Thanks bud, I'm glad you enjoyed it. The fishing is very quiet up here at the moment but hopefully things will improve soon. Hope you're well, cheers 👍
I've been starting to get the urge to go out fishing again because of your video's Gareth, my father suffered a bleed on the brain early last year and still hasn't fully recovered, he is getting there though slowly but surely! I haven't been out fishing since then, I haven't had the motivation or desire to go out fishing without him, but watching your video's gives me the itch to wet the lines every time I watch. so I'm going to do just that this weekend if the wind doesn't put an end to that idea! Cheers Gareth, love seeing a new video from you every time. All the best mate!
I'm sorry to hear about your father Adam, I hope he can make a full recovery soon, it can't be easy for you all. I'm pleased that the videos have helped you and it's great that you're going to get out this weekend, I'm sure you'll have a good time! Cheers bud, all the best 👍
I agree, I gave up fishing due to work, miss it… but there is some real artistic talent in your videos Gareth, and this and GPS fishing are the only two I now watch… though both very different.
Nice video Just told the wife Gareth's on you tube she's happy keeps me quiet and chilled out always a great show mate Deffo best show on. I started my business 17 years ago and never looked back go for it 👍🏼👍🏼
@vincenzo3915 Thank you Vince, nice of you to say and I'm glad the videos keep you quiet and chilled ha! Good on you for starting your own business, it's admirable, much respect. Enjoy the weekend, take it easy 👍
Great videos Gareth I am in the same mind wave well done for your sevice to your work I am 37 years in retail if I can I am finished working at 60. I will have served 40 year in a department store no more for me I sincerely hope tight lines mate keep well stay safe mate 🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
That's impressive Adam, well done. It will be nice if you can finish at 60, you can enjoy life then and spend your days as you wish. I'd also like to retire at 60, whether that be from work or from any form of self employment. Cheers bud, take it easy 👍
Great watch again Gareth 👍 just wanted to say that I watch a lot of fishing channels and this one offers something a bit different even my wife watches your channel ❤👌👍
Thank you Leighton. The fishing is very hard work at the moment but we can only but try. Nice that your wife also enjoys the channel, that's good to hear. Cheers bud 👍♥️
Another great chilled video Gareth, and yes as you said back in the day we’d get a bucket full of Eel’s to well over 3lb but now few and far between, also still protected under law and not to be taken at all. Not fished the Ebbw bit St brides was over the yrs a cracking place and can still produce some good fish but not like yrs gone by. Keep do in g what your doing mate love the videos and need to get out myself now for some serious sessions 🎣🎣🎣🎣
Thank you Marc, much appreciated. Yes it's a shame that the Eels have declined so rapidly, I hope they can make a comeback one day. Yes this Ebbw spot can fish well on its day, although it wasn't to be on this occasion. Hopefully you can get a session in soon. Cheers bud, take care 👍
Hi Gareth, I love that spot, many happy memories of when I was a kid fishing around that area. Can you tell me where you park when you fish the opposite side of the month, by the power station, please. Keep the video's coming buddy.
Thank you Paul, great spot isn't it. As for the power station, this is not an easy mark to get to and if I was you, I'd go there with someone else when fishing it for the first time. You park outside of the Wetlands Centre on the road/grass verge. Walk into the Wetlands carpark, taking the path to the far right. Keep going (takes a while) until you come to the edge of the marshland, you'll see a wooden telegraph pole in the marsh and it's at this point that you need to climb down off the path onto the Marshland (through the reeds). Keep going right until you reach the mark. It's a 25 minute walk and wellies will be required. I would suggest having a walk down there first to check it all out as it's not easy.
Cheers gareth. I used to fish the mud ledges straight in front the wetlands when we were kids. Then the wetlands were giant ash ponds from the power station. It's gotta be 20 years since I last fished there, we used to catch loads of good size rays, big conger and massive Dover sole off the ledges. We used you get there on our bicycles, riding around the ash ponds to get to the sea wall. Now I'm a bit older the bike has retired and I use the car lol. I wasn't sure were to park as the wetlands charge to park in they're carpark. Thanks I'll definitely take a walk down there and have a look, I might even take my binoculars and look at the wild life.
