Trash is easy, but recycling brings us angst multiple times a day. We want to do the right thing, but we don’t know what the right thing is to do. And we wonder if our efforts really matter.
We are fortunate to have three of the local experts on recycling as guest presenters at our March Keeping it Local. They will answer the questions below, and more.
Are we sorting recyclables the way we should?
What do we have to rinse out?
What should never be put in recycling?
What happens to our recyclables once the truck picks them up?
Is the energy involved in picking them up offset by the downstream benefit to the environment?
Are businesses (like stadiums and fast food restaurants) recycling the way they could or should be?
The presenters have provided background information available on the LWVCC home page at lwvchampaignco...
