After many many years of being outdated, the DJ Booth finally got a rework! This is by far the craziest rework a tower has gotten yet, completely changing the way it functions. In this video, I showcase all the stat changes, new abilities, how to properly use the tower, and then give my personal ranking of how good it is. Enjoy!

Fun fact: red track that makes DJ give damage buff stacks with mercenary's base damage buff meaning you can achieve 40% DAMAGE BUFF to any tower within merc & DJ range

@@TheWantedOneTaxEvasion I just realised you can get an admin to place a max war machine to stack with all of the others for a 100% damage buff. Imagine that on a ranger the damage would be insane.

I would recommend having 2 people bring DJ; 1 for discount, and 1 for range. And for the last hard waves, switch discount to damage.

Player 4 [Point already made.] Whatever support they deem necessary (besides DJ and Commander)

I would like to also mention, that you cannot use discount buff on a farms.
I see this as both buff and nerf, cause now players wont attempt to place farms close to dj, thus taking the space for important towers.
This game really needed that change.

Look, even without commander, your dj can be it's replacement. Red track is a good alt for the firerate boost commander gives, and the lesser range buff does not matter, it's only a 10% loss and most towers have good range anyway. Especially that one tower...

Dj is completely underrated right now. Yes it takes more time and skill to use dj, but if u use it correctly it can be really op.

this rework is a LOT better than the commander one in my opinion. the DJ was already one of the best towers in the game and now its even more overpowered. okay maybe not more overpowered but the damage buff is REALLY good.
and hey it now encourages player to actually strategize alot and keep interacting with their tower
It’s not quite better as I would say it’s pretty simular power to the pre rework dj as it’s more expensive now and takes more space, though it’s still a great tower

Players have to macro it now, its more expensive and new mechanic forcing you to use 1 buff at the time.
@@BoundedLeadthat’s just not true. At max level every track gives each buff, just with a halved effect. The DJ is also way more fun to use, the damage buff is 100% OP and overall, in everything but the discount buff and placement footprint, this tower was buffed. People getting angry at a tower requiring a brain to use is so frustrating to me. It is way better now. And the 5% less discount at max isn’t anywhere near a problem. Also how do people “NEED” to micro? Microing is helpful but it’s not mandatory to use the tower.

How to use DJ:
Levels 0-2: This is before you get the ability. I’d personally prefer using the damage or range tracks instead of the discount track, as the discount is only 7.5% at most, while the range & damage tracks have 15% & 12.5% respectively. Let’s be honest, a 5% discount on $5000 is only saving you $250, which your teammates wouldn’t prefer over more range & damage.
Levels 3-5: Use the discount track, and spam the ability as much as you can. Speaking from experience, you are BROKE in a quad fallen match. Unless it’s the final wave, discounts is way better.
What I like to do for levels 3-5 is constantly switch between the damage and discount tracks. Since the ability is a 30-second cooldown, it will always be ready just as you switch back to the discount.

The song switching mechanic is pretty cool, I can see myself microing into purple song to use ability then switching to another track for different buffs; also new neon dj skin has some cool effects 🧐
I have a stray that might help in strategies like hardcore: use damage, purple or whatever but not green and then when the wave is about to end you quickly switch it to green and you can make extra money and after you got the money you can switch it back to the buff you want
Bro DJ range track slowness works on the VOID RAVER,Dank already made a video of beating hardcore solo on crossroad,they did not made DJ worse if you can beat hardcore with it

I really like dj now. I played a few rounds and I find it useful to switch what disk I’m using. Like when fallen honour guard came I immediately switched to the damage disk and we shredded it. Then I just switched back to discount. The range disk is also useful because its knockback pulse can come in handy against a large crowd. Overall it’s much more enjoyable to use

the best part is multiple players can now use dj at once. the only thing you sacrifice is the slight range and discount and the fact that farms are no longer affected by the discount. The damage buff, cash income and enemy stalling does make up for it. So it's a slight nerf when it comes to what the dj was known for but a significant buff as a general support tower.
Somebody on Reddit got in a game with below, and he talked about tower evolutions coming later this year or early next year, and the war machine coming with it

