In a nutshell, I ‘m an avid dumpster diver, scrapper, picker, treasure hunter and underwater connoisseur. I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. Be sure to stay subscribed to stay up to date with my latest expeditions, y'all!
Hi buddy it's hot 🔥 in England but the scrap keeps coming and it's good 😊
Maybe the coins came from a water fountain? Awesome haul
Look up how to clean coins that have been in a water fountain. I would love a follow up on the coins also. Interesting.
A wishing well maybe ?
Very nice pickup mike lots of great stuff five stars brother
I'd be interested in a follow up about the coins. Very interesting.
Likewise, let us know what was in there!
Half dollars older than 1970 have silver!
Like wish hell yeah.
@@ampete04 1964 and older are silver rest is junk unless a clad. If your gonna mention something be factual.
Yes I concur sir.... What's the money worth?
If you have a rock tumbler you can use that to clean those coins, put a little dish soap in it a few pebbles, You only need to tumble those coins for a half hour.
Do a follow up on money please and once again another fun day curbside
When I would clean the fountain all coins I would remove and have a mixer and a solutions I would use.
There is a video of a person who does this very thing and makes a fee doing this exactly.
He uses a small portable cement mixer and once done rolls them a d takes to the bank like brand new coins.
Clean those coins with white vinegar, Mike. Maybe dilute it a bit.
Vinegar will clean the white oxide off those coins
The red item is a manual tire changer.
Coins my bee from a WISHING POND at a MALL ????
Time to get a bigger truck with a lift gate! I got my cdl so I'll drive you around and you grab it up. Deal?
What would you average for a full truck like this st the scrap yard??
WELL DANG MIKE i clicked on your video at the time it was up for 15 minutes with 330 views. i refreshed and it jumped to over 2000 views. sweet bro!!
He is super entertaining. We love MTS!
Orange yard pole is a power extension for an electric chainsaw; think extension cord in a fiberglass pole. Great video, thanks for sharing this. Wishing you and your lady a blessed week, gentle weather and restful evenings. Peace Mike.
Just tossed mine out as well since you can’t get a black n decker saw for them anymore
Coca-Cola or vinager is good for cleaning coins mike. Small tub filled with either liquid then drop in and let them soak.
Mike your so considerate of the other peoples property. I appreciate your energy too. ✌️
Thanks!
Hey Mikey do a follow up on
those coins we wanna know
what you found. 👍🏼🤣
It is amazing how you make a full truck look empty at your next stop. Great organizing ability.
Those shop vacations dissappeared!!
Hey Mikey that long pole
with a plug on the is
an adapter to use for
long reach tree trimming.
First time commenting on your channel . Your videos are great . I’m From Ohio and watch them all the time .
Just found your site and I'm hooked brilliant mate
That's a ice fishing pole Mr. Mike. Some are hand made custom and have a great resale value in us north eastern states. Love ur channels and keep doing what ya do sir. Btw talk how ya want we gonna watch anyway!
About 10 years ago I noticed a weed eater with a blower attachment on it was sitting on top of a storm drain by the curb all by itself. I drove by it 3 times that day and it was still sitting there several hours later. Later that night I drove by it and saw that it was still there so I decided to pick it up. When I got home, I pulled on the starter rope and it started right up. I'm thinking to myself.. oops! I don't know if it was trash, or someone was blowing off the curb and just forgot about it, but It was too late to bring it back. I had a garage sale a few weeks later and put it for sale. It was sitting out all day and nobody came by and asked about it, so It was mine. So Often I see lawn mowers or weed eaters sitting by the curb and you never know if they're trash or just put down temporarily while the owners went inside. But if it's sitting there all day, it's fair game in my book. Just two days ago A neighbor was moving out of his house and left a huge pile at the end of the driveway. The city didn't pick it up because it wasn't in the container. There were Metal chairs, tables, lamps, a lawnmower, a bolt-on Trailer Hitch, file cabinets, etc.. I picked up the metal bits and left. Later that day more was added to the pile including a Nice 6 foot fiberglass folding ladder and a newish looking wheelbarrow. I got that as well. I could understand the ladder because it was thrown on top of the pile, but the wheelbarrow was just sitting next to the pile.