I think about it often Alan, maybe we'll crack the code one day! Thank you, it was to good to get a couple of sessions in last week, I'll hopefully be out again shortly. Cheers 👍
Hi Gareth what stunning views , another great video my Friday night treat great to hear your comments work is just a means to an end I find this time of year for fishing hard work thanks again for a wonderful video
You're welcome Michael, glad you enjoyed it. Yes it certainly is hard work, scratching around for a bite at the moment but hopefully things will improve soon. Thank you for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍
Hi gareth wow is it really two years since you caught that chunky flounder i find your estuary videos very interesting are you going to make another transporter bridge video. That was the first video of yours i watched and ive loved everyone since keep doing it .all the best tight lines 6:23 😮😊
Time certainly does fly Michael, I don't know where it goes ha! That Transporter Bridge spot has been closed off for the past 18 months as the flood defence bund has been upgraded, although it's opening again in 3 weeks and I'll definitely be down there having a go! Cheers bud, all the best 👍
One thing I've noticed with your channel apart from the pleasurable viewing, is the number of comments. Most channels can get the views but having the comments shows the viewer appreciation. Lovely video again.
Thank you Jeff, nice of you to say. Yes I do seem to get a lot of comments, I'm not sure why but there we are ha! The fishing up here is very hard work at the moment, hopefully things will pick up soon. Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍
It’s good to be in the outdoors and give your head a break from the stress of all the shit that’s going on in the world and every day living and the fishing is a bonus and getting a few fish all the better. Good luck buddy . A fisherman from the Wirral. Keep it going 😊😊😊
Spot on bud, spot on. Just nice being out there isn't it, spending a few hours next to the water. That's what I look forward to the most these days! Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍
As regards your well-chosen quotation, when others "think for you" you can be pretty sure that their thoughts will not be tailored to your general wellbeing. The last generation of independent thinkers went out with the arrival of social media, where you join a kind of "herd thinking", which is easy and requires no effort. The meditative state that anglers attain when standing alone, watching the rod tip is a kind of "ecstatic state" which goes beyond thought. Few people know what this means. Not only this, but the "white noise" of the surf or the wierpool or swirling water of a stream penetrates into the mind, tunes you into something beyond your immediate surroundings. This is why sometimes it's difficult returning to "reality" after a nice long solo fishing session.
Yes I'd agree with you there Colin, social media has certainly been a factor in increasing the 'herd' way of thinking, it makes it easier to just tag along, instead of applying your own thoughts. Thankfully, I don't use it! I changed when I lost Dad, it was like I had an awakening and now I'm definitely a rational thinker, I'd never let anyone think for me! Too true, watching those rods allow the eyes and mind to drift into a much deeper state and as you say, only us anglers know what that feels like. Cheers 👍
Mate and I fished a local mark yesterday the loop road as fancied a change. We target flounder same set up as u 7 hooks. No flounder. Just the one green eel. For me. And a blank for my mate. After 5 hours. Nice slow fishing. As the tied was only small 9.6.m so. You’re not on your own. Mate. Look forward to seeing your next video 👍👍
Yes it seems to be hard work at the moment Lee, hopefully things will improve soon. Good that you got out yesterday for a few hours, just nice being next to the water isn't it...and of course, there's always next time! Cheers bud, take care 👍
that was real clever how you caught the sound of the wing beats of those 2 swans , then the trip ,lol ,now there is a blast from the past ,i grew up in cwmcarn i used to visit the banks of the EBBW it was known as the GRAVY RIVER by us kids because of its colour and it was devoid of life as well ,ie no living thing could survive in it including fish .
