Wow, I stumbled across your channel from your language related content, but found that I also related to this video a lot too. Although I think my disillusionment with the "cool job" was a lot less traumatic than yours. Best of luck!
can you be more specific about the option trading job ? so you were a day trader ? also does that had anything to do with your linguistic degree ? just curious
Thanks for this bit of your thoughts. Made me laugh and I could relate as someone that is going to quit their graduate degree in maths & finance to collect myself and focus on what makes me happy: biking, making art, writing, building stuff. Enjoy your life :)
Not all jobs for all people. Sometimes the best choice is to backtrack and collect yourself .. I feel this is one of those moment and dont let this scare you that everywhere things are same. Sometimes you have to take chances as well
Quitting is good 👍. Better you quit than your employer quits on you. Also, this is 2023. Employers no longer expect a worker to stay for 20 years or whatever years in order to gain that golden parachute. You follow the book 📖 Live Rich written by the late Stephen Pollan, New York City attorney and father-in-law of actor Michael Fox 🦊. Your obstacles. 1 New York City is a tough place for living and working. I was there. 2 big companies require a discipline or lifestyle similar to the military. I have many (male) relatives who are veterans. Some are entrepreneurs. A few in big companies. They verify my claim. Sports is also similar. I played sports in high school 🏫. 3 lifestyle and personality. Yours does not match those of a trader. Good 👍 you found your niche. You can thrive in what interests you. 😎
love this honest insight into the corporate trading world! would love to hear more about your experience. subscribed!
Options trading is definitely not glamorous. It's high pressure, high stress, and tedious. NYC also kinda sucks.
Good luck with future adventures!
Thank you!
You'll rock it wherever you are.
You remind me of my Niece. Your going to do just fine Becca. Your greatest adventure awaits
Aw that’s sweet, thank you!

how did you get this job? whats the job title exactly?
Sounds like she didn't know what she got into. A broker life is pretty rough. Most can't take the ups and down in financial services.
money is definitely not everything. hopefully your next job treats you with more respect!
Be happy and healthy.
