@@xreed8 Sadly it is getting pretty repetitive. The issue is there's literally no apparent contention for the championship, makes it hard to back a specific driver so you end up just focusing on the midfield trying to score a handful of points.

Also, didn't he lose one position for a penalty for pitting during the formation lap because the team told him to or something? Such a shame, really. I like the guy and wish the best for the whole team too, but all these penalties and whatnot every week are kind of crazy.
@@Thunderhawk51 There is no penalty for starting in the pit lane to change tyres. Sometimes you have to start in the pits as a penalty though. This was their choice cos of weather. And it was a good one.

@@Thunderhawk51 he did, both drivers lost one position so p10 for kevin. apparently it was because ure not allow to have driver aids during the formation lap and a pit stop is considered a driver aid
@@Thunderhawk51 correction, what Daniel Lord said is half-true. The team/pitwall crew cannot aid the drivers during formation lap (information, strategy, pits etc). However, the driver himself can just drove in the pit lane and say in radio "Y'all i want them Red Slicks no questions asked" and it would be perfectly legal with no penalty. You'd still have to start in the pitlane though.
Kvyat also wanted to change tires but instead of straight up telling his team that he wants to pit, he instead asked a question whether he can pit to change tires or not. In normal circumstances of course its perfectly normal because Kvyat is being considerate towards the pit crew so they dont have to rush to prepare for pit entry. The team could not answer that question, either yes or no because both would be considered "aiding drivers during formation lap"

It was only considered illegal because the team gave them information on the formation lap, had both the drivers independently thought to pit and told the team they were going to do so it would have been legal.

In Magnussen's case, his crew asked for slicks (the first decision should come from the driver in the formation lap and the crew isn't allowed to initiate a strategic decision)

The joy for P9 by Keving and crew is what makes F1 worthwhile even when one team dominates. I am LH44 and we watched and enjoyed F1 even when he was not taking WDCs and struggling to get the McLaren in there somewhere in his last days there. These teamj radios will help us choose our second favourites and who to support when our favourites retire. We want teams that are happy and win together and lose together.
So good to see how passionate Haas were after getting 2 points, love seeing the small teams do well!

It’s nice to see some of the midfield drivers showing that they deserve to be in F1 with these performances.
There has always been plenty of midfield battles, they just rarely get shown. In the past, they would show the leader about 50% of the time regardless of how far ahead he is. Now if they are way ahead you barely see them. The new F1 owners have the production tightened way up. Bernie was a little tosser.
Daniel Lord ... you missed the point. Battles are irrelevant, some drivers I had doubts they were skilled enough to be in F1.

There was nothing much to do except left front suspension. They can change the tyre in 0.5 sec & change the front wing in 30seconds.