Nobody was home, so I assumed it was thrown out as well and picked it up. If it's out at the curb and nobody is home to say it's not trash, it probably is.
That pole was for the Remington electric chain saw. I had one. Works awesome . Now got the Dewalt 20v
Nice bunch of scrap collected. Awesome to find a bucket of coins. Make a novice coin collector drool!!Coin cleanup: I’d start with a little dish soap in just water and agitate them/stir em around. If they need more, if you have a rock tumbler, with a little fine grit and some dish soap (in water), they should clean right up (as noted previously, do pennies/copper coins separately). Last options, soak in a dilute vinegar mixture or very last… harsher stuff like CLR.
Honestly, if there are any valuable coins in the bunch you shouldn’t do much more than lightly brush em down dry with a (non-wire) brush.
Cheers!
You did great. Loved when you got the grill. Love your videos. A new baby? Congratulations!!!! 🙂👍🎈✌🎸💕 PS I found a silver 1945 quarter it is worth $60.00. So check those coins. Awesome find.
New dog Mercy is the new baby.
@@ddawe31635 Awesome a new puppy. 🙂💕🙂
Aww. That fireplace screen reminded me of Selma. How's Patricia doing? and the new baby? For sure give us an update on the bucket o' money!
It's a buster for Tires bust Tires down
@@coreyvandyke528 Uhhh...okaaayy. Thanks?
Well I said it before you said it or I wouldn't have said it LOL
Aww thanks! The girls are doing great! Getting along, for the most part. Got the coins soaking now. I’m wondering if they were in a pond or tank of some sort. It was a rich neighborhood and I saw a few Asian coins so I’m wondering if someone had a Koi pond???
"That's a blower for your stick" could've been another great title for this video 🤣
Those pressure washer usually just need a new power relay. Cut one off old ac wire it up
That bucket of coins is someone’s unfulfilled wishes🙁
Or tip money for Mike!😃
He’s a hard worker and he has humorous things to say and laughs at himself and is courteous to others
You could use your rock tumbler to clean the money. I'm addicted to watching these videos and such.
my yard told me there is a classification for the lower-grade stainless, like on the grills. some yards may pay for it if they deal in enough of it, mine doesn't get enough so into the shred pile they go. funny bout the change, a long time customer of mine is moving and this am gave me a huge container of change. we'll both be counting change today:)
You're more organized with your tools! Is that mag strip for tools new?
Hey Mike maybe those coins came out if some kinda fountain where you throw money in 🤷🏽♀️nice hunting
I love this channel. I have COPD and rarely go outside because I am on oxygen. I love to watch and see what Mike will find. It brings the outside world in! Thanks for uploading content!! The comedic narrating sends it over the top! Baking soda and vinegar will clean those up quickly.
Pole saw with an attachment for different cutting heads. Clipper, mini chain saw, rotary blade. Can be converted after the Zombie Apocalypse into a long reach Zombie killer. Let's you reach them from the roof of your fortified house or while you're safely behind your spiked anti-zombie wall. 20:55 looks like money from a fountain or pond.
A day without Mike the Scavenger is like a day without sunshine.
Weirdo
When I was in the hardware store I passed thru the grill dept. Thot I would get a closer look at those grills all you scrappers pick up and throw in your trucks all day long, making it look easy.💪 I stood in front of a typical grill, it was huge! I am 5' even but still, I could barely lift the lid. BTW, that one (Napoleon brand) was $1800. The cheaper one was only $1600!🤑 May you find many more curbside grills!😊
Let us know what kind and how much money was in the bucket . Thanks for the video it was a good one once again
What you thought was a lift is actually a manual tire changer. You can break the bead and then remove the tire from the rim.
