*when you're an alto so you have absolutely no problem with the original key of the song*
Whenever someone transposes songs that were originally sung by men up to a key more suitable for the "female voice", I barely ever actually try them because they are always transposed a half-step (maybe even whole step) higher than what my voice can comfortably sing...it would be nice to see some songs transposed to a key more suitable for altos rather than defaulting to soprano. :)
I'm a really low alto and will a bit of work with my singing teacher this key was great. It was a challenge but without challenging myself I can't improve
this key is actually more for mezzo than sop (I’m a soprano and this is slightly too low). Most female singers are mezzo soprano so it makes sense for this to be in a key for mezzo rather than alto or soprano. Most of the female voice transpositions are done for this voice type because it is the most common among females. I hope this makes sense :)

@@rebecca___578 The most common vocal type for women is soprano. This is the key that is probably best for under developed singers that really shouldn't be given a vocal classification because they don't have enough training for it to really matter. The ranges are for experienced professionals and come from Italian opera so you could call a lot of alto part singers as mezzo but it wouldn't make sense as most likely their ranges aren't developed and choirs put people in parts based on need first because alto parts are generally harmony and untrained singers struggle. Not only that but most of the alto singers are sopranos and just never developed that part of their voice because they never sang a higher part and never needed too.
Also, Alto singers or what is technically contralto because there isn't an official "alto" voice type, is extremely low and rare so most likely an accompaniment channel is going to go with what the average female singer is able to perform.

Keeping it in A Major is totally fine, I just can't find an instrumental anywhere and I think it would be a fitting audition song for me in a vocal sense and character acting.
