I remember some years up there when I lived in Anchorage. I couldn’t even get to the polar Cinemas when I worked there and I was just a half a block away because everybody was not able to get through the heavy snow and I couldn’t get a cab now the polar cinemas don’t exist anymore.
The snow can go, you sure did get hit with quite a bit of it down there this week, reminds me of the last few winters up here in fairbanks , good thing it melts fast there. after it snows up here it usually drops to -30f stay safe and look out for others who might need help in these conditions
So many people stuck in my neighborhood the following morning. One asked me to tow them out and I'm like to where? Cars were stuck all over at that time.🤷
That is one thing I really miss about living in Alaska is getting all that snow it is so beautiful when it falls, of course break up is another story then it's ugly and muddy
I gave you a thumbs up for living there. Over here in the Northeast, we are about to get our 1st snowfall of the season--1"-3" of snow is only forecasted.
Some of the snow on the sidewalks downtown is almost waist deep. Have to keep the dog on a leash because he likes to try and tunnel under it when I take hime out!
It would be if we had even half of the normal snow plowing/hauling budget that we have had for decades now. We don't though, so the now 3+ ft of snow not being plowed is costing lives.
I would be in heaven with all that snow. I love the snow, sadly we don't see much snow down here in the Tennessee Valley (Knoxville area). On the rare occasion we do get "snow" it's at best a light dusting but, the schools are cancelled non the less.
Blows my mind that no one is plowing anything. My property managers would be screaming at me from the top of their lungs if this much snow was not being plowed. Must be different up there.
great video, you made a statement nobody talks about... fuel for the generator.. they are useless without fuel. What do you do for heat when the power is out? Stay SAFE!!!
Lol that is nothing compared to 2006. I remember the blizzards at that time. This is a normal winter before 2011. After 2012 was when winters have been weak.
Lived in Alaska for 18 years. Now Colorado for 10. I've seen way worse weather here in Colorado. Blizzards that scared the shot out of me. Oh did I mention I climbed Denali 3 times.
i am planning on moving up there from Denver sometime this spring/summer just for the snow..... it used to snow like this in colorado before global warming changed that
Thanks for the upload man, wish I was up there, I love the snow.
Good job, it is nice to see what is going on in Anchorage.
I miss Anchorage some times, but then vids like this remind me what I'm missing out on by *NOT* living in Alaska anymore.
Reminds me of the lovely years I spent living in Northern BC. Now living on the Equator in East Africa!

Yep it doesn't snow like that anymore up there I grew up in Anchorage 1998-2012 2015-2016, and 2020. 98'-2010 were the better years of snow.
thanks for the snow removal footage. i get a kick out of watching big iron do their thing.
Thanks WOW THAT'S AWESOME AMAZING TERRIFIC

It is.

@@katyaa6556 How do your emergency services work? I'm envisioning an ambulance with skiis
@@ME-hm3tc that's very suburban of you. it's a lottttt more involved.

Actually, that storm was the worst in 22 years. Had two more after it back to back
Bring it on. Winter is prettier than brown and gray.
Looks like Tikahtnu Commons - I was living there when they were building that
Groovy baby
Wow, lots of snow! What's the temperature? And is there any heat when there is a power outage?
25-30 f
How exactly do residents afford things to live in Anchorage when things are 3-4x more than in the lower 48?
we just do
That Means it's Winter Today!
I used to walk to work 1991 snow was 3 feet was that the old Mapco gas station
Thanks for the update. Which one of your trucks were you driving?