I hoped someone gave Mike that info. 👍
You think he's kidding but I was literally just now at the store and found the new "Yard Machine 'El Cheaparino'" myself.
new $250
Please give us a follow up on the money !! But I have to ask, why would anyone throw money away ?? Love you 😘 Peace♥️♥️🇨🇦
I bet an ultrasonic cleaner would do great on your found coins! Metal detector hobbyists love them for dug coins.
Thanks for keeping my alive, AND I GOT MY "WHAT YO HEAD" T=SHIRT LOVE IT
Hi another amazing video have a great scrap day stay cool 😎
The tire changer is missing the rim bar but the rest of it is there. I have one that I have bolted to my garage floor. I buy tires with rims at garage sales, tires to junk yard, rims to the recycler. Run the coins in a tumbler with some sand, water and a little vinegar to shine them up.
Try vinegar and baking soda on those coins. Another Great run Mike! Aloha from Oahu!
Am mai petrecut o seară frumoasă cu tine Mike ,Mulțumesc.
Fellow Texas scrapper, I've had to quit scrapping for now. High gas and low scrap prices have sidelined me for now. Any advice, new things I could try?
Hey Mike, looks like those coins may of came out of a fountain or were under water for some time. Us White Vinegar which is a weak acid, and they should clean up. Stay safe. Joe
You are so fun to watch. I feel happy when your done. Thank you Mike.🌼
Another great video Mike. Try using CLR on the coins, beware it may make a collectable coin worthless. Please do a follow up video and show what country all the coins are from!
Just place coins in a rock tumbler
Soak corroded coins in vinegar for a while, usually cleans them up. Less than an hour or you start to dissolve the metal itself. I am curious to see those coins cleaned up.
Yo yo yo nice finds Mike 👍 money 🤑 in a bucket y'all ❤️👍😎
To clean up the coins: Warm or hot vinegar and a tablespoon of salt. Soak and agitate them. They will clean right up. Take out any pennys and do separately, otherwise all the coins will take on a coppery film.
Exactly what I would do :-)
Just roll the pennies and label them as environmentally damaged, banks have to accept them.
Don t clean coins, it decrease its worth and protections.
@@ValacircaTN good advice for valuable coins, incase you can't tell these aren't. These are modern clad, half rusted. So easy there and hold your keyboard warrior RUclips opinion. horses
I think that orange pole is so you can extend your reach when cutting higher branches off the tree's I think you can clip your tool on oneside and connect your wire to the other.👍👍
I love your Scruffling (scrap shuffling) - and ensuring the space for more great finds :)
Thanks Mike for another outstanding trip into , "THE SCRAPDOME"....!! Peace everybody! Stay safe out in the heat, ya'all! WTH was that l just said?!!? "Ya'all?!?" Man, I grew up in freaking Central Nebraska and NOBODY said that!! Haaa HAAHaaa!!
Good morning Mike good luck this morning ❤️
Mike those coins could be worth something. Right now older coins have more value than face value. Ask someone to help you sort through those. Great finds!
Mike will you make a video on how to scrap? Do you just take everything to a scrap yard or does some items need to be taken apart etc.... Keep up the great content. I'm always amazed how well you do.
MIKE- Your AIR BLOWER Is for a kids bouncy house. I had to buy a replacement on EBay and it was about $60. Keep up the great content!
Hi Mike...love your channel....I do a lot of park metal detecting. I find the best way to clean coins is to put them in a rock tumbler with metal bb's and soapy water. Turn the rock tumbler on for a few hours and the coins look brand new.
Mike needs to get a lawnmower guy to sell all the mowers to.
that one just needs a new $20 plastic carb
Hey Mike 👋🏻 I was wondering when you bring equipment with engines to the scrapyard do you empty the fluids ?
Mike another excellent video, keep up the awesome work. I too would love a follow up on the coins. Enjoyed the video, look forward to the next episode, you have a nice evening check you out later.😎👊PEACE.
