  • With NAMM coming in April, a lot of companies are starting to drop hints at brand new products that are coming out for 2023. It looks like LD systems might be updating their Maui 11 G2 and their Maui 28 G2. This is all speculation, so let's see what I've been able to find out.

Nice speculation. Did you see the latest posting from LD Systems with the insects?
In the past we also tested the MAUI 44 G2 and it is a really great PA.
We are also excited to see what happens on Thursday at LD Systems.

I did. The Maui 28 G2's max spl was 125db if I remember right, so it would appear the new version will top out at 127db. That's a good improvement. Almost double the output from the last model.

@@djtravismcguire The output even from the MAUI 11 is crazy. I would love to compare the MAUI 28 G2 with a MAUI 11 G3. I think they are now on the same level.

@@stage223 I actually just had a conversation with a DJ and mymarket about that particular thing. All of the attention is going to be on the 28 G3, but I don't think people should write off the 11 G3. That's a great output in a REALLY small package.

Thank you, Does our LD 44G2's sound better then the (forgot the model) new MAUI $1000Sub and top speaker you had in your last video? I love my 44G's so much I'm thinking about getting them in white as I love the look for weddings.

They are kinda hard to compare because traditional top-over-sub configurations are such different animals than column arrays. There are so many differences in dispersion, throw, & applications. My personal opinion, column arrays will always sound better simply because they tend to never be overwhelmingly loud and because of the wide dispersion pattern, you get great quality sound when directly in front of the speaker, as well as the far sides. If you need to throw sound a further distance, then column arrays are not a wise choice. The sound from column arrays are just as loud, but because of the wider dispersion, you will notice the sound from column arrays drops of significantly after about 50 feet away. I actually like this because it creates a Hotspot of sound on the dance floor, all while guests off the dance floor don't have to yell at each other to have a conversation. It all boils down to what application you need for each particular event. It's wise to own both types of setups.

@@djtravismcguire Thank you, I own 8 different system but the way some RUclips DJ's were talking these would blow the 44G'2 away but it sounds like they don't. I have 4 Mackie's 18's and many top speakers that will blow the 44G's away but I'm always looking for the pastiest and greatest but doesn't sound like I need these. Thanks again

I have the Evolve 50s and they're great, albeit a little harsh. A slightly more powerful Maui 28 would be VERY interesting indeed. I hope your speculation proves to be true.

They already have an Everse 8 competitor, Maui 5 GO. Plus they haven't hinted anything at a new battery powered speaker.