Thank you Les, conditions were nice and calm and so it was a little easier to film, hence the Swan footage. The gravy River, that's interesting, although not surprising given the industry at the time. My local River was known as the Grey River and again, not much could live in it, it's cleaner these days. Cheers bud, take it easy 👍
Hi Gareth mate loved the music atvthe beginning of the video and as always honestly enjoyed the video...and you beat the blank mate woop woop..keep the good work up mate have a lovely weekend
Thanks Nathan, it was nice to have some calm weather for a change, all be it the fishing was slow ha! I'll keep plugging away though and hopefully things will improve soon. Hope all is good with you mate, you have a good weekend too... cheers 👍
Hi Gareth!! Always a great moment to see your new vid notification! I usually have a bunch waiting for me to watch but I always go to yours first! Awesome camerawork once again mate! Your deep appreciation for the natural world shines through in every frame! Whatever and however many you catch is secondary to the beautiful cinematography and heartfelt, honest chats you have with us! God bless.....Oh and by the way, talking of purposes.....I think you are already living yours
Thank you Lee, I appreciate the kind words. The fishing up my way is very hard work at the moment, although I still try my best to make a relaxing watch. The mouth of the River Ebbw is a stunning spot and the wildlife is usually on good form, always a pleasure being there. I often wonder if I have a purpose, you could be right. Cheers bud, enjoy the weekend 👍
@riversidewithme you too mate! Its been 40 years since I left Newport and I was only a kid so my memories are vague. Its great to see the places Im sure my Dad took me back then. Thanks Gareth! Have a great next session!
Just love your videos Gareth so calming, the music is always apt for the scenery. By the way! Did you get on that train😂 take care, have a good weekend 🤗
Thank you Patricia, appreciated as always. The fishing is really hard at the moment but I enjoy being at these beautiful places, they're good for the soul! I didn't get on the train, maybe next time ha! You too, have a good one 👍
Great videos Gareth.. I'm from Pontypool but I spend winter in Thailand now but great to watch how you're getting on in the cold there! BTW, why do we add 1.7m to the tide height in Newport?
Thank you Hadyn. It's been quite cold here of late and so I don't blame you for spending the winter in Thailand! It's because when I was younger, the tide heights were shown differently to what they are now. It's a bit like imperial and metric, people have their preferences. So for old school heights, you add 1.7m for Newport, 3.2m for Barry etc. Like myself, a lot of my subscribers are old school, hence why I do it but it's not essential. Cheers 👍
You're welcome bud. I've not fished Brean for ages, I must give it another go soon, I fished there with Dad a few times. Cheers as always, take it easy 👍
Shore fishing seems to have taken a turn for the worst in the last few years Gareth. Its nice to look back at the good years and memories of what we used to catch. Great video and some lovely scenery again .
Yes you're right there Mick, it's nothing compared to when I was a kid. I'm scratching around for a bite these days, whereas years ago it was often a fish fest, we had some of the best Cod fishing in the country around Newport. Thank you for watching, have a nice weekend bud 👍
Another cracking video as usual Gareth love watching every single one so relaxing and your the best channel on RUclips 💯look forward to seeing many more 👍👍🎣🎣
Thank you Jon, your kind words are appreciated. I don't think my channel is the best but nice of you to say anyway. Have a good weekend bud, take it easy 👍
@ And you to Gareth have a great weekend too and by far your channel is the most relaxing and most enjoyable of them all I’m so happy when I see you’ve got a new video out it makes my day thank you so much for putting a smile on my face every single time thank you from the bottom of my heart and yes you are the best channel on RUclips by far thank you so very much 👍🎣
LOVE YOUR CHANNEL Gareth ! Heard you talking about the good 'ole days with cod and big whiting up the channel on the mud. Just a thought, but do you think this might be due to the change in the eco system due to the removal of the weird on the Severn? This has been great for the Alice Shad and Salmon, but perhaps it makes the upper muddy sections of the estuary less attractive for some ( or all ?) Saltwater species ? Would love to hear your thoughts on this mate ?
