I remember when I was a kid in the 70's, I saw in a photo magazine an article about a photographer that took pictures of 3D architectural models, to create a preview of what a building project might look like when completed. What I remember was that he used a lens that looked very much like the Laowa 24mm f/14 2x macro probe. Supposedly he used it to get the viewpoint low enough and the final image to look realistic. I think the lens in this article was a special order kind of a thing. But he Laowa is readily available today.
Crumpled blue paper + whale won it for me. Prior to seeing that, it was the chocolate. Well done, Mathieu.
Those with the firefighters and with the chocolate were my favourite. So cool!
love your macro photography
This is great! Thanks for the inspiration!
Loved the photo with the firemen and the fire 🔥
Yea, it's been a long time i didn't use Tinder lol
OK I need to try this during the next quarantine
Totally !
It will be very difficult to get the shot keeping the little people 6 feet apart 😂
Your videos are so darn much fun!!!
This is just brilliant
Wonderful brilliant video. Such fun indoors.
So cool! so inspiring thanks! :D
Inspiring as always!
Excellent Mathieu ! Voilà un domaine où je ne pensais pas vous trouver ! 😊
Thank you for this, much enjoyed :)
I always wondered where you could find these!
Thanks!
Hopefully I can start exploring the world of miniature photography soon!

So inspiring! This just fired up an idea for a holiday season card. Thanks, Mathieu! 👍🏻
So glad!
J'adore! J'ai une grande passion c'est le jeux de société et je dois avoir des milliers de figurines, je les mettrai bien en scène en voyant ta vidéo :)

This is art😍
Thank you again for the very inspiring video. I surely have to try some of these.
Go for it!
Love It! Like the outdoor scene.
Thank you!
Last year I made a Christmas card type of photo, with a couple of items.
A car and a House which were keyrings, some parts of succulent (plant) leaves as Christmas trees in the background.
Wheat flour as snow, Photographed with a Jupiter 135 F4 with macro extensions on a A7II.
Actually inspired by you, great videos !
Thanks. I would like to try it!
WELL DONE!! I am just venturing into this world. Excellent intro. THANKS for doing this and sharing your skills.
Thank you kindly!
Beautiful, simply beautiful ❤️
Thank you so much!
Genius!
2:37 its so easy to get shots like that when using an actual camera and not a phone lol

I absolutely love your photography and work gave me back my motivation. I've seen your dinosaur figure video too, have you done photography with animal figures?
So inspiring. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so many questions answered!!! and awesome photos to boot! One of my winter photography bucket list items is miniature photography. Now out to google to find local miniature train store hmmm
Great to hear!
WHoo.. thanks. That looks like a lot of fun!
It is!
Very nice video! Love it! What do you use by the fireman to make smoke?
Namaskaram where we find models
Great job came here from REDDIT!! Keep it up friend, really enjoyed your video
Thanks for coming
Awesome.
Glad you think so!
Awesome man :)
Thanks 😁
How did you add the smoke, looks like a spray connected to a small radius pen/tube?
Bro,what ia name of the camera model used in this.. thanks!
Strange I have an obsession with everything miniature, why is that. I have ordered some little people before I got here i don't know why, I wanted to try to recreate a town preferably set in Britain or USA around the 1950s. Am i alone in this? Am I crazy? Maybe I am but loved your video and has inspired me to do something with the little people when the postman finally delivers them. However I ordered 1:64 as I thought that was the size for the old matchbox sized cars but now I'm not so sure.
Try diecast car photography along with this
Neat!
Glad you liked this
Nice bro!
Thanks for the visit
Awsome video subbed
Thanks for the sub!
Where did you get the mini figurines from?
Is it need a macro lens or no?
This is awesome... I think I found my next hobby.
You should!
some comedy macro shots of famous events, ie you could have the jfk assassination where you see the gunman's gun falling from the window and jfk surviving or da vinchi painting pictures of cats with the mona lisa painting screwed up into a ball in the corner.
great video, loads of possibilities with miniatures photography
Can you do how to record them for RUclips videos? I really need that .
Checking your Amazon links before it's all gone!
Bes fast !
Thank you for this video! It is the only one on RUclips which specifically answers all my questions! Just one last question about scale : would you recommend N scale or TT scale figurines for toy photography?
I only use HO scale, because it's the most realistic for close focus photography, N scale would be interesting if you want to put really tiny people inside an object but they loose realism because so tiny.
@@MathieuStern thank you! I find HO scale has the most selection anyways!
Where do you get these figurines?
Is 1:64 scale good too?
In the 70ieth we call it tabletop.... and used mostly a 20mm lens for 35mm film....
I saw Tinder. So, this handsome boy must not have been taken yet. ;)
Lol, i had to instal it just for the photoshoot :)
Bos 1 kotak atau 1 Paket full setnya berapa ya....???
Iam need pls give link how
What lens are you using in most pictures
Laowa 15mm f4
That Laowa 15mm macro is amazing, but a bit costly. There is a version of this same lens without the shift mechanism sold onder the brand name Opteka. It is 500 Euro's cheaper. No joke. I bought it for 150 Euro's and i love it. And yes, it is the same lens.
I use museum wax to the figures in place
Isn't HO scale used for 1:64 cars
I hope I am that creative at creating scenes using normal items...
Very cool what you can do with a few miniature figures and a camera! I was hoping you would narrate this one... with no narration and the "like" button graphics, this video feels a bit cheaper and more corporate than your other videos, which have more of your personality in them! En tout cas, merci pour le vidéo, j'aimerais bien faire des photos des petits mecs comme tu l'a fait !
Next time! I will try to narrate it again
I haven't discovered macro photography yet. I have been zooming out and up. I friend of mine makes bad painting of landscapes and bad paintings of people, and when he combines the two it sells. People don't see how bad it is. The magic of a person in a landscape overwrites everything. Still I dont place people in my landscapes.
Preiser is da best
damn...I would love to add Gunpla in there
I'm welly from indonesia and gunpla photography
Are their jobs for miniature photography i love doing it but i dont see a income from it 😪
Go to any dollar store and buy the daily pill containers for storage
Hi
Inspired by Tatsuya Tanaka perhaps?
Yes He is the best !
Many others artist use the same figures but he is the most famous right now
Sand sugar n candy will be nice
So can you actually make money with that kind of photography ?
