- Here we jump into Arid Heights! Probably the first 'sandbox' style scenario that appeared in RollerCoaster Tycoon.
In this episode we put together the park entrance area, a steel-mini coaster, and a large Arrow Dynamics looping coaster not dissimilar to Vortex @ Kings Island!
Objective: To have at least 2000 guests in your park. You must not let the park rating drop below 700 at any time!
Park: Arid Heights

Really pleasant commentary!
Thanks very much, really appreciate it! I've been a long time fan of your work!
Never could quite get RCT1 to look normal and realistic when I play, so I find a lot of joy in seeing you be able to do it :)
Thanks! It's definitely a challenge, glad you're enjoying watching it!
I love your Arid Heights park! I hope Razor Rocks won't be too much trouble for you, since in that scenario. You have to get used to having money again.
Thanks very much! I'm looking forward to Razor Rocks. The money will take some getting used to again after Arid Heights, but since there is no time limit on Razor Rocks I can sit back and wait as long as I need for money to roll in!
When I see Mick upload... I click! :D
Hahahaha, I love it! Thanks for the support!
Looking good already
Thanks very much! Glad you think so!
Glad to see you uploading another park. You put a lot of effort into your parks and it really shows. Episode 1 and things are already looking fantastic!
Thanks very much, really appreciate the kind words! It's great to get into another scenario playthrough, it's fun taking a break and dipping into OpenRCT2 every now and then but this is generally the most fun for me!
I love trying to maximize the potential of the original RCT1 too, and your videos have inspired me! I've learned so many little details and techniques in bringing out realism! I played this scenario and Extreme Heights more than any other. But I cannot WAIT to see the rest of your Aird Heights!
That's great to hear! I'm glad I've helped give you some ideas! Extreme Heights was a fun but tough one that always seemed to take me ages haha. Hope you enjoy the rest of the series!
Awesome video as always! Love how the paths/rides interact with the water. Arid Heights is one of my favorite scenarios to play, excited to see what you make out of it!
Thank you! I'm glad you like the interaction with the water, I'm probably going to add a bit more water as I go, I think it always makes things look a little nicer!
Glad you're back and posting new parks - Love it so far, great commentary
I really appreciate that, thanks Nicholas! Glad you're liking it so far
Wow looking good! I like the entrance it gives off an N64 game vibe.
Thanks! I never would have made that connection although I didn't play a lot of N64 - is there any game in particular it reminds you of?
@@MickanMansRCTStation like smash 64 hyrule castle or peach’s castle in Super Mario 64
Ah yep I can definitely see a bit of Peach's Castle in there!
A promising start, Arid Heights always felt really huge to me, so it's exciting to hear that you're going to fill out the entire map and I can't wait to see how that turns out!
Good to see you getting some practice in on those Arrow Loopers 😉
Hopefully it won't take me too long, I want to do the same for Razor Rocks, and I think that's even bigger! I actually did this coaster just before the contest announcement! Good timing eh! Haha
Definitely my favorite park when I played the original RCT.
I love your videos please make more
I really appreciate that Matthew, thanks! I absolutely will make some more!
Finally another upload!!
Happy to finally have another one ready! Hopefully not as long until the next one! :)
Rattle snake would be a good name for the coaster in this team
Thanks for the suggestion! I like it! If I don't use it for the looper, I will likely use it for a coaster in the wild west/mine themed area
Nice park!
Thanks!
Mirage for the coaster name? Or name each major coaster after a desert- Sahara, Gobi, Mojave, etc. Do you name all rides in your parks for added realism, or just coasters? What about shops or staff? Just curious. Starting to look really nice, looking forward ro the next parts!
They're all great suggestions! I quite like Mirage actually, I may go with that! I do name all my rides, but I generally leave shops/stalls as they are unless I can think of anything clever. I don't mind keeping shops and stalls as they are as it helps me keep tabs on how many services/facilities I have in the park. Staff generally not either. Thanks for the ideas, love them!
It’s super annoying how RCT1 only has multiple options such as brick for vertical land skins. I’m terrible at making buildings as I’m on iPad.
Yeah I imagine it would be quite difficult. I've never played it on the iPad before. Would it help maybe if you used the land to make the shape of the buildings and then stack scenery pieces around the walls of that?
You could name the arrow looper Scorpion
I like this name a lot, I feel like its very 'Arrow' as well, this might be a winner - although I might have to tinker with the colour scheme a little! Thanks Darrien!
@@MickanMansRCTStation For sure! I got the idea with the scenario being like the desert and seeing the water like an oasis type of feel.
scrambled eggs? you talk about food while making a twister
I think I'm playing the US version of the game which has slightly different names for a lot of the rides!
@@MickanMansRCTStation oh ok lol
