Like, the akademiya looked down on art for so long and pushed it down, but when the students actually see it with their own eyes, they have nothing else to say except how amazing it is. Even the guards didn’t want to stop her lol.
It's the poisoning influence of the sages. They have a single-minded obsession with the pursuit of wisdom and deem the arts to be a deterrence in said pursuit. Consequently the students and guards feign that they have no interest in such things in order to prove their commitment. Nahida said the same thing regarding dreams earlier on, that even though their dreams are supposed to be siphoned by the Akasha, sometimes people do remember their dreams to an extent but don't acknowledge as much because dreams, as stated by the sages, are supposedly frivolous and illogical, so the absence of dreams is an indication of the development of wisdom. In this case, Nilou's performance is so moving, though, that they can't pretend to not appreciate it like they normally do.

I agree. I only just did this archon quest a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it. I come back and watch this every so often as this is by far my favorite part out of any archon quest. It also made me regret ten fold not being able to pull for Nilou😊
I hate it when people call her brainless because she is a girl growing up in a society that disparages her at every turn. She never gives up on her passion. And she uses her art to actively rebels against an oppressive regime. Nilou is such an impressive character.
it did work actually, the plan initially was to being unga bunga with Al Haitham, but Nilou here served as the distraction for the "fake" instruction from the sage, imagined if we just goes straightly, it'll be difficult, the soldiers is divided and the one guarded the sage is little XD
This is the best archon quest HANDS DOWN. Like bro i felt like a fucking spy in this shi. Every character working together to take the Akademiya down? MADNESS. Alhaitham in his actor era? ICONIC. I literally screamed when i realised that it was all part of the plan. It was so fucking cool to see characters come together and pull something off like that. So cool.
Yes, it's a plan and execution type of narative that when done right would bring much enjoyment to the audience. I'm glad hoyos actually learn from the clustefuck of a story in inazuma and try for a more pacing plot.
The samsara loop part was the most surprising and exciting one for me. I was never expecting something like that, and that was the part where everything started getting deeper. Sumeru chapter from start to finish was definitely better than all previous stories, it took way longer and we were much more in the know of plans, Genshin archon quests get better and better with every region.
I really love that part too, adds to the heat of the moment. And I think those are sumeru scripts. Just a fun fact in case u didnt know: Writings found in inazuma are in teyvat version of japanese hiragana, liyue writings in teyvat version of chinese characters, sumeru are in characters similar to Devanagari meanwhile in the desert it's a whole different script used inspired from egyptian hieroglyphs. Mondstadt uses the universal teyvat script which are used in tutorials, but combined with few mondstadt unique and special characters here and there.
Such an underrated yet powerful moment. With the flow of Nilou's dance and the flow of the music, the plan flows too. My favourite part in all of this!
Wait, Alhaitam said that he was looking for her when Nilou approached them during the meeting in Grand Bazzar. And they are all went to Grand Bazzar, isn't it because they want to find Nilou and make her perform? Nilou was always in the plan, they just haven't find a way to told her yet And after Nilou dance cutscene, there's a flashback of the meeting in Aaru village which dehya recommends Nilou to be performing in public for their plan
Maybe she was a last minute addition. But she was the one who made the whole plan work. Without Nilou, Nahida's rescue would had been a complete failure.

I don't think that girl with blue hair is Setaria, she has white skin. Plus, Dottore said that Setaria was put in jail, she couldn't just stand outside of Akademiya.