Thank you Andy, I appreciate that. Not that I'm an expert but I think it's a combination of factors. An increase in chemical pollution, higher phosphate levels which have interfered with the bottom of the food chain and so no food for the fish. The dumping of thousands of tons of silt in the estuary, associated with the Hinkley Point project...again, killing off the shrimp etc. The estuary is full of rubbish, I've never seen it so bad and of course, years of commercial overfishing didn't help. As for the removal of the weirs, this could also be a factor, it makes sense. The estuary's ecosystem appears to be dying a slow death, it's sad. Hopefully one day things will improve. Cheers 👍
Great video Gareth keep up the good work mate really enjoy watching your videos, helps me get through the week and gives me the inspiration the get the rods out in these hard times. Top man gar hopefully get to meet up on session around Newport in the future 👍🏻
Thank you David, much appreciated, I'm pleased to hear that you enjoy the videos. The fishing seems to be hard work at the moment but hopefully things will improve soon and no doubt I'll bump into you down on the mud. Cheers bud 👍
Another brilliant video again mate. Just opening a can of beer and going to watch your pink house video from yesterday which i havnt seen yet.👍 Have a good weekend mate. Went and had a look at the power station mark that you gave me advice on getting there just the other day. Looks a cracking spot. So thank you again for the advice mate. Much appreciated.
A can of beer on a Friday...sounds like a plan Gareth! Ah yes, I love the Power Station mark, many great memories from over the years and some mice fish too! You too bud, have a good one... cheers 👍
Another good video gareth I've been out twice now and blaked few bites but didn't come to nout like you say it nice just to get out an have chill out lol
@riversidewithme you too mate...Hopefully gonna get out Saturday, but tides a bit funny here this weekend...but hopefully I'll be able to grab a few hours...
nice one gar , something ive never fished for is flounder , dabs and plaice no idea why gar . i will talk to my local boys and find somewhere and give that a go mate great vid as always gareth cheers matey hope your all well . gareth follow your heart not your head and do what you want to do cheers brother stay safe
Thank you Tony. Back in the day, Dad and I used to catch loads of flatties in the local tidal rivers. I hardly catch any now but I still enjoy fishing for them, always nice to see and hopefully you can fish for them soon, it can be good fun. Wise words mate, wise words indeed, we should indeed follow our heart, thank you! Nice Codling in your recent video, beautiful looking fish! Cheers Tone, see you out there one day 👍
@@riversidewithme thanks gar , i will be over your side of the pond in a few weeks for a few sessions gar i will let you know when see if we can meet up for coffee or a session gar . take care mate
Thank you John, it was nice to have some calm weather. Haha yes, there's only so much nagging one can take, roll on retirement 😂. Cheers bud, have a good weekend 👍
Thanks so much for a calm end to a frustrating week, Gareth. Next week will be a 4 day working week as I am planning to fish an early tide on the Friday. Like you, it's going fishing which is the prime goal and fish are a bonus (although I have done ok since Christmas!) Reminiscing about fishing in the past is one of life's great pleasures, so keep it up - I will be 61 soon so I most of the fish I catch in my lifetime will be in the past 😊
You're welcome Neil, I'm glad you found it calming. I bet you're looking forward to your 4 day working week next week, sounds perfect! Definitely, I love reminiscing, it keeps those memories alive. Good luck for next Friday, tight lines bud! 👍
Sea fishing here pretty hard 2 mate . Not had my sea rods out for a few months concentrating on the coarse fishing . So your vids r a great substitute thanks
Yes I don't blame you Gary, the sea fishing is very tough at the moment. I might try my local brook soon, see if there's any Dace and Chub about. Cheers bud 👍
Hi Gareth. Those 2 lads are sound lads, j know them, good keen anglers to. On this day, I was meant asked to go with John and Wayne, but I'd made plans to fish pill jetty off the bank. I caught 2 flounder, and one was huge, like a 2 pounder. Been again today, same place and caught a bass. Pill jetty bank is fishing ok atm. But it won't see me for dust once the transporter bank opens 😂 can't wait! 👍
Yes they are good lads Dave, I had a nice chat with them. Well done on the flounder, can't argue with a 2 pounder, that's a lovely fish! Yes definitely, I'll be down the transporter bank as soon as it opens ha, another 3 weeks to go apparently. Cheers bud, all the best 👍
Dad and I loved that mark God bless him, congers, cod, eels, whighting the biggest I ever seen, my dad would give me money for ragworm lol, I would buy sweets and take earth worms, lol I can hear him shouting at me know, wheres the bloody ragworm I gave you money for. Keep up the fantastic video Gareth and yes we all question our lives why me why am I me and not him ect, your an amazing guy and all of us really appreciate the time and effort you put into your RUclips channel.