Money money money..MONEY!!!!! Thanks for the ride,Mike!Stay cool!!
Love these videos. Between his accent and the way he NEATLY stacks scraps in his truck...wow. Nothing escapes his notice. He's a master at this.
@Wayne Coke Great answer! 😂
Another assortment of excellent SCRAP NICE Cheers Mike have a nice day Y'all !!
I have to say, you are one heck of a scrap packer!! Fun!! 💖💖💖💖
Mike thanks for asking, I'll never forget the day I'm weeding and my husband leave the lawn mower running steps inside for a moment only to come out and a man is trying to load it onto his truck. Oh he said I didn't realize you were using it. My husband looks at him and say it's still running and the guy gets into his truck and drives off.
something similar happened where i live in the uk a woman was getting a new kitchen fitted so all the appliances were on her drive ,she comes back out a a scrap man took off with the lot ,got them back in the end but had to get the police to find the scrap man
Happened to me too although the person had to come quite a way into a yard. For some reason I looked out the window then ran to the door and yelled something like you have our mower! He said something stupid like my husband said he could have it. A No! Anyway, now here in Olympia anything is fair game so much theft just horrible.
Nice haul!!!Enjoyed as usual.🧐
I would love a guy that brought home extra shelving lol
Alright Alright Alright! Good morning from Connecticut. Love ya videos
Looking forward to seeing what that money is once cleaned up...💰
Everybody needs a little Mike The Scavenger in their life!!! Thanks for another good one!!!
12:42 I love the way you treat your two biggest fans. Lol
Here mike those air blowers are good for cooling you down in the hot weather I use to use one but you need to hang it up high and preferably in a shaded place that stops it from blowing out loads of dirt and it keeps it cool.👍👍
MTS killing it !!! Happy scrapping!!
probably someone had a "wishing well" or something and the pool / water chemicals made the coins all crusty
If you have a rock tumbler you could get the coins clean easily. Keep doing that scrap shuffle!
Never a dull moment with the Scavenger
Mike, it is NOT always you that parks in the way the minute someone comes home. I know that because it's usually ME.
Mike, whenever I see metal on the road,I think of you. When I see. Lot of thrash and boxes on the road,I always say” what’s going on down here”
Making the Cat Happy when you empty the fish tank with three Vac's lol!!!; )
Mike, good pickup as always. As I said before, you need magnetic signs for both sides of your truck. Mike's metal recycling and phone to call you. Also a low rise trailer for your larger items. Washer dryer, stove, freezer fridge etc.
He's trying to not attract attention to himself, that's why he doesn't drive around with the side rails until he needs them and uses his bike alot. In and out quickly.
Hope you have a follow up video of the found money, love your enthusiasm for what you do, have a great day Mike
Great haul Mike! You rock. Throw some vinegar in your concoction for cleaning those coins?
Darren from England again brilliant episode Mike keep on going can't wait if you do a follow-up see what then cause were keep on scavenging
Love Mike’s rig: so well set up with the tools on the magnet at the back there!
Awesome finds! Always enjoy your videos! Let us know what was in coin bucket please$$$
Ooooo a short follow up on the change/coinage would be 😊 Too much fun watching this while we prep for our YT Live Stream sale tomorrow. Be well and stay healthy!!!!🙈🙈🙉
Looks like a great way to start the day Mike. Be you buddy!
Hi Mike! 👋😎 That Red thing is not a hoist. It's a manual tire changer . I have one just like it . Those red metal pieces are parts that go with it, to bolt it down. Pretty handy tool . I use mine alot . Wes. In Oregon
Those coins look like the uncleaned ancient roman coin lots I used to buy off eBay. Really cool find if they are!
I Love your channel idol mike please shootout My name too your next video I am from the Philippines I Love your video awesome
Put those coins in a bucket with a bunch of Steel ball bearings a shot of dawn and some water and give them a stir. Should shine them right up after about 10 minutes.
You have been doing good in the neighbor hoods.