It could be that she was let out during Jnagarbha day, as one of the close members of Azar's entourage. But regardless, this is indeed the same model for Setaria, with just perhaps different lighting than we'd seen her in before. After all, she's the only character we meet with that outfit, those eyes, the hair and the laurel wreath on her head.
And imo it was executed way better. The tension was palpable and more importantly, you could feel and see every character’s role. In the inazuma archon quest you were told that kokomi was smart, for example. In this one, you were SHOWN alhaithem’s plan and SHOWN how smart it was. Show not tell, great improvement
The contrast between brute strength and pure intellect made for a great change of pace. Brings a good sense of balance to the narrative. Lots of consideration went into creating themes that actually parallel wisdom/sagacity. Love it!
In Inazuma the story was sadly rushed (they tried to fit everything in three acts. In Sumeru they learnt their lesson and did five acts) and too much time was, honestly, weirdly distributed. My guess is that they had to rush it and the Genshin focused part of the company had problems.(there were rumors that the writer of the first two archon quests didn’t work there anymore. Not sure if this is real) I guess if we had five acts it would have been: ACT I: Make it end on the part we save Thoma from the Shogun. ACT II: Go to the resistance in Watatsumi. Meet Gorou and Teppei. Resistance stuff and politics? ACT III: More focus on the resistance and other stuff. Teppei experiences Rigor Mortis ACT IV: Back to Inazuma city, maybe make the battle against Signora on ACT IV or V. ACT V: Battle against the Raiden shogun. Resistance would help more somehow. I also think that it didn’t help how Ayato didn’t appear at all, seeing that we later learn he’s very involved on the plot’s development. There was too much focus on having cute moments with characters to make us bond, and it could have worked well with even four acts, but in three acts it feels like a distribution of 60/100 to things that weren’t really needed.
i really liked that we were able to walk and interact with NPCs as her just before this cutscene! it felt like things were actually happening where traveler wasn't involved instead of it just skipping to a cutscene and the character being like "oh yeah, i did this btw" hope we get more like this in the future :D
Sadly, my game glitched on most of the cinematic cutscenes of this arc. This scene, the ending of Scaramouche's fight, and the ending of Rukkhadevata never played for me, and I missed out on so many amazing cutscenes that I was really looking forward to since this update came out. 3:

It is interesting how Nilou's dance change due to different occasion… In the festival her dance was gentle and heart warming, in the oasis it was happy and free, but here it becomes teasing and contempting Hoyoverse surely did a lot of work on traditional arts
Sorta random thing I noticed: The guard who's not as willing to arrest Nilou is also slower to react to the Akasha's announcement, while the one who asks if they should stop her reacts quicker!
the CHILLS this cutscene gives me , the way it starts off so stoic and then the music intenses and it says " lesser lord kusanali has escaped from the sanctuary of surasthana " its so MMHMHMHM i love it.
I love the defiance in this. Even apart from the plan. This whole scene screams '' You want to shut me? Never! ''. I love it so much! And it the very reason why it worked so well as a decoy.

Another thing I realized is that this dance is essentially a groovy remix of the Sanctuary of Surasthana theme!! Which really works well, given the false order stated that Nahida escaped that very area.
One can view this as Nilou doing her part to help Nahida and the others, but it's also her giving a proverbial middle finger to Azar's "no arts" decree.
I took a break from genshin for awhile because my phone couldn't carry it anymore.. But now i'm back and I finally got to see my nilou's performance in the game.. And it brings me so much joy... Oh how I love the wonderful world of Teyvat !! 🎀

