@Trinity M I'm gonna show my age here, but that was the way it was for me too. I graduated in 1998 and I was in band and also did flags and rifles in the marching band. It was legit a FULL on commitment and we were GRADED on it during our "summer practices" because we (the band) started school 2 weeks before everyone else to start learning our field show routine, parade dress, and all music. 12 hour days, 5 days a week for 2 weeks. Then school started and it was everyday during class, sectionals during study hall 2x a week, and every day for another 2-3 hours after school, plus game nights and competitions on the weekend. When football was over, pep band started for basketball games and we still had local parades and competitions to do. It was crazy! I miss it though. Still a band geek at heart. Love a great drumline cadence 🎵🎵🎵 and watching the new generation play 💜
I understand this too well. I was on my schools dance team and choir. They decided to have an ensemble of all of the arts programs. The choir was set up next to the stage so I remember ducking beneath the curtains to run around the back before jumping to my section. I was singing in my leotard between costume changes. Good for this young gentleman! I think it's totally awesome! He really seems to be enjoying himself, and it's great he's able to pull off both these two demanding extracurricular activities. I wish him much future success. 😀
Bro I can relate. Hell on Fridays or weekends we had to report to the band hall before 5 or 6:00 to practice stuff and depending on who we played against, we wouldn't be back to school till 12:00 or 1:00 then be back at the band hall before 6:00 for UIL. Ah good old days.
Our daughter wasn't an athlete, but still spent a large part of her week at school at LEAST 12 hours a day because of her extracurriculars. Those are the kids that excell after high school too it seems.....
Yup. My dad's from a tiny town in West Texas & played defense for 4 quarters & trombone at halftime. He's the hardest worker I have ever seen & a great dad. I hope I'm half as good a human as he is. ❤
Yeah I'm honestly shocked that people are surprised about this. Nearly every single person I went to high school with participated in multiple activities, many of which took place on Friday night. Football players in the band, cheerleaders in the band, athletic trainers in the flag corps. It's just the way of small towns. I'm totally here for it getting recognition, but he's not an outlier by any means.
The dedication this kid has is incredible. My daughter was in marching band, and their summer training isnt some cake walk. Those kids march and exercise for 10+ hours a day, weeks on end, & all on pavement in the middle of summer. Then to have to go to football training as well? My god, I'd give my soul for a drop of that kind of motivation & energy! Keep that up and he's going to have an awesome future ❤
Had a couple of people in my high school band who played football and also marched. Then there were others of us who were in cross country, volleyball, tennis, etc and still marched as well. Very thankful for our band teachers and coaches for being flexible with us students to pursue both of our passions ❤

I swear this made my day ❤❤❤❤. He better be homecoming king, class president, prom king, mvp all of that he is a goat 🐐
Brah exercising while being in the band and bouta play a football game. That boy ate a bowl of corn flakes everyday. That’s a healthy kid 😄
*He’s cranking that instrument. YAS!* 👏🏽
that is not cranking💀
Oh man that kid is gooooooooing places! I hope his parents are proud ^_^
I run track and cross country, and I also play quints and snare in drumline. This is relatable. The grind never stops.
Quit lol
@@whatever3145 Always that one guy
This was me every home game. At one point we had 6-7 players performing at half time still wearing their numbers
Same. My Jr and Sr years of hs held the band were playing sports and marched halftime in various different uniforms. 🤣
That’s love for both music and sports. So amazing 🎉
My son was in band and football too ❤
God bless this 👏🏼💕young man and enjoy your youth
We have a lot of kids in both band and football. Gotta love it
And the football players always go the hardest too! Those who double up on sports and band are amazing!
More people like him are needed in band. He sounds great, too!
That's honestly really cool. Much respect to him being a bridge of both the football world and the marching band world.
He's definitely has that HBCU roll call.
That’s what I was thinking. He deserves a spot in a much more lively (and on key) band.
Right!
😂😂😂😂 I was thinking yes. Knees to chest
I was like ok come on H…U! Yes stretch while you got to get back to the football ball team. Give them a lil bop..😂 love it.
Hmmmm… no he doesn’t 😂😂😂
I understand this too well. I was on my schools dance team and choir. They decided to have an ensemble of all of the arts programs. The choir was set up next to the stage so I remember ducking beneath the curtains to run around the back before jumping to my section. I was singing in my leotard between costume changes. It was so tiring I ended up lip syncing the last song because I was too out of breath from the dancing 😂
Would you rather have lived outside of the NY Metropolitan Area in the boonies where you had NOTHING to relate to?
With Mr Valor?
