Great instructional video. Given the weakness of the dash plastic where you removed the factory spring nuts I would recommend adding a rectangular backing plate to each mounting machine screw in order to spread the pressure out along the entire vertical surface of where the hub contacts the dash on each end. This would better support the media hub and minimize the chance of breakage.
Imagine bumping the hub with your knees and the fragile old plastic breaks and down comes the whole hub with wires and all. Surprised the hub doesn't come with a bracket to properly secure it, not even washers.

I wish someone would come up with a cupholder that you could pull out of that ashtray. I hate that stock one that is in my 94 F150. When I have somebody sitting in the middle They have to put their legs over my cups.
I think we see why your finger had to be bandaged. That's a bad place behind the ash tray to do anything. And we see that you had lots of help there -- baby helper. :D Too cute.

Which color did you order? It looks like you have the Opal Grey interior, but the media hub looks like a dark grey. Just seeing if it matches the dash color or would be better to order something that won't match.

Ah! That’s the worst! Granted at this age, the plastic in these trucks can be very brittle.

It gives you a flat surface for mounting switches, CB radio, gauges, USB ports, etc.
