Hi Alex. Nice performance! I see your Schizoid SE shows covered pickups instead of the original 85/15 S the guitar comes with. Could you tell me why you removed them and what PU's you installed instead? Were the original ones too hot, too thin, too muddy, too dark, too noisy, lacking low, mid, high end...? I'm interested in this guitar, but after watching a YT video where someone almost defined it as crap, I'm wary of spending too much money in an instrument that will need a lot of (costly) improvements and specially concerned about the mast, because I'm not a luthier so any fret work or even more complicated work would be way too expensive and possibly harmful to the guitar (¡and me!). There's not a perfect guitar, but if I make an effort to buy this and it decays in three or five years it would be really dissapointing, because I don't want it to become a piece of furniture at home, but a playable guitar. Have you used the trem bar? Does it stand in tune? Would you recommend it just as an instrument? These days its price has fallen to about 500€, but I don't know whether it is good or just the opposite. These are a lot of questions, I know. Hi Albert, thanks! I still have the original pickups but I removed them because I had a pair of PRS Dragon IIs lying around, and I liked the esthetics of cover pickups more. The original pickups are not bad by any means but it seemed to me they lacked a bit of definition and the split sound was not that great, I did not do a deep comparison though with this ones though. The guitar is essentially a PRS SE standard, so around 400€ guitar, the higher cost is just for the custom graphics on the body, and tbh that's what I bought it for. I would only recommend the guitar for collection purposes, if you want a prs se as main guitar I would look at the SE Paul's guitar now, a bit more expensive but much more worth it 😅. I used to own an American custom 22 (you can see it in other videos, emerald green) and that guitar was on a whole different level. Don't get me wrong I like this one but I would not recommend the schizoid se for it's value as an instrument. I don't use the tremolo at all, I actually had it blocked so I can detune the guitar freely... So I can't really tell you if it stays in tune well, not a big tremolo fan myself 🤣 sorry if it's not the answer you were looking for...
I did try with the sax soprano 😅 but the key was not the right one and it was very uncomfortable, it wouldn't have sounded good... Years ago I tried to learn the flute (and this was one of the songs I wanted to learn) and it's freaking hard 😅
