4 Corals you should NEVER put in your Reef Aquarium! Come see why...you'll thank me later...

- In this video I discuss 4 corals that I was led to believe were great "beginner" or "starter" corals. Corals that were supposedly very easy to grow. However, little did I know, they would soon overrun my reef tank and make it very difficult to grow out my other more prized mini colonies. Come check out what 4 corals I am referring to and take a look at some evidence as to why you should NEVER put them in your tank!

Yep i removed my kenya tree over year ago and i still have tiny kenya trees popping up everywhere.
Had to strip down my first tank due to Green Star Polyp and Pulsing Xenia. I can't believe some people have problems growing Pulsing Xenia. It totally covered my tank areas that didn't already have GSP. Mushrooms can be a problem also. Great video.
I enjoyed this video. For me right now my nemesis is Bam Bam's Zoanthids & a blueish green paly that I do not know the name of. They are growing over and into other Zoanthid colonies on my rock work.
I love green stars you do need to isolate them but in the back I've had success just put some stingers on the sides of them stops that growth
GSP is amazing, but only if its isolated on its on rock in the sand. Id also add meteor shower to this list as its takes over everything.
Isolating it on a small rock separate from everything else is actually not a bad idea. I’ve seen some folks cover their overflow with it as well.
Thank you for the video, very helpful
Kenya Tree 😮was the worst for me
I recall Kenya tree being the second coral I ever owned, right after gsp. Luckily for me, it didn’t really take off too much!
Another great video sir!
Do you have an instagram?
First, I like this video a lot because it’s not the usual brown leathers / mushrooms / Xenia warning
Second - I have spogides in my tank
Now I’m questioning if I should just remove it
It’s been a fairly slow growing frag..
But I could use the real estate on something else
If you don’t mind keeping the spongodes in check, by all means keep it! If you can keep it isolated on a rock or certain area of your tank while it grows in, even better. Just give it plenty of room…it’ll grow quite fast! It definitely became a real estate issue…my much more prized sps frags that were slow growing had no room to blossom!
Pulsing Xenia & Green rhodactis mushrooms are definitely at the top of my list
I love the poci (posse)
Fair enough! Lots of opinion mixed in to this video 😀
Cyphastreas 😵💫 once they are established. Nothing will stop them.
Yep…very good one! Steer clear of the meteor shower!
Waving hand Anthelia, literally is taking over my 10 gallon. But its kinda cool
As someone else commented, great vid because it wasn't the usual suspects.
Hey I would love a frag of the spongode if you’re offering! No joke let me know!
The first palys are Captain Jerk not Nuclear Green and that's why they took over. Nice video though!
Thank you @seanmclennon1341 for chiming in. I’ll take your word for it! They were sold to me as nuclear green palys, but I see what your saying after a quick google search and looking at what tidal gardens is selling. Nonetheless, steer clear of the captain jerks or something that may look close to nuclear greens! To be honest, I don’t touch a paly unless colors are off the charts😬…and usually those variants won’t high jack your tank, even though sometimes we wish they would...
Pandora zoa are the worst too
I will take your free frags anytime ☝️😀
Red sea it will bust a seam that's for sure 😄
Hope not!! 😬
Dude you talk to much
Hey there, appreciate the feedback. I’m
new at this, but am trying to get better. I’ll work on not over talking! I actually have a few videos where I don’t talk at all. You might want to check those out. I’m still experimenting 😬
