Bill here: North Georgia and Chattanooga are our stomping grounds. There are so many sites to see there. Boy it will take you days to go everywhere. Unfortunately, I don't know of many places to boondock that I know about. Ruby Falls goes a mile down into Lookout mountain, it costs a bit but it's worth it. I highly recommend Lookout Point on Lookout Mountain, it is free & it is an AMAZING sight! Rock City you supposedly can see 7 states, but good luck finding them. It has to be a very clear day to see all around but it's still an awesome site. There are caves around there but usually only the locals know where they are. Anyway, all in all it's a great place to visit, especially in a truck camper.
Hey JJ, this is Bill & Nancy. A.H. Stephens State Park is just a down the road a few miles from us! We are in Watkinsville, Georgia. We would like to meet you & have a cup of coffee with you! We been watching your videos for over a year now. We have free hookups, water, power & sewer in the backyard. Come on by! There is a lot of Civil War stuff in Georgia & Tennessee. Check out Chickamauga Battlefield in North West Georgia & Lookout Mountain, Ruby Falls, The Incline, The Chattanooga Choo Choo in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Those are all just a few cool things to see in our home town (Chattanooga). Bill for grace no spaces at yahoo is a good way to tell us what you see. In case you don't know, it is okay to boondock in the rest areas in Georgia.
The wife pointed out that you came near our house. I'm sorry we missed you. I explain to her that even though you came close you might not posted till a day or two later. She's a scientist but sometimes she doesn't have the common sense it takes to get out of the rain. Good woman though. If you're in North GA area, make sure and check out Chickamauga battle field, It's huge and 100's of hiking trails, well maybe not 100's but a lot, plus a tower. Also check out Lookout mountain sites, point park is free on top, don't pass up Ruby falls, you hike., I think a mile into the mountain and it's a pretty easy path, all laid out. Rock city of course and make sure and use the incline. I'm NOT so sure I would go the traditional route up the mountain with your rig. I mean I guess you could but you would get close to the rocks. If you do then you might want to go down through the Coves at the base of the mountain through St. Elmo going South there is a much easier road up the mountain but it's about an hour or so out of your way. However the Cloves is breath taken scenery. You'll love the trip. There is so much to see around Chattanooga Tn and all around there. We now have a 2024, 975 Lance, it's not what we wanted but it's ok. Powered by a 3500 dually, older truck but seems ok. So we might tag along if you like older people. I don't walk good but Nancy has never seen Ruby falls. I have! It is something to see that's for sure. Chattanooga and the South is BIG on the civl war as you'll see. I know the park like the back of my hand for when we were kids I rode all over the park on bike, ,my cousin and I did. Boy to be that young again. Anyway kind of disappointed we didn't meet being so close but if I remember right you have a drainage on your battery. We've watch every video but we don''t alway comment, in fact I had to create another account to comment tonight. Safe travels my cyber friend, Bill in GA to Ga
Hi Bill, yes my videos are usually 1 to 1 1/2 weeks behind. I find it easier that way incase I stay in one place for a week I don't have to put out a video. I will definitely keep all this in mind for my next visit. Thank you.
