No, it was not an encore and was recorded in 1983 in London with no overdubs. The whole concert is fantastic, especially the encore Telegraph Road.....

Legitimate question: Is Telegraph Road an encore? I thought there were only two encores, Solid Rock and Going Home.

@@patrickquinlan3056 Can confirm. I think it surprised everyone, even Mark. You can see just how much he looks back at Terry and smiles throughout. This is such a fine guitar song, but Terry is totally driving the band here, and Mark loves it.

@@LukeMaynard Thanks for that confirmation. In the 70s I used to watch Terry playing with the Welsh Pub Rock band, Man. I consider him to be the best drummer I have ever seen live and I have seen many bands. He was a wonderful addition to Dire Straights.

Love this live version. The guitars were incredible as one would expect. However, I was really impressed by the drummer. He was just killing it. Overall such a tight group of musicians.

That could be true. We listened to a lot of great rock in that car. I also remember We couldn't get that tailgate open and we were late for a gig so Greg kept pushing that power window down until we could open it. That window stayed permanently down after that. lol.

This live performance blew my mind! ❤
As for the reaction, I'm pretty sure I could be more lively at reacting to this in my sleep! And so factually incorrect....filmed in 1983 (not the 90s) and it certainly wasn't an encore!
Every single musician on that stage that night deserved to be there ❤ I wasn't born until 3 years after this performance and never had the chance to see Dire Straits live....wow how I feel I have missed out!!
Off to watch someone else react to this with a little more excitement 😂

A pre-Band-Maid high point in my music listening. Similar casual application of talent. Similar joy of performance. Similar energy exchange with the audience. Mark is a story teller where Miku is a poet. This song is on my list of perfect songs. Perfect story perfectly told.

Do you know what you have just witnessed,? one of the greatest performances ever and you nonchalantly pass it off as just an encore which by the way it wasn't.Quick tip for future reactions. Try and look like your enjoying the videos or like me they will not ever click on anything you put out in futrue.
