Ridge Racer the franchise sadly crashed and burned with Unbounded nearly a decade ago. A real shame, because this game and 7 on PS3 was IMO the pinnacle for the series. So glade to see RR6 make the Xbox BC cut!

I cry because Ridge Racer is dead. I am so happy Soulcalibur and Ace Combat made a comeback (and tekken has never gone away) but Ridge Racer was abandoned. modern gamers don't know how big Ridge Racer was back in the 90s and early 2000s. Sony would always have a Ridge Racer game close to release of their new consoles and would always show them on E3 as a way to show the power of their new hardware. We even got great memes like "Game is powered by Namco, its ridge racer, RIIIDGE RAAACER. rememberthatone "
I still play Ridge Racer 7 a lot (in 3D) and this is music to my ears. I love RR6 aswell and the soundtrack is superb!! I paid for a lot of the dlc music tracks back in the day. Im gonna have to re download em :)
@@D4YT0N4 mine isnt curved no. There are lots of 3Dtv,s out there. They dont make them anymore which i think is a shame. There is a list of 3D compatible ps3/360 and many of the are fantastic on ps3. WipeoutHD, Ridge Racer7, Motorstorm etc but for me the best game for 3D on PS3 is Trine2.
I was trying out my 360/original xbox games 2 weeks ago when my brothers came over on my newly bought Series X and was disappointed that every game I put in an error saying not supported yet came up, Those games we wanted to play were RR6, Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate and Dead or Alive 3, Now a few weeks later they are all playable so this is great news. Shame Street fighter 2 Anniversary is still not supported but 3 out of 4 is a win either way.

I'm so happy that the game finally got BC support. I still have the disc release still in my posession after all these years. Still sad a few other of my favorites didn't make the cut like Eternal Sonata.
Same, I wasn’t expecting RR6 to get BC support, thought it was doomed to some kind of licensing issues like the Project Gotham Racing games. Ironically I actually started looking into RR6 copies to play on an actual 360 this past week having no idea about the BC update, and the two copies I was watching both shot up way out of my budget after yesterday. @@strykah92 I hate it when that happens! I remember watching Modern Warfare 2 jump up from like £2 at the big used game shop here to about £30 when it got added to the BC - and I saw a few people buying it at that price! Wait until the initial hype dies off, then the cost should lower again.

This was the very first Xbox 360 game, I owned. I ended up selling it, because everyone who came over to play it with me, trash talked it, saying the game was absolute crap. So, I sold it, based on other's opinions, even though I loved the game. Needless to say, I regret that decision.

I wish the Xbox Series consoles had full 360 backwards compatibility with FPS boost and 4k, I understand it's not easy for them to do, The 360 is my favourite Xbox and I'd buy a Series X in a heartbeat if I could play my whole 360 library (Even better if we had full OG Xbox BC too)

How do you transfer your Xbox 360 Ridge Racer 6 gamesave to play on the newer systems? I cannot for the life of me get it to work and it keeps wanting to create a new game data on Xbox one X.... which I do not want to do! Any help would be much appreciated! :)
You'll be lucky to get a physical copy now, ive looked, crazy prices on eBay... maybe use USA gift card credit and log into the USA store with a vpn? I'm thinking of doing that but not sure if it would work..

Just bought this on CeX for 15€, manual included 😊 the game is just awesome, so fun. For anyone wondering, in Series X as soon as the disc is inserted, the game starts downloading (no data is needed from the disc)
Too bad it's not enhanced and still runs at 720p, would have been nice, if they bumped the resolution like they did on some other BC titles. Framerate was already locked 60fps on the 360 IIRC, so no need need to play it on a Series S/X unless you no longer own a 360 of course.
@KidDynamite500 actually most of the old games support auto HDR, but there are still some games do not support such as Yakuza 3, 4, 5. Microsoft claimed they tested each game and Digital Foundation said Microsoft applied different HDR value to each game to make it look well. But the games did not support was because these games already had too many almost white or over-exposed areas such as Yakusa 3. So they did not get auto HDR, otherwise, your image could be too bright or washed out.
@@alecatttheman896 I'm not sure if Xbox One X has applied anisotropic filtering to old games, but what I know is Xbox One X and XSX definitely speed up the old games' loading time due to their faster CPUs.
Only thing I can think of is what I've read recently with some of the games not working. People simply uninstalled the game and then installed it again and it worked. Might not work for everyone but worth a shot.
Hello, I think you may be able to still use your 100% game save. Here's what I did... once you've copied your old save to the cloud turn off your old Xbox, then power on your newer Xbox. First look up Ridge Racer 6 in the Microsoft store, scroll down find the "add-on" section for the game... click on that, look up all add-ons and you'll see each individual DLC cars like the old Xbox 360 game had... click and install each individual car... takes a little time but it's worth it as once you're done you will be able to use your old 100% game save without any issues!... Just worked for me as I couldn't load up my old save because the old DLC cars weren't showing up on new system... went to the add-ons, installed everything and I'm playing just like I did on my 360 without issues! Hope this helps and happy holidays to ya! 🎄😎✌️
They should work fine. You may not be able to use them in World Xplorer but I was able to use them in Single Race without issue. They always appear at the end of their category if everything else is locked.

It's been delisted long time ago, they are just allowing you to play physical version, which I had a brand new one bought long time ago with all free DLCs.
The digital version is available but it's US only. To get it you'd have to change your console region and buy some gift card to purchase the game like I did. It costs $10
I’m playing with my Fanatec CSL wheel…lots of dead zone in the middle so had to adjust wheel sensitivity to 210. At 180 it was more responsive but with drifting I was hitting the wheel lock limits a lot. Anyway, make sure your controller config is set to LT and RT as brake and acceleration. You should also get a little bit of rumble but not a ton of force feedback. Anyway it was fun after a bit of adjustment.
The Ridge Racer series was the only racing game maybe besides the early Need for Speeds that were just plain fun. The other popular racing games just don't do it for me.
I agree. I love the series. Type 4 was the best. 5 was also really good and beautiful as an early ps2 title. After that it went downhill. Disappointing graphics and gameplay going worse with each new release. I dream about a type 8. Kind of a spiritual successor to type 4 with the same physics and music! Some kind of remake with the same crazy car design updated for next gen. One can dream I guess.

They keep improving with their next entry. Someone should start a petition for Namco where we can all sign, so they can make this happen.
I thought the series went downhill at RR5. Never did care for how heavy the cars felt. It felt like you had to "muscle" them around corners, which was counter intuitive in a game that practically defined drift mechanics.
R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 is better than any RR game that came before or after it. Peak RR imo. After that the series seemed to be on a slow downward spiral.

You'll have to transfer your hard drive save on your 360 to cloud save and load that cloud save on your one x

actually xsx automatically changes the texture filtering to Anisotropic filtering on all old non-xsx games, so you get sharper image quality.

I bought it digitally and it worked. Try to power off your console and restart. Also be sure to have the latest system update. Hope that helps.

@@Monacomaverick true. I wasn't a big fan of the heavier gameplay in 5, but it looked amazing. And it was still playable. I still like it tbh.
R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 is better than any RR game that came before or after it. Peak RR imo. After that the series seemed to be on a slow downward spiral.
