- Hey guys welcome to todays video where I literally go over every single snow/ice based level that you can find in the Mario series. It's beginning to look a lot like an ice world, everywhere you go...
I've always enjoyed ice/snow levels in Mario games, even though they can be difficult.
SMW has also Donut Secret 2 which is an ice cave level similar to the area from VoB 4 you included
Definitely a lot more from SMW including Donut secret 2 and Vanilla Fortress, also sad there's no mention of SMW2 Yoshi's Island which has both snow themed levels but even has downhill ski levels
It's more like a Yoshi game than anything.
Vanilla Fortress is underwater, not icy.
Technically, Winged Mario Over The Rainbow in SM64 is also treated by the game as a snow level. You can see this for yourself because Mario shivers instead of falls asleep if you don't touch the controller while inside the level.
Elevation cold is not snow cold bud.
If you look at the level data, the terrain type of WMotR is "snow". That's how the game decides whether to do the shiver animation.
Bit of a reach there.
Donut Secret 2 is also a Ice Level in Super Mario World
Shiver City is a snow themed level in Paper Mario (2001).
1 level you should have included was Mario 64 ds where you save Wario that level is really fun.
Cool Cool Mountain and Snowman's Land are two snow themed levels in Super Mario 64 (1996).

I remember world 6-5 from 3d land having a counterpart in the specialnworlds, where you don't use bounce platforms, but helicopter blocks
snow themed levels are something that appear in nearly every mario title and never fail to impress me everytime.
4:57 falling snow is definitely possible and relatively easy to make in 8 bit games lmao. I made 3 separate smb1 romhacks with falling snow/rain. I think the background was just a stylistic choice

Icy Side of Hailfire Peak is a snow themed level in Banjo-Tooie (2000).
You should totally do beach themed levels!!!! or maybe even underwater levels, etc?? :3

Good video, but what about Donut Secret 2 from super mario world? Its a totally Ice based level.
Maybe i missed it but i think you forgot 5-castle from New super mario bros DS. Its has ice eveywere.
But who knows maybe i just missed it in the video because im dumb.

fun fact: in the Lost levels you can get ice physics in every level just by playing as Luigi
The ice/snow background from SMB3 feels more like a ba design choice as I get sick looking at those diagonal slashes.
They should’ve just made it a simpler texture like the cave
Freezeezy Peak is a snow themed level that is also Christmas themed in Banjo-Kazooie (1998).
Great game, and a great level. When I remember that game, I think of that and Gobi’s Valley (the sand-themed level) being back to back.
@@chambeet Right you are, my friend, and so does Mad Monster Mansion that is a Halloween themed world, Click Clock Wood that is a season themed world, Clanker's Cavern that is a sewer themed world, Bubblegloop Swamp that is a swamp themed world, Treasure Trove Cove that is a beach themed world, Rusty Bucket Bay that is a cruise ship themed world and Mumbo's Mountain that is a mountain themed world.

Huh. So it looks like there are snow themed levels in Super Mario Sunshine? Interesting.
My favourite snow level is the third level in map 5 of Yoshi's Island. The skiing bit was always a favourite moment of the level. I think for Super Mario World I love the Donut secret level that is off to the side in the Valley of Bowser.
So, what about Desert Kingdom in Odyssey? It is frozen in the beginning and it even has an ice cavern with an interesting mechanic (Mario slips, but Goombas don't).

in super mario world, there is a level that is 100% the snow area in 7-4:donut secret 2(world2-s2) and you missed it
I honestly did not know those levels were supposed to be snow levels in Mario 1. I even played it when it was new SMH

Super Mario Bros 1 snow levels is just winterised levels. While 6-3 is snow level.
Actually I enjoy Snow🌨levels in Super Mario games but sometimes they can be slippery when walking
