the ignorance of these comments bums me out. the bobo stuff is the basis of all modern coin magic. you have to walk before you can run. thank you for posting this, it must have taken a lot of dedication to get this done!
I remember watching this (all 4 volumes) to learn, but it became overwhelming with so much material. Eventually, I just set it aside as a reference to revisit when needed. In my experience, the best learning materials are short, focused sessions-like the 30-minute practical tutorials, such as David Hudspath's videos for beginners. The same goes for Daryl's sponge ball series. It’s packed with so much content-I also have 7 VHS tapes, each 6 hours long, just on rope tricks! Who’s realistically going to watch all that? It becomes more about realizing that any effect is possible and then narrowing down what you actually want to perform before looking up how to do it. This is why direct tutoring produces the best performers. It’s targeted, hands-on, and much easier to apply than sifting through hours of material.
Thanks for this, here's my list to learn: 00:00 Bobo complete vanish 29:43 Coin through hand 1-3 48:58 Coin to key 4:08 Sucker Vanish 1:02:16 Coin from 2 cards Midas touch 1 to 4
*Thank you very much for the work, it's excellent, with a very good base of the magic of the pieces. The book "Bobo" is the basis of the magic of the pieces for any beginner magician! Essential to study. Not reading this book is like building a house starting with the roof !!!!*
I agree with Pretzels Buns, there is a lot ignorance being posted. I've been learning and performing magic for about 50 years. And Bobo's is the book that I started with, as did most of the greatest coin magicians. Just ask them. And from the basics they learned from Bobo they went on to create the effects that they are famous for today. So to belittle and laugh at this book just shows that these people have no respect and knowledge for the foundations and history of magic.
I have been doing that move from the sucker vanish by turning my body and hands at the same time to toss the coin from the right to the left for 45 years. I thought I came up with it. Never saw in Bobo. I was always amazed I never got caught at it.
How about misdirection? Coin magic isn't just sleights. Look into the eyes of the participant when you're doing a move or ask a question, like did Bobo endure a lifetime of suffering? -- people making fun of his name.
In the dedication, on one of the first few pages of the book, he thanks his great grandfather, Jean Beaubeaux for changing it to Bobo which he emigrated. He was proud of the name and found it fitting for a magician. You'd know that if you'd read it. You should also consider that learning to perform the sleights and perfecting the mechanics are necessary before you can create effective misdirection, which is what the book aims to teach. This is the second in a four volume set of DVDs that cover the entire book "J.B. Bobo's Modern Coin Magic." The sleights and mechanics are taught, by necessity, before the misdirection. By criticizing him for teaching the material in the order used in the book, you're essentially complaining that you don't know who the killer is in chapter three of a mystery novel. Cheers. 😁

If you love magic like me, don't put videos like this on RUclips !!! Don't you have respect for this Art ? Why giving those tricks and secrets to everyone ? How could we bluff people with coins if they know everything about palming ? And what about Bobo who made this video ? Did he agreed with what you're doing ? You have a brain, use it !😡
I bet he just loves magic differently than you. Nobody is hurt by exposing 100year old tricks I believe Bobo knew the videos were made and sold ( I bought the set back in the day) but better exposure by professional magicians than kids who just learned the sleight.
@@seanfaherty I think you don't understand a word of what I said. I'm not talking about Bobo, I'm talking about the guy who is giving freely Bobo's video on RUclips. Like you said, the videos were made and sold, not free. You can cheer the secrets but only for people who want to learn, not people who want to know. Do you now understand what I mean ?
yeah, I think I understand. you think that tricks I learned out of library books 40 years ago are some sort of fancy secret that nobody knows... as soon as that coin disappears every kid looks at your other hand, every fucking one. They know how it's done even when they don't see it happen. The trick is to make it so they don't want to look at your other hand. You think that's some sort of secret worth condemning another human being for. Great. I don't. I don't like it when people expose new material people are using to feed their families but the tricks in that book were not cutting edge at the time of publication, now after 80 some years ? After David Roth and Koinoa Hardbottle ? Is your Retention Vanish that much of a secret ? Last weekend I did Winged Silver as it is in Bobo for guy...borrowed coins, blew his fucking mind. That trick is well over 100 years old. It has been exposed countless times. Laymen forget the idea of of an extra coin. You ever get fooled by a trick you know ? Both Charlie Miller and Magic Balay have fried me with a thumb tip. A master will fool you even when you know the trick. Don't worry about exposure. Get better @@julienlemagicien

The book is so old it's in the public domain. Anyone who wants it can get it for free by Googling it. It's a bit silly that you're insisting that people should have to pay for knowledge that's available for free. Uploading a DVD under copyright isn't a great thing to do, but for you to say something like "how can we bluff people with coins if they know all about palms" isn't about protecting someone else's intellectual property - that's about you wanting to decide who should have access to which materials, and what requirements they should have to meet. Or, alternatively (and probably more likely) it's because you're not confident enough in your own sleights to perform for someone who "knows about palming." I'll let you in on a little secret...the average magic viewer isn't seeing this, because they're not looking for it. I would bet that 80-90% of the views this video has are magicians, and the rest of them didn't watch the whole video. I would be happy to perform for any non-magician spectator immediately after they watched this video, and I'd bet good money I'd still fool them with four effects in a five effect set. 🤷♂️ ... I'd also be willing to be that I could fool _you._ If _you_ have a brain, *use it.* 😂😂

Has someone an idea where I can get the orginal DVDs. Or someone can give me the orginal title of the dvd and the publisher. Thank you.
Can you upload the other 2 dvd's please?
