Discovering how the other half of the pond dam is completely built out of sand
After thirty years of service in OES for the state of Ca, I am glad you explained why people rushing to help can make disasters even harder for the victims. Now could you please teach Politicians that they really do not help.
That truck would look good with a LD 18 sticker on it .
@@Todd.Roberts yes I wouldn't be surprised if Chris buys it
It just takes money $$$ do you have some that you don’t need $$$
@@dirtfarmer7472 sure I got plenty I don’t need . Lol
@@Todd.RobertsIf you got any money you don’t need I can take it off your hands 😂😂🤣😁
🎉 HI TODD that truck would look fantastic with a LD18 with Chris Guins Excavation llc under the LD18, RAP the whole truck it would look great have Chris's name on the drivers door and on the other have a tree half down and have it say under it TIMMMBERRR OH and under Chris's name have a picture of a dam and on the face of the dam have it say DAM RIGHT. What do you say about that. Thanks for sharing Chris you are the man. Be safe out there, Chris.
The time lapse section was really enjoyable and well produced! Thank you!
The 350 definitely deserves the name Dino.
Fred's mount at the Bedrock query.
Diggin' dirt to the big steam whistle says it's time to clock out one thing I really like about Chris's pond series is the variety of things he has to do with each one.
The things that he has to do & can do, experience counts, I couldn’t & wouldn’t do half what he does.
Problems and solutions!! Always amazed at how you deal with the issues and continue on!! Good progress today!! It’s coming along!!
I really appreciate the time lapse video as it enables me to really see what you are doing better than in cab shots. I am not able to visualize the way many people apparently can when described or even when seeing it from inside...it just looks like nothing is happening.
Pond Master making corrections and improvements to ensure longevity of this pond.
It is always problematic a extremly old Pond to repair. Nobody can to say with wath the Dam is to building. Then come by the Repair the great Problem to Day. You have nearly all to Experience and can Your self help . A first Class Video from this Work with surprise. Thanks. 👌
Early morning start - way to go. Wonder how well really that the sand dam and stumps held back the water. Huge project - caving walls - step by step process. Great to watch how you manage all this LetsDig18.
That 350 is an absolute beast. Moving more dirt quickly is a winner winner chicken dinner.
It’s would be good if you used a drone to show an overview of what you are doing in each episode, before and after. I love watching you use your equipment, you’re obviously very skilled. That said, I really lose track of what’s going on without an overhead view.
Me too
don't know how good you have it, I have done a good many of these with a drag line and dozer. that's all i had back in the day....
So has Chris
You have to Call the Big Truck Fred, So when you hit Bedrock Fred and Barney will help you out. Sorry couldn't help it. Lol
😂😂😂😂

FANTASTIC VIDEO
This is a big project
That 350 and that new dump truck print money in efficiency……

Hello everyone from Wales 🏴
look you
Great job 👍🏻 1:13 love how you talked it sounded like you were out of breath 5:51 love how you swung back to the pille you were dumping the stumps love how you laughed at 9:03 10:19 love how the side of the hole fell in i love when the bucket got close to the camera love the sound the pipe made when you threw it in the hole love how you said well dang it love how you said oh well love how you did finish saying tomorrow 29:13 love the little popping sound and I love how you are charging your phone in the excavator I didn’t know it could do that that’s cool 😎
Benching down with the 350 was a great idea
Glad to see you back at it again Chris, I really enjoyed these kind of jobs my friend! 🙋🏼👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Brian’s pond dam is going to be 100% better than it was, especially with a packed clay core trench! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻
At the 32:10 mark as you are swinging it gives a very nice look at the other side of the dam you have already put down the clay and graded out and packed in, looks good. You have a really good start on the core out despite the side cave ins you were experiencing at the start of the video, its impressive to see how tight the clay packs in, thanks for the update, enjoying the series on the dam, great “stuff”.
Another idea if budget is getting out of control, bend the core out to the front of that sand and build from the core a clay liner on that front. That way you dont need as much clay and don't have to move as much sand. Not typical but that dam is holding until it gets cut with water in that sand. Having a clay liner on the front of it would make that impossible. I know you always overbuild but this could go way over budget the more you see of it. Hope that dam you are taking out is good clay. You will be needing it.
Up north we call that first rock hard clay layer Hard Pan and like you say once you get through that it is better. Surprised you have not set up to have the truck lower yet. Also can you cut the clay deeper since you have so much top soil for backfill?
Love this. This was a fun video to watch especially with trying to get that core in place. Thanks for sharing, Chris.
Love this video Chris. its going very good this job .
THANKS!
Technical experience is the answer to the job and engineering skills

