- Mapleshade gets rejected by her Clan and mate and loses her kits. With nothing left but grief, she struggles and fails to stay sane and not take it out on others.

Maple was already my favorite villain in Warriors, being one, if not the ONLY villain with a motive that actually makes sense, being led by love only to be stabbed in the back for following her heart, then fighting to get, what she feels as revenge for her dead kits. This MAP did a fantastic job of showing that, especially the last scene of her kittens running away from her in fear, telling her that she may have gone too far, but at that point it was too late to go back.
Good job for getting me to feel more sympathy for a cat that I had already loved.
I dont read the series, but mapleshade doesn't seem evil to me, she just want revenge :b I still love mapleshade any way

He also helped Hawkfrost trap Firestar in the fox trap, and Firestar DID die. It wasn't his last life, but Ashfur did help commit murder.

Ashfur didn't really directly kill anyone. He did help trap Firestar, but he didn't actually ever fight and kill anyone.
Mapleshade definitely had a much better reason for trying to kill people, but she succeeded whereas Ashfur didn't. If Ashfur's plans had worked, he would have gone to the Dark Forest. He should have anyway, but that's not how StarClan works.

Oh my god the last part was so cool, portraying the kits rejecting their own monster of a mother like that! That last part really shook me up! It was such a surprise, and the quality of animation just makes it flow so well!
I was so sad they just left her. She killed those cats to avenge them. She killed her friend and mate. Why would they abandon her?!?? So what if she was a serial killer!!! She did it for them.

And yes, her victims weren't saints, but they were not guilty either. They didn't deserve to die.
Ravenwing was a medicine cat and he had received an omen, so he had to tell. He's not to blame, Oakstar is. Frecklewish found out that her friend had had kits with the cat that killed her brother, so of course she was heartbroken. When she saw them drowning she didn't try to save them, but honestly, she simply couldn't have. She was a thunderclan cat that couldn't swim. If not even the RiverClan cats couldn't save them, there's no way she would have been able to. She would have just drowned most likely. Appledusk, I have already explained that his only fault, to me, was cheating on Mapleshade. The only ones that I truly blame here are the leaders, Oakstar and Darkstar.
The scene at the end where her kits were scared because of her got me... I mean, I didn’t cry or nothing but I made me feel really bad for her. If you look past what monster MapleShade had become, it’s what AppleDusk done to her. Honestly, I blame AppleDusk.
Forgotten Dreams Don’t only blame Appledusk. Both Maple and Apple were in this together. Oakstar should be blamed by the sake of the kits faith as well as Darkstar. Their kits are dead and Apple and Maple paid the price.

Actually, it’s not appledusk’s fault bc the only reason why mapleshade went on a killing spree is because she saw illusions of her kits wailing so she thought if she killed crow feather, frecklewish, and appledusk

When mapleshade was dying alone. She was waiting for her kits to thank her but instead she ends up in the dark forest as you all know
Mapleshade wasn’t evil. She was killing to free her kits - well she THOUGHT if she killed those cats her cats would be freee for some reason but I can’t blame her for doing that

The last part made me sad. Her kits were scared... Of her... She was finally dying, she was finally gonna see them again... But she went to the dark forest... She'll never see them again.
Actually she didn't deserve to be in the dark forest, she had hallucinations of her kits telling her to kill others...When she was going to die, her kits told her that she was gone to far, but she couldn't do anything...it was very late.

git gud Insane people who kill others don’t go to prison, they go to a secure mental hospital where they can be treated for their mental illness in a safe place because they are found to not be culpable for their actions. Why is Mapleshade responsible for her actions if in real life, a mentally ill or as you put it “insane” person can make an insanity plea?

this map came out absolutely gorgeous and the fight scene had AMAZING continuity; everyone did so well on this map!!! but something i don’t understand??
there are a lot of people saying that sagutoyas’s part had way too much blood,, but like mapleshade DIED of BLOOD LOSS. of course theres gonna be a whole lot of it spilling everywhere, that just makes sense. for what happened to her, that’s actually a perfectly realistic amount of blood imo
EGGPRIEST I think the issue is more of how the blood loss was presented rather than how much. I mean, blood usually comes out at a consistent rate, not like all of a sudden THE FLOODGATES HAVE OPENED AND EVERYTHING GOES WHOOSH. However, I don't want that part to change, as I love how the blood loss is presented.

I much prefer the ending to this than the canon ending to Mapleshade's life. It just seems more climactic for her to die from the wounds given by Appledusk than anything else.

Her FACE when she was about to kill appledusk was so malicious,the blood spill at the end was frighteningly good,and the kits being scared of Mapleshade was heartbreaking,especially her reaching out to them

I hate Appledusk, love Mapleshade, but I always felt bad for Reedshine. I mean, she didn't ask to be a part of any of this. She hadn't seen Appledusk's true colors. She didn't even KNOW about Mapleshade!

