What's crazy is that this would actually exist in the movie because the developers at PlayStation will also try to profit off the incident
Nah what's even crazier is that they once again blamed it on something that wasn't the real cause of his rampage. SNL claimed that the mention of the word "Jungle" set him off. PS1's claiming he had one cake too many. Not one person mentioned the balloons.
It wouldn’t exist as a video game directly based of a event by a big company would cause the company to be cancelled like imagine if Xbox released a Columbine shooting game

The prequel to Ape Escape is a lot darker than I remember.
this is fantastically well-done, from the graphics to the use of a midi(?) version of strange animal and the muffled dialogue from the movie itself. for some reason, the fact the game was based off the SNL skit instead of the actual show really got to me.
Thanks! I tried to make it fun and something that could have happened in the films universe, but still in line with the film's themes

The scariest part of the whole movie is now a game. 🐵☠️
I feel like it would be a survival puzzle game where you play during three different time sets. The game, and each chapter, would start with you talking to your therapist, friends, and family members at different intervals all while trying to figure out ways to escape the various rooms while they’re gone. After that, you would play bits of moments leading up to the incident, so that you can get attached to the characters and solve some basic puzzles. Finally, you would play directly after the incident, where you’re trying to find a way out of the studio by collecting supplies while avoiding the chimp. The game would most likely end with three “boss fights”. The first would be you leaving town in a vehicle as your worried loved ones look for you. The second would be you running from the chimp during the incident. And the third would be you, now playing as a policeman, rushing inside to put down the monkey before it gets to the child.
The game would end with that same police officer confronting the main character as he tries to flee the city and comforts him.
I give this a "A-" in recreating 90s graphics
This is done perfectly! Even down to the “eyeball lampshade” turning towards the camera right when Gordy does. Also I LOVE the in-universe description of the game you did!

I was extremely confused at first because I was pretty sure this was referencing that movie Nope, but right after I caught it, you mentioned SNL... which is like, what? I haven't seen SNL in many years but I'm pretty sure if they did a skit about a chimp killing people I would have remembered or heard about it by now. But then the description mentions the movie, so I'm not wrong. Did I forget a mention of SNL in the movie or something? It has been a few years since I saw it.
In the movie they reference a (fictional) SNL skit based on the (in-universe) event.
The fact this is made by a Pikmin RUclipsr was a biggest whiplash when checking up on his main channel!

Unfortunately back then they didnt have the technology to Render Chris Kattan's Glory which is why the devs used A Standard Chimp for the Gordy Model despite the game being based on the SNL Sketch.
Maybe we'll get a Sketch Accurate Kattan Skin for Gordy in The 4k Remaster 🙏

the commercial calls this "Based on the snl skit". They don't even acknowledge that this was a based on a show or a real tragic event that happened in the movie. They're referring to the snl skit making fun of the event.
