This is really cool song for what it is, Band Maid featuring The Warning. It is clearly a Band Maid song and The Warning added their parts to a already written song as they have stated in interviews. But I think both bands did a great job considering all the factors they had to deal with, time, language ect . It sounds like there are some songs written by The Warning for this collaboration as well so that could also be interesting.

Another RUclipsr was moved when he heard this song, saying that it reminded him of the excitement of seeing the movie "The Avengers" for the first time. The reason this song is so popular is probably because of the fact that they performed together, rather than the quality of the song. Joel didn't seem to be impressed by the fact that they performed together.

To go with this I think the Electric Callboy collab had an easier task.
I think this takes some digesting. It has a great lyrical message that speaks to both bands. This wasn’t a feat. collab but two bands becoming a single unit. It’s well balanced and cohesive and they managed to shine a light on all 8 musicians in a relatively short song. I think it’s quite accomplished.

I don't know what ideas some people had. As a reminder, the song appears on the new Band Maid album and not on one of The Warning. What is expected from a song where all the musicians were together for 2 weeks to get to know each other and record a song and video together? Something epic that makes your brain burst and your heart boil over? And yes, the song is written in such a way that Band Maid could also perform it without Danny, Pau and Ale. Just like they can do ES without Alicia. All 8 are great musicians (ok, Miku is still learning, but she's getting better at the guitar) BM are, I think, technically more advanced, but are on average 10 years older. Nevertheless, nobody stands out and has played a partner against the wall. Just to remind you, this was recorded for a BM album. What both bands have in common is that neither of them has a female leader. What made me curious was how they handle the solos. Do they do it like Band Maid usually, everyone gets a turn, or like DPA solos only if they fit the song 100%. They have set docks to add solos live without having to rewrite the song.

The song is just OK for me, the logical direction would have been to do a big 14-20 second guitar solo split between Kanami and Danny, something in the Lovebites, Nemophila style... but to be honest, Danny can't keep up with Mincho, so the next best thing would have been a cool back and forth between Pau and Akane, which would have given a touch of greatness to a very flat song. 😉

It is a difficult project in itself for two bands to work together to create a song and play and sing it equally.
People who like both Bandmaid and Warning are moved and excited by the fact that they performed together, but those who don't seem to be critical of the song's completion. Of course, this song is not the best song for either Bandmaid or Warning. It is the result of both parties coming to terms within a limited time. Considering the hard work and achievements, I have no desire to criticize this song. I am satisfied just to see the two bands playing and singing at the same time.

I think it is a very catchy song with a nice message. What I don't agree with is pushing Saiki in a higher register where she sounds too pitchy. Plus whoever took Danys vocal recording, definitely played with her vocals, 'cause they made her voice at the same pitch as Saiki's, in which Day's voice is much richer even in her own high range. What I did love was the showcasing of each player, which was so cool, and even better when you watch the live performance. Also was fantastic was Kanami's leads, especially at the end of the song.

The blending of voices is spectacular. The entire collaboration seems so very natural. I believe they could have pushed much harder but maybe they wanted harmony to be the star? The friendship vibe is all over this song and mv. A jolt of adrenaline upon seeing them perform together was blocking me at 1rst from getting the vibe I think, then the voices got me as the camera showed Miku blending in and softening absolutely everything. Adrenalin suddenly gone, then the "lovely" feeling like when you eat chocolate. This song does "Gimme Chocolate", with sugar and cinnamon spice. 😋 ❤😊

  • @cholatse6745

This time Joel missed almost all points of this collaboration and is drifting dangerously close to shallow Rick Beato ignorance waters, IMHO. To bring two full bands of this caliber together with 8 people and create a song that works well and doesn't left a single person out or let egos over powering it is a gem already. And it's in the nature of a collaboration that you don't get the very best of the single bands involved, but I find it really impressive how the two bands manages it so well to create a cohesive, driving and fun song under this circumstances. There are not so many collabs of full bands that work so well. I enjoy this collab a lot, great job of the ladies.
It's a bit sad to find here probably one of the biggest fanboy moaning parties in the comments section I saw so far. All these keyboard warriors with very limited understanding of music united in one reaction is kind of depressing and not really a pleasant sight. I feel sorry for all this poor souls who can just look on such an exceptional example of talent shown together in such a collaboration based on skills, joy, friendship and respect by dissing a band. Therefore I prefer to change to a more joyful (musician) party. Nevertheless, have fun folks.

Have to disagree with you on this one. It has a great hook with the chorus, it's been stuck in my head since I first heard it. It showcases each member of both bands. The song sounds like a true collaboration not a battle or competition to see which band is better (it's not too much Band-Maid, It's not too much The Warning). The lyrics are amazingly positive. To me, this song is what true girl power looks like (it's a shame their fan bases are mostly men). It's in English because they want to appeal to the most people possible (this is a great opportunity for both bands to reach new audiences). All in 3 minutes (short enough to get on the radio or social media). I think it checked every box they were going for. A great track, a cool video, an amazing accomplishment and a win for both bands and their fan bases.

The two groups like and respect each other and wanted to do something for their mutual fan base. They only had a week, but they plan on doing more and have mentioned the next time will be in Mexico and possibly in Spanish. Dany said everyone had some input, but Kanami was the “Overseer”, she wrote the song and controlled the overall end result. No worries your entitled to your view of things, but so are thousands of others.