The entire arc had a build up like that of a Tarantino movie. Every little thing mattered and was used to full potential. Writers really upped their game this time
Kind of a random side note but something I feel worth mentioning. I really love those moments in GI cutscenes where they do the text appearing on the screen, it's such a simple lowkey thing but the style they do it in and the moments they've used it makes those scenes so damn cool like this at 1:15 where it's digital and then you can suddenly see it glitch out in the middle as the larger plan starts to come together or the "close your eyes" scene during the Raiden fight where it's done in the traditional calligraphy drawing looking style and it almost sort of just floats on the screen as the thoughts slowly enter the travelers mind like whispers with while the visions start to resonate. Those small attention to details and flavoring really enhances the scenes and is something I love about GI like you can tell they're really going all out to capture the magic of that moment. It's even more enhanced by how well it corresponds with the music too, where things immediately get ramped up on the soundtrack the moment it glitches.
love how khaldun and yavanani are there too lmao. (they’re the two arguing students who appear at the akademiya during daytime, and lambad’s tavern during nighttime)
i love this scene because it reminds me of peaceful protests that were done using art. nilou refuses to be silent and uses her dance as a way to not only help with the plan but to also show the akademia that they cannot silence her or anyone else. i especially loved this because it really reminds me of current real life events going on
Something I love about this is that she is like literally risking her life for this and I love that shes so brave for doing this infront if Zubayr theaters number one enemy
The amount of time I have watched this is a lot and the most of every other cutscenes maybe it's because of how she dance or the music but I always come back to this one and her other of the Dance of Subzerus
By pure coincidence, the melody at 1:06 is very similar to Henri Seroka's Waltz. I'm not sure if its related, but I discovered that melody when it randomly played on spotify
If i had a nickel for every time the traveler has taken part in a rebellion, I would have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
My favorite part about this cutscene was how they gave me control of Nilou just prior only to walk up a flight of stairs and not use her in actual gameplay.
Bro the nilou cutscenes really makes me wish she was a catalyst user. Like it's perfect ,she is a dancer and catalyst kinda fits her vibes too. But that apart, nilou dance is really amazing i couldn't control laughing when the guards said let watch a bit longer. Edit : Kinda salty i couldn't get to pulverize the sages (Azar specifically). I get wanting to punch his smug face, but I do have to admit I think completely outsmarting him is still more satisfying way to beat someone like him, especially the scene when he starts to realize things are spiraling out of control and he looks and sounds completely dumbfounded trying to process how exactly.
Me: "The guards aren't gonna be distracted, unfortunately" *Watches as the guard says about watching longer* Me: "I stand corrected... doubt the higher ups would be too impressed, these things never go without a hitch"
She actually wrapped up the dance before they started pouring out of the ackademiya, meaning she knew they weren’t coming for her, since Alhaitham also would have mentioned that she would be safe in the plan
You can actually see how stressed she was in that moment, throughout whole dance you can see she was pretty much smiling and happy but at the end when guards started running, you can see that she was stressed so much
this was like one of the most epic moments in the Finale, The Plan The Revolt The Strategy The Dialogues The Storyline The Voice Acting Everything was on point

The entire arc had a build up like that of a Tarantino movie. Every little thing mattered and was used to full potential.
Writers really upped their game this time
Kind of a random side note but something I feel worth mentioning. I really love those moments in GI cutscenes where they do the text appearing on the screen, it's such a simple lowkey thing but the style they do it in and the moments they've used it makes those scenes so damn cool like this at 1:15 where it's digital and then you can suddenly see it glitch out in the middle as the larger plan starts to come together or the "close your eyes" scene during the Raiden fight where it's done in the traditional calligraphy drawing looking style and it almost sort of just floats on the screen as the thoughts slowly enter the travelers mind like whispers with while the visions start to resonate. Those small attention to details and flavoring really enhances the scenes and is something I love about GI like you can tell they're really going all out to capture the magic of that moment. It's even more enhanced by how well it corresponds with the music too, where things immediately get ramped up on the soundtrack the moment it glitches.

i love this scene because it reminds me of peaceful protests that were done using art. nilou refuses to be silent and uses her dance as a way to not only help with the plan but to also show the akademia that they cannot silence her or anyone else. i especially loved this because it really reminds me of current real life events going on
Something I love about this is that she is like literally risking her life for this and I love that shes so brave for doing this infront if Zubayr theaters number one enemy
The amount of time I have watched this is a lot and the most of every other cutscenes maybe it's because of how she dance or the music but I always come back to this one and her other of the Dance of Subzerus

My favorite part about this cutscene was how they gave me control of Nilou just prior only to walk up a flight of stairs and not use her in actual gameplay.

Bro the nilou cutscenes really makes me wish she was a catalyst user. Like it's perfect ,she is a dancer and catalyst kinda fits her vibes too. But that apart, nilou dance is really amazing i couldn't control laughing when the guards said let watch a bit longer.
Edit : Kinda salty i couldn't get to pulverize the sages (Azar specifically). But was kinda expected ig. Not just for nahida... I'm kinda mad at the way he talked to nilou at the sabzeruz festival too.

I get wanting to punch his smug face, but I do have to admit I think completely outsmarting him is still more satisfying way to beat someone like him, especially the scene when he starts to realize things are spiraling out of control and he looks and sounds completely dumbfounded trying to process how exactly.
