you!
your videos make me wish i knew how to backpack
It's relatively accessible! Start on shorter trails, familiarize yourself with your gear, and work your way up! I only started 2-3 years ago :)
What an awesome trip up there! That night time long exposure of the stars and mountain was excellent. And the diving shot was epic! Way to nail it.
i live for the self portraits, & frames you photographed with people. amazing work as always.
Thanks, Cameron!
This is a sweet video dude
Thank you!
Excellent stuff dude, what an amazing scenery up there, loved everything about it!
I also really enjoyed what you said at the end, shooting less and enjoying more, gazing at the night sky and so on, that's what it's all about :)
Thank you dude :)
diggin the astrophotography
Thanks! Fun giving it a try
Damn man. I love the old, rolling hills that surround me in the Blue Ridge, but it’s hard to beat the younger mountains out west. You nailed every shot on this trip. Can’t believe how well timed the dive was.
Thanks man. Couldn't believe it when I got the scan back. I actually shot it again because I thought I completely messed up the timing on this one. The second one ended up being way worse lol
Same 😭 I love the blue ridge but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t intensely jealous of these landscapes
Love seeing the portraits and even self portraits in the landscapes! I often find strict landscape shots seem to try and avoid all trace of human activity, which can sometimes be boring.
Great job expanding the shot and your work!
I've been enjoying including people in these landscape shots. Feels more authentic and sometimes more interesting!
Awesome pics man! The one at 11:18 jumping into the lake, you could not have timed that any better I don't think! ✌️
Haha thanks, Peter! Was so stoked to see that one turn out!
Wow what an incredible video and adventure. Photos were amazing, did well to time that dive!!
Thank you!
I really enjoy all your hiking/traveling videos, well done!! Btw, at 7:35, I thought you were naked lol
Thank you! And don't think RUclips would be too thrilled if I was 😂
Fantastic as always. Love the hiking content. Hope to make some myself like yours one day
Thank you, these types of videos are always the most fun to look back on years down the road
Amazing work, as alwasy. Your an insperation to many, including me and make me want to take my cameras with me on all my adventures. Also the one of you fishin is such a banger - they all are but having you in the picture just makes it, as we are more often than not behind the camera.
Ah thank you sir! Appreciate the kind words 🙏🏻
I could watch this all day 🤟 fantastic video, as always
Thanks so much!
Awesome job as always man!
Thanks dude!
did you had that out to the country trip with some film photography folks? excited to hear about it!
The Alaska trip? We went back in June. It was awesome. I'll be making a video about it!
Brilliant video! Wonderful location and amazing images!
Thanks very much :)
Amazing video!! agreed with others the Fishing selfie should be hanging on a hollywood director's wall, speaking of, was JJ Abrams directing your video at around 6:15 lots of Flares 😆??????????
Thank you very much haha! And yeah brought JJ in to help with this one 😂👀
Cheers!
Top quality stuff once again Brae. You nailed both of the self portraits 👌 3rd person to summit this year, pretty decent effort haha
Thanks so much! Was a blast.
i might just be really baked but this video is amazing
Hahah love it 😂
Whoo super sick 50 minutes exposure ! How do you calcul this ? Thanks Andrea ✨🙌
Completely guessed! Haha
My favorite photography channel!! Bro, I finally had a chance to do some hiking in Alaska and I brought along both my Canon 70d as well as my pop’s old Yashica Electro X 35mm. I still need to develop like 10 rolls or so. I wish I could’ve filmed my journey! that’d been cool. I definitely caught the hiking bug!
Thank you dude! That's awesome you got on the trail up there! Bet you got some rad stuff. Cheers!!
Another amazing video man. Great self portrait captures and loved the music selection. Also, is that a pro-mist you've got on the video cam? Really dreamy highlights in this one.
Thank you, Nick! Yeah I threw the 1/4 pro mist on the GH5S for this one. I usually only use it when I'm shooting on the 6K PRO because that image is so damn sharp, but I think it faired well for this video! Appreciate the feedback!
@@BraeHunziker Hell yeah man I always dig the ethereal quality it gives to images and video. Big fan!
For the diving photo, did you jump on the count of 11? Love the comp and it came out really good.
I believe I started my jump right when I heard the first short beep. Around 11-12 seconds
Your video and photos are so beautiful. Also, thank you for sharing the great view of American nature. Just one little question: aren't you afraid of a bear?
Thank you! And not really. The only types of bear in the area are black bears and maybe some brown, they don’t want anything to do with humans usually. In the Olympics it’s more important to carry bear spray.
These were soooooooo dope! What lens was on your 67II when taking these photos??
Thanks, Cody! These are all the 55mm!
@@BraeHunziker I gotta get me a 55mm. Currently my 105mm lives on my 67 lol
:') Great video man - I would love to accompany you on one of these! I'm in the Portland area--let me know.
Thanks dude! I am working on getting a group backpacking/hiking trip organized for later this year. Keep an eye out.
Absolutely loved this video. i'm gonna be hiking and camping in shenandoah in a few weeks with the p6x7. Do you have like a small core unit with dividers inside your pack to separate your gear from the rest of your pack? or do you just throw it at the top of eveything else in the pack?
Thank you! I just throw it on top of everything else, but I have a puffy jacket that I use to cradle it in the bag to give it some protection.
How did you meter for that star trail??? Awesome shots as usual Brae!
Completely guessed if I'm being honest haha
@@BraeHunziker ngl i would too lololol. Shot came out perfectly though!
shooting less and enjoying more
Yes sir!
🙏🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
👊🏼
New sub ! Liked 🔥😉😊🤭🔥
Thanks!
My notification is on for this reason
Haha lets go!
photos go crazy, how do you meter?
All internal meter on the Pentax 67ii!
Thank you very much for the kind words. Appreciate you taking the time to watch!
Are you packing when you're hiking? Surely there must be bears out there.
This is how I play RDR2
Haha yes!! Best game ever