Thanks for sharing
Well done as usual
111 good Sunday morning everyone I hope you all enjoy your day we have rain here today again ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
See all that junk coming out of that dam dirt? Now you know why Core Trenches are dug...garbage in the dirt allows water a spot to travel in and leak.
The core trench is really the dam. All the fill on both sides is to support it and protect it.
I thought for a min. there when you had the machine holding the wall up, that it was just gonna flood out real quick , when I seen that little bit of water start to come threw !! lolol... But, ya got it packed on in real quick !! Just never know with something that Old and built out of Sand, and God knows what else is in there. But, it's coming on a long, hopefully everything will keep going pretty smooth !! Great as Always Chris !! Have a Great Evening, And, On to the Next !!
looks like there's a four foot layer that's leaking like an aquifer!
Thanks for the video. Stay dry.
In the next episode will have the beavers plug the pipe or not? Your guess is a good as mine.
Do you ever have a customer that doesn't want you to film their project or property?
Right after I made that comment you brought out the fact that the old technology was incapable of doing what you do today, so I’m humbled by that and apologize to the previous operators for their procedures that they performed
Time to trap those beavers and make hats.
🤡
Chris I enjoy your work.
Good morning my friend 😊😊❤
As long as chris one of the pond masters is on the job pond will be in good shape for serval yrs
There's nothing about a Volvo dumper! Had hoped you showed more of it driving.
We need Arron from dirt perfect to be the camera man 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
No thank you 👎
In my little town when I was younger along canal Banks and retaining walls they use this rotary bucket thing to dig a trench in the barrier and then they laid concrete. Eliminating boils or ground squirrel tunnels or boils. A bit costly.
Would it not be just as efficient to bulldoze that loose sand off the old dam? Enjoying the project!
Amazing
I'm guessing Chris the New haul truck going to be named BAM BAM you done said the hours and how good of shape it's in Geoff secretly won the lottery other day he's waiting to pay for it 😂
Chris I'm farther west than you are. The hurricane/ tropical storm, dumped a lot more rain on us than you got. I live close to interstate 77 in the east side, looking at a map. And about 45 minutes south of the Virginia State line. It was pretty bad here but the farther up in the mountains got it really bad. Boone flooded really bad.
Hope that was s good beaver dam!
MM77 Approved👍🏼👍🏼
Looks like a big sandbox
Chris can that type of sand be used on banks or beach type
It would soften rocking places
An type it is would also grown grass seen lots of it coal strip mine lakes an ponds here in western part ky
With the 350 bucket as big as it is, I doubt they make bigger ones to use. It's absolutely huge!
Poor beavers 😭🦫🦫🦫
Tropical storm Milton is following TS Helene so I hope your doing OK and ready.
Chris, can you narrow the core trench as you get to the ends where the water is shallower? Ive seen cores that were just wide enough for the compactor on smaller ponds.
Can’t believe all the organic material left in the dam by the previous operators
Give Daniel a call and help him with his pond. Arms family homestead
🙂
Seems that all that topsoil you have can be used on his fields where he has none
In 40 or 50 years the people will look back and say well they used the antique equipment that they had.
👍😎
Morning
Made it between quarters
👍
I am surprised Robert not helping today two hands make light work still what do I no IAM only watching Chris are the beavers still around could do with to bigger excavator anyway job going well now thanks 👍
Chris, Why not use the 350 to dig the core trench? Thanks
How many buckets does it take to fill up the new haul truck with the 350
Hi from UK
🤗❤👍
One of those stumps looks like it's full of lighter knot.
you can make him a big beach.
Or maybe a dozer with compactor behind probly a bigger dozer
need topsoil apply here.
wouldn't it make more sense to put the Topsoil where you dug rather than where you will be digging the next cut
The beavers come out at night ?? :-)
You are so used to slick clay mud. And now you are fighting sand, and that looks like why the dam failed in the first place.
I’ve figured out a small problem with the 350, the payment $$$
Something tells me this job is going over budget
The choice is to totally trench and drain the pond like that one cleared area he did or invest in totally coring the dam and rebuilding it. Not sure thrre is any third option.
Still wondering who's feeding the dogs etc at the farm. 😅
Dirt caves into a ttench

Standing ovation to you :)
