    Incredibly good pianist. Have her Chopin Nocturnes and they are the best I've heard since long ago. A prodigy of sensitivity and a masterful technique. Ms Huangci is with no doubt, one of the greatest pianists of this Century. 🎶🎵👍😇

    Brilliant, just briliant...even if her tempos a bit too fast in the 1st and 3rd movements...I love her firm sense of rhythm...hopefully she'll continue playing at this level...astounding playing!!

    I will never understand why most pianists start this movement mezzo forte/ forte. It's clearly marked Pianissimo. However I did enjoy most of the interpretation.

    Geschwindigkeit ist nicht alles in der Musik. Viele kleine Fehler aufgrund dessen bzw. ab 22:30 die Skalen sind laut Manuskript nicht so durchzuführen!
    Alles in allem eine schöne Interpretation dieses Meisterwerks von L. v. Beethoven.

    The interpretation is good, I just don't like that she cheats with the octaves (which everyone but Horowitz and Rubinstein play glissando - which I don't like either -, and only Horowitz manages to play them at proper speed) by using both hands while sacrificing a few notes.

    • @pierrot6598
      @pierrot6598 5 месяцев назад

      Her hands are too small to comfortably play the octaves in an octave glissando fashion. However I have to say she manages to make her fingered octaves sound more like glissandos than anyone else who fingers the octaves.

    I always regard Clare as one of more musically mature young pianists with deeper understanding of music she plays especially in Austro-German repertoire. But this is a surprise to me that Beethoven is not at home in this particular performance. Maybe Liszt is housing sitting Instead because what she does here is a display of stunning finger-busting etude playing ignoring Beethoven's revolutionary harmonic progressions with a variety of orchestral sounds in mind. Not to denigrate Mussorgsky 's Pictures, but one can still get away with it by using a wrong emotional template to play it through. But one cannot be a revisionist playing Beethoven as his music is very specific in terms of sound, tempo and articulation. She misses the point amid speedy runs. It is a fallacy nowadays to generalize all performances (good or bad) as a matter of taste if all notes are hit correctly. This is not a good Beethoven rendition.

      As a music loving, non-musician I must say that despite the undeniable brilliance, talent and sheer laser-like playing of today's crop of younger players (the Yuja Wang crowd), I still can't compare them to the deep humanity of the great names of the past, such as Richter, Gilels, Rubinstein and Horowitz... I may not understand or be able to communicate the finer details/ specifics of music theory, but my ears have been tuned to the great pianists of the past, and as great a talent as these modern players are, I still cannot compare these young titans to the masters of the past. Their performance is undeniably wonderful, but I believe they need further to mature, and audiences of today need to be reminded of the incredible quality and humanity of past masters. Thank God for CD's (and all recorded music of the past, an incredible treasure)! Cheers, massolrac 😎🖖Live Long & Prosper!
