Keep housing prices propped up at all costs. That’s the plan.

    We've officially entered the surreal.....
the return of CMHC insured 30 year Mortgages(10% Down) for first time home buyers when OSFI, the Governments own regulator, has itself already said they introduce unacceptable Banking/Financial system risk is not just mind boggling.... but in my view also blatantly telling of the degree of desperation entrenching.
Sucking first time Home buyers into far too onerous DEBT levels raising the limit to $1.5 Million as the 'greater fools' in support of Big Bank asset "chattel" valuations isn't just morally corrupt... it merely kicks the inevitable Can down the road again, albeit, not very far this time either !

Well said Marko. The timing for introducing this policy (aside from its debatable merit) is almost comical.

    Hi Marko.
I see that you in Canada have gone completely crazy.
Real estate is priced for you as if its walls were built of precious metal, gold or silver.
There is no real basis for a house or apartment to be worth so much, a million or more.
For young people, the best solution is to leave Canada and live some sort of normal life. Buying real estate in Canada is the same as voluntarily becoming a slave.
Paying so much just to have a roof over your head really doesn't make any sense.
    regards

I’m 49 hoping to end the rat race by 60 with above $1M. I know money is a liability to be exchanged for assets with real value like real estate (properties for rent) stocks (dividends) bonds (interest) But, what is it with bitcoin? I hear a lot about it and I'd love to diversify.

I was a stay at Home mom with no money in my IRA or any savings of my own, which was scary at 53 years of age. Three years ago I got a part time job and save everything I make. After 3 years, I am 56 yo and have put $9,000 in an IRA and $40,000 in my portfolio with CFA, Dorian j Townsend. Since the goal of getting a job was to invest for retirement and NOT up my lifestyle, I was able to scale this quickly to $150,000. If I can do this in a year, anyone can.