I feel the same about mapleshade and appledusk but I also don't like Reedshine, I don't exactly know why but she didn't care about mapleshade and really was a bit of a jerk in my eyes

I watched this MAP the day it came out, still as beautiful as ever.
This MAP really shows, how Mapleshade loved her family and Clan. This MAP shows the real reason why Mapleshade became crazy. That's why I love it.
AHH GOSH THIS MAP MAKES ME FEEL LIKE YELLING,,, i really dig how this was scripted and how the pallets change!! Ahh gosh, all of these parts turned out to be so nicely done and the MAP itself is super enjoyable!! Awesome job

I can't believe how emotional the very last part of the map is by Sagutoyas, the emotion from the kits after they saw their mother is beautifully drawn and animated. Defiantly one of my favourite map parts ever

HOLY SHIT THIS SO GORGEOUS OH MYYYYYY
This is so emotional! And the song is chosen very accurately. Red-white scenes are particularly notable for their tension. Contrast is created between the parts of the story, and this is great! I particularly liked the parts that showed how Mapleshade was trying to save her kittens. The sudden transition to the battle with Appledusk was also amazing. Because the viewer empathizes with Mapleshade and perfectly understands her motives. Not because she wants blood, not because she is a villain, because she lost the most expensive for her. The death of kittens was an emotional trauma for Mapleshade, just like the Appledusk's betrayal. She had motives for revenge. And yeah, the ending is so marvelous. The whole MAP is marvelous. You made it marvelous! Thank you guys for this project. You are amazing :')

I don't know why, but even though I absolutely hate Appledusk, I feel like he's a rather realistic tom.
Yes, he pretty much gave Mapleshade some condition that made her mentally insane, because she was originally a sweet mother. I kind of like her being a murderer who goes on a rampage, except for the fact that she started messing up Crookedkit's life.

Finally,a map that actually shows both sides of Mapleshade! I always see these maps where they pity her and say that Appledusk is the devil of cats, But honesty, if the cat that you didn’t love anymore was to be punished for obvious reasons, then would you really defend her and get yourself in trouble as well..? Another thing is when I see Mapleshade fans pitying her when she LITERALLY KILLED other cats! And your telling me that she doesn’t deserve to go to the dark forest? I guess you could blame Appledusk, but he was just trying to survive and like I said he didn’t really love Mapleshade anymore at that point. I love how this map shows how she’s both insane and wants revenge, but also shows a loving part and that she just wanted her kits to live happily. Great job!

Flurryfeather well, she likely was internally bleeding from previous brawls- and when appledusk cut her throat he not only severed her jugular but potentially damaged her esophagus and airpipe in the process. In he last seconds of life, her heart desperately rushes blood to her body to keep her alive.. and when that happens, all of the blood it rapidly sent to her head gushes out not only through her severed jugular, but her entire esophagus.

The fight scene was so AMAZING!
Especially the malicious sadistic look Mapleshade gets when she knows she can kill Assledusk- the music at the fight scene added on to maples fury and bloodlust I love it and sagutoyas part wow! The blood looks so realistic amazing and the ending where her kits run away from her in fright is so unique I dont see that in a lot of maps this is a first to me

This is fricking terrifying but amazing, I love it! It really shows the story behind Mapleshade and makes it incredibly creepy! A perfect Halloween map, nice that you got it done in time!
Mapleshade is far from being my favourite character, but damn, this MAP is wonderful. Very intense and dramatic. Really captures Mapleshade's insanity. Great job!

i got confused with all the mapleshade maps but i finally found the one with the terrified looks on the kits' faces at the end holy heck this is a good one-
I love this entire map! All of the parts fit so well with the music, and everyone's art is amazing! The part at the end seals it so well, too. I love the way it shows flashbacks and then killings through the whole map, and how in the end even her kits are afraid of her. Mapleshade is my favorite warrior cats villain, so this map really made me happy! It fits her so well!

I have no idea what is going on, what the relationships are, what cat is who, or why everything is happening. Never seen warrior cats. But the MAP is great
Mapleshade had a cross clan relationship, two different clan cats mating, which is forbidden. Her and her kittens were sent to leave and her kittens drowned. Thirsty for revenge, mapleshade kills the tan tom cat DuskApple for what he has done to her (the one to kick her out of the clan after impregnating her and leaving her for a different cat). During the battle shes badly injured and collapses due to blood loss. In her dying breath she sees the figure of her kits. They run away in fear of what their mother had become

Idk why people hate appledusk so much he save his mate and his kids, he wont go to the dark forest and he will be know like a hero (mapleshade is my favorite cat)

That last part made me sad for Mapleshade. Her kits are scared of there mother because of what she has become.

I can imagine that even though mapleshade is in the dark forest her kits still love her since they only got love and affection from her so I think that they would meet at the boarder and they would talk and hug and be a cute family, sorry if that’s not the best thought
Dark forest cats are cursed to be alone forever. That's what was said in one of the books, I believe, so sadly it wouldn't work..
@mrdoe97 Yeah I felt like it's so weird? Even in first 2 Omen books like Jayfeather with full confidence say that Dark Forest cats are cursed to be alone for eternity.. I'm still finishing the second one so I might be a little behind.