You little tinker Les, buying sweets instead of ragworm, terrible behaviour haha! Great memories, great memories indeed! Cracking mark isn't it, as you say it was superb back in the day, it produced some lovely fish. Thank you for the kind words, much appreciated. Have a good weekend 👍
Another beautiful video, ❤ was nice to see wayne and Jon in the video. Good mate with wayne from back in the wsf days. I know there are alot, but just wondering of youbwould share your thoughts on lack of cod especially this winter, my self and wayne allways had a few sessions in the newport marks.
Thank you Michael, much appreciated. Yes nice lads in fairness, we had a good chat on the bank. In my humble opinion, I think the Cod glory days have long gone locally. I think it's a combination of chemical pollution, much higher phosphate levels, the dumping of thousands of tons of silt (Hinkley Point project), continued overfishing and also, the estuary is full of rubbish, I've never seen so much. The food chain has been adversely affected and it's sad. I hope that we'll see an improvement at some point. Cheers bud 👍
Cheers Gareth, another Friday evening having a chuckle 😁 You are right about priorities at work, I am soon to take early retirement and let all the youngsters do their bit 😜 Make it work for you as much as possible. Time for more fishing for me. Have a good weekend and thanks again for the video 🎣
Early retirement... I'm very jealous of you Andy, I really am ha! Thanks bud, it was an enjoyable couple of sessions, decent bit of weather for a change! You too, have a good one and enjoy 👍
Another great video mate You sure go beautiful places to fish Its all about getting out and enjoying the fresh air and if you catch its a bonus Hopefully il be getting down treco bay beginning of feb Stay safe in this storm Tight lines
Thank you mate, appreciated as always. Yes you're right there, just nice being next to the water isn't it. Hope you have an enjoyable time down at Trecco, I'm sure you will! Cheers 👍
Absolutely lovely video Gareth, The fish didn't want to come out to play today but the senic shots and the music was wonderful, like you say , it's not just about fishing . Look forward to your next video , Cheers.
Thank you Philip. In all honesty I expected the fishing to be tough before I even cast out, although it was nice to have a go. Decent bit of weather which made a nice change, nice and still. Hope all is good with you...cheers 👍
Hi Gareth it was a pleasure to met u face to face enjoyed the chat we had.. Finley injoyed your videos again and in was laughing as he do love him.. tight lines buddy see u on the banks..
It was nice to meet you too John, I enjoyed the chat. Haha that's great, I'm pleased that your son enjoyed the video, bless him. Cheers bud, have a good weekend 👍
Thanks again Gareth, nice and relaxing after the stress of Storm Eowyn last night. Very bad over here in Ireland, scary bad. I love your camera work and your ability to use a pretty industrial landscape and reveal the actual beauty of it. You have a unique talent and again your choice of music is second to none. Take care mate .
Thank you Jeff, appreciated as always. Sorry to hear that you took the brunt of the storm, not a.nice experience. We had a bit of wind and rain but we missed the worst of it. I appreciate the kind words...the fishing is really hard at the moment although it's always a pleasure spending time at these beautiful places. Have a good weekend, enjoy 👍
Another nice video Gareth . I used to fish with my Grandfather and an uncle many many years ago . I’m 65 now and seriously considering trying again . Inspired by your good self . Steve .