The other team must have used genjutsu on him or this is the most elaborate touchdown celebration ever.
I'm cackling
Not genjutsu 💀🖐️
Not only that but he is playing Baritone. MAD RESPECT. Baritone is by far the hardest instrument to march in my experience.
Nah I think Tubas are, ya seen how big they are🙂🥲
Flute's also a good contender. Requires a stupid amount of air and a 90% chance of you/your instrument getting whacked by the color guard.
@@brodyquestionmarkI play Sousa and Baritone, Sousa is easier marching at first and easier to play while marching but after a little bit it digs in to your shoulders and hurts really bad. So if it’s for a short time sousa is easier but anything more than like 30 minutes it becomes very painful.
@@brodyquestionmarkyall sleeping on drumline bro
@@noscwI agree with this, Sousaphone is easy to march in during actual shows, but harder to march in during practices because of how much longer you're wearing it.
Good for this young gentleman! I think it's totally awesome! He really seems to be enjoying himself, and it's great he's able to pull off both these two demanding extracurricular activities. I wish him much future success. 😀
OMG THATS MY SCHOOL!!!!! That year was such an awesome show, this man is a warrior!!!!
HE IS THE EPITOME OF LOW BRASS FR MY HS LOW BRASS APPLAUDS HIM FR IT TAKES GAINS AND THAT AIR SUPPORT IS LITERALLY CRAZY
Oh, honey, that's wonderful!
@@antigonesliwinski9467 euphonium you mean
@@Catholic17 yeah I know, I ment low brass as in the section not as a instrument lol
wait bc this looks like it was my school too
That’s my old high school!! Flight of the Condor was so fun to play and that guy (I was a saxophone so I didn’t know him well) was an absolute icon
Damn
Were you that saxophone guy swinging like crazy or just another saxophone player?
What school is this? Looks like my old high school too.
Looks like our school as well. But it us hard to tell for sure.
looks like mine too but cant tell what it is
That Tenor Sax player in the back is absolutely jamming
Looks like he brings his passion to his music and also if he can’t get that football ride in college music department will have him covered ingenious!
We love to see a baritone being a baritone 😭😭
We have kids like this in our band! The commitment in these kids is crazy
he hittin that visual tooo hard
He's doing his stretches for his legs while playing thats why
As sombody who dud this the hardest part is going to school at 7am and not leaving until 9 pm.
@@macksonjack3241 it was always worth it tho
Our daughter wasn't an athlete, but still spent a large part of her week at school at LEAST 12 hours a day because of her extracurriculars. Those are the kids that excell after high school too it seems.....
@@rivwell_21 I can 100% agree to this, even if I had been sleep deprived from those events
🎉🎉🎉
You gotta love thise guys who are committed to both
Young man thought he was on an HBCU band, with that stance!😂👏🏿
This is exceedingly common in small schools across the country. Glad this kid is bringing some recognition to the sporty band nerds out there. 💪💪💪💪
We had several of these when i was in school. You have to appreciate their dedication.
🗣MEGAN KNEES PERIOD ☠️😂😂‼️
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
😭😭wdf where do yall be coming up with this shit att😭🤣🤣
Omg 😂😂😂😂
damn. that boy got major commitment. how the hell is he in football and band?! AMAZING!! 🤣
This gave me so much joy ! His happiness is contagious 😅❤
Getting deep squats at halftime. What a legend!
There's a kid like that at my school. He's on the varsity team and went and played the drums at halftime.
Being a band geek I despised football players. But when a guy can pull off football, band, AND education = respect! 😎
Why did you despise football players?
@@bemimu cus he’s a geek
My dad and uncle were both band directors at my school, so I was basically raised in a band hall and would definitely be a band nerd by most people's definition. Despising football players is fucking stupid, full stop. 🤡
Football, band, education and a whole relationship = respect
@Caramel Honey G It still counts as one, considering that a relationship is a relationship regardless of whether it's half of one or a whole. Btw, I love your username!
Now that is a talented kid that is committed. On top of that he is almost guaranteed a college scholarship to any school he wants because he plays one of the tubas. As tuba players are actually in demand. If he get a scholarship for football we could actually see him on the national stage.
Hell yea. He’s committed lmao I like it picasso
I see you've watched that TikTok video.
He does his visuals better than the others too 🤣
He committed 🎉
also blasting like crazy 💀
He's warmed up. If the band had been doing wind sprints for 10 minutes instead of in the stands cheering and waiting their turn, they'd look a good deal looser, I suspect.
Hes not wearing bibbers 😭 dem shits restrict leg movements so much! I ripped a pair because i knelt too hard 💀
