Ok everybody here it is !
A vital piece of history lost in the archives of time.
Apparently this is the only time in Keith Green's career that he got up on stage and REFUSED to sing.
Instead he preached a blistering rebuke called Praise Without Worship.
The recording wasn't released to the public like most services are, and the tape went underground.
We need to thank Robert Alderton for being on the soundboard on the day,
and Wisely keeping this important moment in history safe for us - thankyou so much !

i was going to name this file:
"Keith Green Rebukes Hillsong"
However i didn't want to give it such a controversial name haha.
So i named it as Keith did: "Praise Without Worship".
It is seriously possible that the Lord used this powerful challenge
to prepare Brian and co for the amazing worship music they would soon be making.
The first band with the name hillsong was formed in 1983 only 4 years after this.
We know that Brian Houston was in this service, because afterwards on the tape, Frank asks Brian to come on stage to mention the new church bookshop.
So who knows, maybe the Lord was using Keith to impart a worship anointing ?
Keith was only 26 YEARS old when preaching here!!
He died only 2½ years later.
This recording is the holy grail in Keith Green history,
being the only time that he got up on stage and Refused to play his songs.
In Keith's recently published diaries, he wrote this entry for the event:
1:40am Monday December 17, 1979, Australia
"Got up with grumbly attitude about church service this morning.
Service went well, I preached and refused to sing
(I hope it wasn't all in the flesh that I refused to sing, Lord show me)."
In the same diary entry he talks about the night service:
"Had a tremendous problem with my attitudes towards tonight's church service, It was an "X"-mas pageant and I found myself having to be in it!!!!! I still can't believe I did it. I might have been wrong to participate, but my grumbly attitude was definitely out of place. Concert went real well.
I see one of the enemy's greatest tricks was to attach personal physical discipline to devotional discipline. I would try to read 10 chapters and pray an hour a day, a very spiritual and noble desire to accomplish, but quite a hill to tackle all at once - when I'd fail, I'd drop everything I was trying to accomplish. "Faith-size bites" - that's the key!"
So for a 26 Year old kid, the biggest selling artist in christendom in 1979, to write that in his private diary, shows the incredible maturity and passion he had for the Lord and His holiness !
Everybody, put on your seatbelts before you listen to this. He gets pretty heavy !!
He discusses Ananias and Sapphira, and how that warning relates to us !!
As the tape is 42 years old, there is a little bit of tape bleed in the second half,
but it's still very listenable, and Essential for us to hear what he preaches!