Thank you Stephen, much appreciated. The fishing is quiet at the moment but hopefully things will pick up soon. I'm pleased to hear that you're thinking of making a fishing comeback, no doubt you'll have many enjoyable sessions. Cheers 👍
@riversidewithme That makes you a critical thinker, not a member of the herd. I was taught to question things from childhood and feel it's a trait that has served me well so far. Take a step back, analyse what's going on and make your own informed decisions. Another serious quote I remember is that there's 7billion pairs of eyes, as we're all different that leads to equally as many opinions
@@davidwilliams4830Spot on David, spot on...you sound like me ha! I question everything and don't fall for the nonsense. I guess you could say that I'm awakened! Nice quote, I might have to steal that one off you! 👍
I think quite a lot of us are stuck in the past Gareth, especially when fishing is concerned, I live not too far away from you and have fished most of the marks you have shown on your channel. I have enjoyed every single second of it too. Places like Redwick, Sudbrook, Goldcliff used to be 'the' mark for winter cod. Rarely went to Redwick without seeing a decent fish being caught. I'm afraid those days are long gone. It's a shame. It's our generation that are to blame I'm afraid. Pollution, global warming millions of tons of plastic floating in the sea. Makes me very sad indeed. On an up note. Great video, as usual. You could fish in the bath and stilll watch it. Keep them coming.
Thank you Martin, I appreciate the kind words. Yes you're right, the glory days have long gone. I'm glad I experienced the world class fishing when I was a kid, it's these memories that keep us going I think. So much rubbish and pollution in the estuary now, it's really sad and I can't see things recovering in my lifetime. Although we can live in hope. Cheers bud, enjoy the weekend 👍
Hi Gareth. Two video's for the price of one, cracking. I love being out fishing on my own, thinking of the past and present. Stuck in the house with flu at the moment. But I've got you to watch. One of your purpose is bringing videos to people, and making them happy. Well all the best from south west Wales 👍.
Sorry to hear that bud, hope you start to feel better soon. The fishing up here is really hard work at the moment but it's still nice to be out there, next to the water. Thank you for the kind words, much appreciated 👍
Thank you Ed. Yes I agree, it's getting harder and harder, it's all a bit lifeless, makes me sad. It's now late January and I've still not caught a Flounder or a Codling from the estuary this winter. Years ago, I'd have had loads by now. Cheers as always 👍
Well Gareth mate that was another awesome video and it was nice to see two different sessions in one video hope you have a fab weekend and stay safe from all this weather can't wait to see your next video drop take it easy with Cadbury's caramel mate🙂👍🎣
Thank you Simon, appreciated as always bud. It was nice to fit two sessions in last week, that doesn't happen often ha! Unfortunately the local shop has run out of Cadbury's Caramel and so it will have to be a Topic instead! Cheers bud, enjoy the weekend 👍
Always a pleasure to watch your videos Gareth. I was Pike fishing with my son this evening at Peterstone lakes, then a short walk up the Sea Wall after. We'll be heading to St Brides again tomorrow. Who knows if I blank or not. I'll throw the kitchen sink at it. All about the chill for me
Thanks bud, always appreciated. Nice that you had an evening on the Pike with your son, good stuff. Good luck down at St Brides tomorrow, just nice spending a few hours next to the water isn't it, that's what it's all about. All the best 👍
Hi Gar. Great video again! Tell John not to worry too much about his son's diagnosis. My daughter was diagnosed with autism in 2009. She didn't speak till she was 5. She's now in college studying health and social care and has a part time job in Greggs! He'll be fine.
Thank you Ceri, appreciated as always. Good to hear that your daughter is doing well, that's great. My cousin was the same, he didn't speak until much later on but he's fine now and you wouldn't even know he had autism. Cheers bud, enjoy the weekend 👍
I always took my Austistic boys fishing, they always enjyed the experience, and mostly releasing the fish! I am ex military and go fishing to help with PTSD, and support disabled and other PTSD sufferers when possible - angling is always a great therapy for many conditions.
Yes I agree Andy, angling can help with so many things, it certainly does wonders for my mental health and I can understand why you use it to help with your PTSD. Keep on fishing, that's what I say! Cheers bud 👍
Hi Gareth, Multi venue vids …😃 what ever next. I think you seem happier than your last vid? Keep up the good work…looking forward to next show already. Tight lines Mate.