Might be a possibility that we won't be needing commander, but am still not sure.
ALSO, as a tower heroes fan (cartoon edition of tds btw), i can see how this dj is a combo of our version of the full quad support (discount dog, balloon pal, Lemonade cat, spectre) in one slot. Which is OP, and out of all the other td games I've played, this is the only game with an "all in one" support
If you don't know about the full quad support in tower heroes and it's similarities of dj, it's said below:
Discount dog(discount obv) = the green track(no beat drop)
Balloon pal(Range) = purple track(no beat drop)
Spectre(damage) = red track(no beat drop)
Lemonade cat(farm) = green track(beat drop only)
Notes:
Ik it lemonade cat's counterpart should've been farm, but dj's still giving cash too, not to mention the
3rd tower to produce cash out of thin air.
I had to exclude tower heroes support special ability because they don't match tds dj, 1 of them do match commander ability(spectre).

corso yesterday some mad drama went down in your server if i had the chance i would eat popcorn it was so entertaining
I tested out the tower in all the special gamemodes alongside Hardcore, so I can confidently say that this tower is easily a top 5 tower
What's crazy is that in the first match I tried it, my teammates were saying it was a B or even C+ tower, and if I learned anything from the Commander rework is to give it some time to adjust, imma give it 1 more week before I come down with the final verdict, but I don't think it's gonna change much
One thing about the Green Track ability, a more indepth look for its earlier levels for each tower placed in range it actually gives 100+ for every tower in range. Thats all I could find

The dj is not that complicated if you just watch a video on it, or figure it out on your own via the descriptions ingame.
They should make it so that the DJ ring is always visible cause I can't know when the discount is active and end up upgrading towers without discount
did you know old enemies are back? if you click on survival and then gamemode, play molten and you have the old enemy models.

The fact that Corso can do everything that wikia does in 7 minutes just shows how much better it is to do informative videos with voice.
Fact: I tried DJ Buffs do stack By That I mean if 3 ppl all got DJ one can get purple, red, green tracks which can be good if they get the purple range buff.
I think what you should've done is tell how many towers need to cap the abilities powers
It's a buff and a nerf. It sucks that the dj costs an extra 10k, but the damage buff is nice. They also made ghost dj music worse :/

I loved this update since it has a BIG change it the DJ (one of my favorites) and it didn’t really nerf it, it just made this game A LOT more interesting. Love your videos btw ❤

Maybe the Best way for use the DJ is in duo/trio/squard is use 2 DJ one in 0-39 in Green track and the other DJ 0-40 or in purple track or Red track and in final wave the Green track DJ switch for purple track(if the other DJ is in Red track) and solo use the DJ in 0-39 in Green track in final wave use the Red or purple.
For me is only use 2 DJ the passive buff is good but use 2 DJ make use the other abilits and can buff you tower better than use the mercenary base (because the range

I love this tower I go and I keep it on red and I make sure to tell my teamates to tell me when to change to green so they can upgrade I personly wouldnt use range for bosses I would use dmg as the dj and towers are most likely in a perfect spot on the map to already hit most of the area or track and you most likely have people with mini and ranger so they have big ranges already
An important fact about the reworked dj is that the discount can no longer affect farms
Another thing that is change about DJ is its box it's little circle it's much bigger so you're going to need to place it quite early because it takes up a lot more space and this shower is just really great DJ can actually do some damage now

having 3 dj all on the different track make tower have 25% more range,15% discount and a 20% damage boost with one guy bringing commander well your just golden ngl so having 3 people bring dj and one with commander is VERY GOOD
The discount gives 15% at max but the trinity buffs says it gives 20% so they should fix it to give 20%
So in short: they made one of the most useful towers even more useful and even cooler

Dj does damage, level 3, it does 15 damage, level4, 25 damage, and level5, 50 damage and its firerate is 1 second
what ive been doing after every wave, go to green track then do the ablilty. do this 10 SECONDS before the wave ends for some easy money. once u get ur money just switch back to what ever track u were on. (DONT DO THIS IF THE NEXT WAVE IS HARD!!!!!1!1!1) ok ty :3

Ngl in the days the update launched it was so funny playing pizza party and everyone placing a different dj with a different skin and so the music becomes a cacophony of sounds.
Fun fact: discount buff from dj doesn't work on farms (idk it may be bug, but still...)
My only problem is how expensive it is so you have to use it more mid to end game instead of early mid game
Ik the gate keepers are gonna be malding in the closet, but I really do hope they bring back Ghost DJ, even if I have to pay for it

The new DJ is awesome but the base model needs some work, on level 2 i think the speaker goes through the table and on max level, the large speakers sides are see-through. Feels a bit rushed but it’s not too bad.
this tower used to be stupidly op where you placed it and forgot about it but now its op and you have to think about what to do with it instead of it being braindead
fun fact: the dj has a footprint the size the turret so it needs bigger space if u havent noticed yet
