Since I started making these videos in 2017, I have been lucky enough to receive the support of some manufacturers with materials to use in my videos. Since May 2018, Chestnut Products have provided me with stains, an iridescent paints sample set, lacquers and waxes. I'd like to thank them for their kind and generous support. Martin Saban-Smith has provided me with a sample set of Intrinisic Colours.
All other products and tools, unless where indicated, have been bought from suppliers at retail prices. Products mentioned in my videos are for information purposes so that viewers know what I have used.

Stewart your accent and witty sense of humor make your beautiful work so much more pleasing. Thanks for a great process on this one. Also, when you pulled out that big bladed spinner I almost had a cow! The result is awesome. I look forward to your next adventure.

Nice colors, would be interesting in yellows. Kind of a sunflower look.

Thank you for sharing my friend. I love the idea of dry brushing the pigment in the wax. Then wipe it out and maybe a seal coat as i could imagine with use the wax may bleed off over time with handeling or items that the bowl may eventually contain. Either way it's a great exploration and thank you for sharing.

"And that got me thinking..." That's why we like your videos, that element of danger. 😉 Speaking of danger, when you started the vacuum and Arbortech it occurred to me that if you wanted to try acting the role as the Dentist in Little Shop of Horrors would suit you well.
But I digress. Interesting idea, and I like the strength of the colors. If those waxes could be blended with a reducer could you get a color continuum, from one to the other? Could be another effect. I'll have to get my crayons out.

Cheers, Bill - they dilute nicely in acrylic medium...even water if pushed!

Loving the rainbow waxes. I've only done one piece so but it worked well. The red or the blue???? Personally I prefer the blue. Also welcome to the Funnel Club 😋

Is there an advantage of using color wax over using paint? Does the wax ever totally dry?
I like the texturing technique. This will be my next trial bowl.

Thanks, Chuck! Rainbow Wax is probably misnamed as it isn't really a wax...it's acrylic based so it dries like an acrylic paint. I've just tried to rub it off the rim and it doesn't budge. Not sure it's available in the US though....

I'm always uncertain about the quality of the finish on a textured piece. I suppose I need to get over the mental hurdle to accept good work that isn't necessarily a 10 on the shine scale. The sheen on your experiment looks great to me.

Cheers, Jay! It's odd how often a high gloss on a textured surface can hide the colour.

I don't like to be negative, Stewart, but it's not my favorite. It seems the colors blended together a little too much for my taste. I also like the thumb platter better. Maybe next go around will have better results.
