After the in-hand look the shin figure is looking much better than the promo images while Baylon obviously comes out worse. If anything they should’ve scaled Shin down.
So disappointed they didn't get these right. I was hyped from the show, underwhelmed by the reveals, and ultimately just gonna pass. At least I got some laughs from the extra long lightsaber and tiny Baylan memes.
There are SO many issues with these early Ahsoka figures, and it makes me hope Hasbro never try and get stuff out this early again. It's all either based on concept art, or using character's appearances from other media, which can be drastically different to how we saw them in Ahsoka. I have never felt the need to dark wash or repaint before, but Marrok and HK 87 absolutely need a dark wash to even come closer to resembling their appearance in the show, and Huyang needs a full repainting.
Hasbro consider the Back Series to be the definitive versions of these characters. Maybe for Huyang we get lucky and he gets a season 2 or Filloni movie wave release, but Marrok is the only Marrok we're getting and he's just so bad.
I'd rather wait 18 months for accurate figures.
Even when you look at the side art on the box the height difference is apparent. It's also disappointing the sabers aren't orange. Either Lucasfilm gives too little info or Hasbro's quality control has been lowered.
It's hard to know what happened here but it's 100% bad. A shame that this is what we'll get for some of the best characters in the show.

I'm thinking about canceling my pre-orders now. I really love these characters, but I don't want them out of scale with the rest of the line. It's just not worth it at the price that they're asking now. Maybe I'll pick them up on discount, but not at full price.
I understand that. These two are my most disappointing black series figures in 2023.

I’m swapping out his legs for a set of Vaders legs. Hopefully that fixes the issue
I took a good long look on Baylan, because I love the actor and his character. But something was off. Now I know what it is: he is not only too small. I would even go as far that on the pictures, his head appears to be too big. So I do not think I will get him. Maybe if I see him at a favourable price somewhere.
Trust Hasbro to mess up yet AGAIN,especially with a figure that we are all waiting and looking forward to. Way to go Hasbro!!
Damn, they did Baylan dirty. I've got both on pre-order, and have not cancelled.... yet. But the Black Series has had a lot of missteps of late, and it's getting a bit irksome.
Well that’s a cancelled pre order for me. What a joke. Morak is clearly a shorter stuntman that was about Ahsoka’s height and even he is taller than Baylan? Ridiculous.
Sounds like another case where Hasbro decides to cut costs and improve margins by reducing the amount of plastics used in the Baylon sculpt thinking no one will notice or care. This company is constantly showing signs of complete incompetence and just can’t seem to do anything right on a consistent basis. Just think how much better things would be for us collectors if Hasbro was actually run by experienced people….🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

Wow. Good point. This is unacceptable coming from Hasbro, especially when the figures are coming out months after the series concluded.
@@matthewk4912 right?! Least they could do is delay it and make it right. But maybe that’s a bigger ordeal than I’d imagine 😭
The reason is to save plastic on a figure they didn't expect to be a big seller.
It really is a shame because they both should have been "winners" since the series ended and they could have taken notes. It is unlikely these characters will be revisted before the next season so it is disappointing for TBS collectors. However, this places a high level of expectation for TVC and, if they're good, I'll certainly pick them up. Sure they do make mistakes with scaling (Bo-Katan), but if they learned anything from the latest Vader, they'll make a proper Baylan for the line. My other issue is Shin being a little too "dolled". Not that she shouldn't be a looker, but it's a little exagerrated. Meanwhile, the printing on Sabine's eyes can vary from unit to unit so she may look "tired" or just fine.
To me, Hasbro clearly rushed these waves and collectors shouldn't be blamed for skipping on them if they feel that these figures aren't definitive.
I'm not getting them now. I was not sure before, but this is ... I don't know... a collector focused series not focusing on the details.... This smells like Blueprint 2.0.
Even Marrok is taller than him ... and it's not like he is filled with details etc. A fairly simple figure. I guess he would have been a deluxe too then, if they actually made him right.

Ouch, this is bad. A character and actor with tremendous screen presence is going to have no gravitas on anyone’s shelf thanks to Hasbeen
really disappointed, i wanted baylan cause of ray stevenson amazing performance. even his torso is short and small.
That is very dissapointing. I was looking forward to get him :(
I have the glimmer of hope that his legs are a bit too separated in the pictures and he may be a bit hunched over. If we're lucky, closing his legs and aligning his torso should put the top of Shin's head at about his eyeline
and after months now, we only get a baylan small and shin highty again but with capes.. no things fixed so hasbro really dont care abouut this figures

That's awful. Baylan should be big and burly. Shin should be smaller and lithe.
I would've loved a Ray Stevenson action figure. I suppose if found cheap they could be custom fodder.

4:13 ok that picture is just brutal... like figures from different scaled lines... like 5 inch and 7 inch next to each other or something... yikes.
Seriously Hasbro can't get a win on Black Series. Either the figs show up years after the shows aren't relevant anymore, or they do a rushed job with painfully obvious errors.
With Kenobi they got had figures all ready to go in time, or at least the announcement pictures and then the show is bad enough that nobody wants the toys (Reva Lightsaber Haslab... REALLY???).
They most likely have multiple designers for the different characters and when they don't talk to each other, don't compare notes then stuff like this happens.
Wow they messed up.