I understand what you mean: Yes, "The Warning" has songs that rock more! And Band Maid has more exciting compositions with technical finesse! And I'm not even a fan of singing in such high pitches as in the chorus.
Of course it's a compromise, but a really great one! It's not the best song Band Maid has ever made (e.g. Corallium and Protect You are more exciting). And it's not the best song The Warning has in its repertoire either (Six Feet Deep or Qué Más Quieres rock the house). But it's fun and makes you want more!
I get goosebumps every time I hear this and see both bands on stage together. I don't think any one band dominates here at all: The song contains elements from both! Currently this is the best song by "Band Maid and The Warning" (together) 😅 Lets hope for some more 🤘

That's fine The Warning makes great music without complex guitar solo's, it's not a problem.
Dany is a great singer and Rhythm guitarist.
What she is not is a great Lead Guitarist, she might develop into one if she wants but I doubt it because it's not necessary for the band.
Kanami's is a world class lead Guitarist and great composer, she does things with solo's that are genuinely breathtaking and leave experianced professional guitarist scrambling to work out how she did it.

I know the back story that they truly collaborated back and forth from Kanami's initial song structure, but it isn't as strong as any song written by each band on their own. As collabs go it's a very good one. Certainly the first B-M one I like. As songs of either band go, this isn't near the top. It's a catchy little showcase and I hope both bands enjoyed it.
As for the back and forths in the song I've noticed some elbows out in the comments on other videos but in terms of style, it all fit to my ear. Misa slaps a lot, Ale doesn't, Kanami noodles all over the place, Dany does not etc and the drummers, well, neither really got to shine much but that's hard to do in this setting I guess. Ditto Miku. Not a huge fan of the mixing on the vocals tbh but done well enough, especially when mixing them in the chorus.

I really appreciate The Warnings talent, but all this does is make me realize how much I love Band Maid's musical prowess. The technical skill and amazing songwriting abilities have no peers. The Warning is still young. They are the same age pretty much as Band Maid was when they started. I know that for instance Akane had to dumb down the drum parts, etc. But this is a fantastic collaboration considering how hard it is to write for two full bands.

And it feels like they wrote it so either band can play it on their own, both are live bands and don't get together often. It is about energy and radio play the hook will get stronger for you after a few listens. I also think it would've been much better if it was produced by TW team. I guess one can criticize "Show Them." I guess one could criticize a beautiful Kauai sunset for being too colorful, or not colorful enough. But when you have two bands the caliber of Band-Maid and The Warning who put out a fantastic collab like "Show Them," something that's really supposed to be for fun, an experiment, and for their fans, it just seems trite, even irrelevant, to go rag on it.
The girls only had a few days to write, record and perform the collab. Why can't we just say, "Great job gang! Do some more! We love you!" It's just like today's American politics -- everything's got to be criticized and poo-pooed! You know, reactions, Joel, don't all have to be, "was it good or was it bad?" Some things, like a Kauai sunset, can simply be enjoyed without evaluation. ;-)

I understand it's a Bandmaid song backed by The Warning.

@@Chuckles.. Kanami wrote the foundation then both bands worked together to write the finished product.
--Now, let's talk about "SHOW THEM," which was born from the collaboration between the two bands. How did the production process go?
Kobato : First, Kanami came up with the foundation for the song, and then we had the three members of The Warning listen to it.
KANAMI : Yes. I thought that The Warning and BAND-MAID have a common image of heavy rock, so at first I made a pretty dark song. However, I felt that everyone would be able to imagine it that way, so this time I deliberately tried to make a song that would bring out new sides of each of us. That's how "SHOW THEM" was born. The members of The Warning made some changes to the demo I made, saying things like "How about this?" Then we made new suggestions and repeated this process many times until it was completed.
Kobato : We've had a few remote meetings as well.
Daniella : When I heard the demo that KANAMI made for me, I was very surprised because it was a completely different direction from the songs we usually make. But I immediately started looking forward to how we could mix our own colors into it. Specifically, I suggested changing the chord progression a little.
Paulina : Then I wrote the B-melody and changed the melody a little to make it fit the English. That was difficult, but it was also fun.
Daniela : Yes. I think it was great that we were able to exchange detailed opinions on the lyrics and other things while keeping the atmosphere of the KANAMI demo. As a result, I think the finished product turned out really well.
Kobato : I think it's a song we could never have made on our own, po. The sensibilities of people overseas give us new discoveries. We had a lot of realizations like, "Oh, there's a way to do this!" po.
      Alejandra : Hahaha. That's a good mix!
KANAMI : I really think so. Dani (Daniela)'s scream at the beginning of the song was included at the suggestion of The Warning, and I thought it was a really interesting idea. I tend to use slightly strange chords (laughs), but I think it was good that they made it easier to understand. I learned a lot from how to make a melody that fits well with English.
Paulina : We had a lot of fun too. Thank you!

@@Chuckles.. TW did perform this live already with BM. Also this is so much more simplistic than anything else Band-Maid has created in the last 10 years, this was them producing something TW could perform. Lets be honest the Warning are not at Band-Maid levels of musical proficiency.

@@roygillotti4615 I agree TW are not at the same level of instrumental proficiency, but that doesn't explain the lame composition. The only thing I can come up with is TW didn't have much to do with this composition.
Again, Tw won't be performing this live *themselves* because literally all of their own compositions and the slew of songs they wrote with other artists on their new record are more dynamic and creative. Never mind their re-imagining of Enter Sandman with Alessia Cara which they had full control over as a collaboration. There simply are no other examples of TW coming up with such a boring composition.

Some people said this was a Band-Maid song. But to tell you the truth. It sounds like something you'd hear on The Warning's *"Keep Me Fed"* album than a Band-Maids.
It's a decent track. But it's not a track I'd go searching for. Heard it now about 5 or 6 times. Still the same meh to me. Like most of rhe Warning's KMF album.
