This is by far one of the most impressive techniques I've ever seen with continuous lights, thank you so much, I was looking for something like this and I'm glad I've found it!
Amazing technique once again Jiggie. Most of this type of beauty shot i've seen online always use modifiers and softboxes. But your simple approach opens a practical way to appreciate photography for the budget enthusiast. Perfect!
Hi, I have just found your channel, and cannot stop going through your videos. Just want to compliment your ability as a communicator as well as an instructional designer!
I know this is an older video, but great information!! I started photography in the film days on a camera from 1979, and we only had center-weighted metering in the camera....matrix metering didn't exist, and if you wanted to do spot metering, you had to have a separate light meter that was pretty expensive. I have found, for me, the most accurate way to meter is using center-weighted metering, and then adjust the exposure compensation as needed according to the scene. Thank you for putting these videos out there!!
I really like how you explain everything sir in a much understandable way. Since I subscribe here last week, cant help but watch tutorials from your channel every now and then. I hooe you dont get tired sharing your knowledge for newbies like me. 😁👍 God bless and stay safe sir.😇
You have a flair for teaching apart from being a seasoned photographer. Thanks for this video. It opens up possibilities of continuous light in my mind or should I say my mind is lighted!
Sir I've learnt new ideas from your presentation. Im just a newbie trying to learn more about portraits pothography. Ive subscribed to your chanel and God speed.
Hi Jiggie, 1st of all, thanks for your detailed and helpful instruction videos! I got my hands on a pair of Phottix Nuada R3 II, but I’m struggling to find a fitting grid matching the ~35cm diameter. You mentioned beauty dish grids in your videos. Do you have a recommendation? Any help or guidance would be much appreciated!
Wow I just learned so much about lighting. I use to think you needed a black backdrop to get photos like that now I know it's not true! Thanks for the wonderful tutorial.
Great video! In this tutorial and you are hand holding, I am using AV mode for canon. What is the best aperture? I am shaky under 100 what would you suggest?
Galing! I own an a7iii but didnt know how to use the exposure compensation..another informative tutorial sir jiggie! Thumbs up to you! I asked my girlfriend to watch the video and now shes asking me to buy her the m180 led light haha
So this is "Aperture Priority" shooting mode? I'm going to try and do this with my GH4. I've noticed when flip around with exposure compensation the SS and Aperture are following and appeared fixed in according to the exposure. Will see how it turns out.
Incidentally, I am also using Phottix Nauda S3 and two M180. I'm really surprised to see how you managed to shoot low-key portraits with these wonderful LED lights. I so far use the S3 as a softbox fill-light, and the M180 as accent. Seems like there are more creative use of these LED. Thanks for your demo.
The light coming from the Nuada S3 though is not as soft as the R3 or R4 :) But try it out, it should give you some really dramatic portraits, specially if you use it for split lighting
Hi Jigigie, stumbled upon this old video of yours. lot of learning with simple methods. Thanks for that. However, would like to see the final images in a better way.
I shoot in aperture priority a lot also, especially if I'm photographing children who move a lot. But with adults and teens I usually use ISO 100 AND manual exposure because it's more precise and more dependable.