Yes you're right there bud, it certainly is hard work, all a bit lifeless at the moment. Just nice being out there though isn't it, spending a few hours next to the water! Enjoy the weekend 👍
Just what I needed should be back out soon lined up another car after that crash. We are coming to Wales soon Newport only it's not a fishing trip. Music. Next day got to go to Barry every one loved Gavin and Stacey bet Barry had some good cod fishing back in the day woflin on a bit but thanks for the first class show
Glad you have another car lined up John, that's great. Hope you have a nice time at Newport and Barry. Both used to be superb for Cod back in the day, thankfully I got to experience it! Cheers bud, take it easy now 👍
Beautifully shot scenery Gareth and the choice of music on the introduction was lovely 👍 Can you list the artists please? Thanks for posting Gareth your films and content are always much appreciated , I’m still working on the lottery win Win some money and do some good 🤞
Thank you Shaun, nice bit of weather for a change, much easier to film when it's still. The track is called Fade in Time and the artist is Anita Tatlow, I've used a few of her songs now! Good luck with the lottery, I'm sure your numbers will come up before spring!! Cheers bud 👍
Still too much fresh water in the channel I blanked twice gareth thats my excuse anyway ,so cheer up you got me 2_0 take care ty for great video ,mark cardiff x
That's my excuse too Mark...you can't beat a good excuse can you ha! Hopefully things will improve soon with a bit of luck. Have a good weekend bud, take it easy 👍
Cheers Mick 👍
Wat can I say ,another very entertaining vid ,as always , 😉
Thanks John. The fishing is hard work around here at the moment but it's still nice to wet a line isn't it. Cheers for watching, all the best 👍
Gar, you do your bit for all of us. X
Thank you Rick, nice of you to say. Hope all is good with you bud...cheers 👍
Hi Gareth another great vidieo keep up the good work
Thank you Philip, appreciated as always. Hope all is good with you... cheers 👍
Great viewing as usual matey, keep being you 👍.
Thank you Christopher. The fishing is very hard work up here at the moment but it can only improve ha! Cheers as always, take it easy 👍
Another great watch Gareth, I worked hard, had a bit of a wake up call so retired. Does make you think.
Thank you Richard. Yes I don't blame you, I suppose we never know what's around the corner. Cheers bud, all the best 👍
Great video, nice to see you beat the blank, look forward to your next one, take care an all the best,
Thank you bud, appreciated as always. Hope all is good with your end, take it easy 👍
It's just what I needed after a long week. Great video again, Gar. Make's me want to travel your way again soon, may try Goldcliff again. Tight lines.
I couldn't tell you how many different fishing channels I watch but I can tell you this one is the cream of the crop bro 🎣✌🎣
Thank you Lee, nice of you to say. I don't think my videos are that good but I'm glad you enjoy them. Have a good weekend 👍
I agree, I gave up fishing due to work, miss it… but there is some real artistic talent in your videos Gareth, and this and GPS fishing are the only two I now watch… though both very different.
@@paf1966Thanks bud, nice of you to say, I appreciate that. Hopefully more to come soon 👍

Fabulous filming Gareth, the catching is always a bonus 👌🐟🎣
Thank you Kevin, appreciated as always. Yes you're right, the fish are indeed a bonus, it's just nice to be out there. Cheers bud 👍
@paulbryant6950 Good memories Paul, good memories 👍
So correct again, what's it all about,I have thought that many times, thanks again for a great video from our neck of the woods
I think about it often Alan, maybe we'll crack the code one day! Thank you, it was to good to get a couple of sessions in last week, I'll hopefully be out again shortly. Cheers 👍
Jest started to watch your video know Gareth Jest so relaxing to watch as always tight lines mate.
Thank you Phillip, I'm glad you're finding the video relaxing. Have a good weekend, cheers 👍
@ yeah hopefully and you never know we might cross paths on the banks some day 👍👍
Another great video
Thank you Noel, much appreciated. Enjoy the weekend 👍
that was real clever how you caught the sound of the wing beats of those 2 swans , then the trip ,lol ,now there is a blast from the past ,i grew up in cwmcarn i used to visit the banks of the EBBW it was known as the GRAVY RIVER by us kids because of its colour and it was devoid of life as well ,ie no living thing could survive in it including fish .
