Three weeks ago, when I first watched this, I only understood around 30% of it; three weeks later (now), I am up to 80-90%. It constantly amazes me because even when I don't feel like I'm progressing, a few weeks later, when I watch a video I didn't understand, I can see that I've made progress and realize how much easier it is now. Let's continue the path into fluency! I appreciate your videos! ♥

      @@sakurachaan972 Hi,
I learned Hiragana and Katakana and then watched "Comprehensible Japanese" on RUclips, including "NihonGo Learning".
These both alone give you over 100 videos and therefore over 2000-4000 Words to memorize.
I also love to listen to "naru 💫日本語の先生" on RUclips as well as Daily Japanese with Naoko.
Right now I'm learning through Videogames and Mangas.
I do 50 Kanjis a day (Few new, rest is repeats) from RRTK, 1 chapter of Manga (Yotsuba right now) and 3 Videos of my choice (I'm watching Japanese Let's plays - Right now I'm watching: mkのゲーム実況ch
Search for him on RUclips, he's explaining everything he does numerous times and speaks clearly.
I also love to watch "Game gengo" on RUclips. He's Explaining Grammar, Vocabs and even JLPT related stuff through videogames.
I therefore do: "Kanji, 1 chapter of Manga, 3 videos of letsplays / animes" per day, so roundabout 2-3 hours a day related to Japanese.
      And it helps :)

Well, I got 95% of this video. My skills are improving! I noticed when I started re-watching Gntama that I understand a lot of the show as well now.
Language learning is strange because it does not often feel as though you are making progress more times than not. But occasionally something happens and it is like an epiphany.

I'm doing a pretty decent job at picking up Kanji, reading, grammar etc, but what would you suggest for listening comprehension? I'd love to be able to watch something like this and understand 95% too! Any recommendations on sharpening listening comp?

Hello, just wanted to say thank you so much for these amazing listening practice videos! I’ve been studying Japanese in Japan for 7 months or so but soon I have to go back to England. I can understand a decent amount but movies and things are too fast and difficult to understand, so these videos are absolutely perfect for me seeing as I will no longer be exposed to hearing Japanese as much. Please please keep making them if you can and I will watch every time!

My father got into the U.S. Navy in 1946. He was in the Pacific on a Sea going Tug. He taught me his great appreciation for the Japanese people. He said he was happy to give his Red Cross packages to Japanese people, because they were starving. When his ship docked in Japan, the ships dog would run onto the dock, and so many Japanese men chased the dog with knives in there hands. I asked why. Father said, if they caught the dog, it was a meal. Father never said a bad thing about the Japanese people. He taught me never to hate anyone.

I dont see many japanese films, but one thing that stood out to me was how the main male actor cried in the movie. It was very dramatic and loud, like he was screaming. Is this how Japanese men usually cry? It is very different to the more subdued sobs of Western men.

Part of it is Japanese films like to dramatize scenes heavily. This maybe be due to influences from Kabuki theater but I am not sure.