Hope all is good with you mate, you have a good weekend too... cheers 👍
Great video as always Gareth. Thank you for taking us along. All the very best .😊
Thank you Darren, appreciated as always. Have a good weekend bud, tight lines 👍
Another half hour of heaven mate, thanks so much. Hope you and the family are all doing ok 👍
Thank you Carl, I'm glad you enjoyed it. All good thanks bud, I hope you and yours are well. Take care now 👍
Tough going at this time of your Gareth but you persevered and got your reward.
Thanks for sharing your session with us.
It certainly is tough Richie, I can't even get a bite at the moment ha! Hopefully things will improve soon. Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍

Thank you Patricia, appreciated as always. The fishing is really hard at the moment but I enjoy being at these beautiful places, they're good for the soul! I didn't get on the train, maybe next time ha! You too, have a good one 👍
Bait in the water and breathing in that sea air happy days anything else is a bonus. Take care Gareth thanks for a nice vid.
Yes you're right there bud, that's what I enjoy the most. Hope all is good your end, enjoy the weekend 👍
Great vid Gareth. Like the stories about your dad and fishing adventures. Takecare mate.
Thank you William, I'm pleased to hear that. I do like a bit of reminiscing ha! Have a good weekend 👍
Cheers 👍
Hi gaz really appreciate your time and your effort to bring us these fantastic videos.....cheers pal👍🏴
You're welcome Daz. The fishing is slow at the moment but it's nice to be out there having a go. Cheers bud, take is easy 👍
Thanks Gareth, great way to start the weekend, glad you managed to catch, was down at Brean yesterday two hours and not a rattle.
You're welcome bud. I've not fished Brean for ages, I must give it another go soon, I fished there with Dad a few times. Cheers as always, take it easy 👍
@@riversidewithme forgot to say it's incredible how many fish you catch on the boat rod. 👍

Thank you Nick, always appreciated. Have a good weekend bud 👍

@riversidewithme That makes you a critical thinker, not a member of the herd.

Ps - thank you very much for the donation Martin, very kind of you. I shall put it towards some bait! I wish you all the best 👍

@@riversidewithme We didn't blank this evening. The boy managed a Roach on his little rod. We didn't live bait it though.
@@JaseTheOptimisticFishermanNice, always good to see a Roach, lovely looking fish ❤
Hi Gareth,
Multi venue vids …😃 what ever next. I think you seem happier than your last vid?
Keep up the good work…looking forward to next show already.
Tight lines Mate.
Hard at this time of year me old mate, but always nice to be out in the wilds. You capture the seasons and mood well, makes me wanna head out.
Yes you're right there bud, it certainly is hard work, all a bit lifeless at the moment. Just nice being out there though isn't it, spending a few hours next to the water! Enjoy the weekend 👍
I may have said this on your last video from the Ebbw, but I really fancy a session there.
Lighter tackle, chilled out and just see what's about.
It's a nice spot bud and it can fish well on its day. Seems to be hard work at the moment but hopefully that will change soon. Cheers 👍

Glad you have another car lined up John, that's great. Hope you have a nice time at Newport and Barry. Both used to be superb for Cod back in the day, thankfully I got to experience it! Cheers bud, take it easy now 👍
Beautifully shot scenery Gareth and the choice of music on the introduction was lovely 👍
Can you list the artists please?
Thanks for posting Gareth your films and content are always much appreciated ,
I’m still working on the lottery win
Win some money and do some good 🤞
Thank you Shaun, nice bit of weather for a change, much easier to film when it's still.

Have a good weekend bud, take it easy 👍
why do u add 1.7 gareth?
It's because when I was younger, the tide heights were shown differently to what they are now. It's a bit like imperial and metric, people have their preferences. So for old school heights, you add 1.7m for Newport, 3.2m for Barry etc. Like myself, a lot of my subscribers are old school, hence why I do it but it's not essential. Cheers Mick 👍
