Did a metal only scrap yard cleanup in my backyard today. I felt like The Scrap And Pallet man first time in 20 years .Steel is 10 cents /lb here was surprised. Copper mixed is $2.40/lb at 24lbs was $57.60, car radiator gets $8 at 62cents/lb ,car batteries get $6/pc. Cast aluminum gets 41cents/lb, dirty aluminum 15cents/lb. I Did good without saying or bragging how much and my yard looks better. I was partially inspired by you Paul and your channel to do it,HA!. Thanks ...Glenn

Car batteries at $6 each? You should have taking them to either to AutoZone or O'Reilly's auto parts store. They give 10.00 each per a battery store credit on a card. Up to 5 batteries per a day

So I landed a job working on a fishing vessel and I tell you that the Coast Guard should get more praise than they do. A bunny will fit right through that gate and fence, they can go right between them bars. Rabbits will chew through your power cords, so keep an eye out for them. I have had to replace my daughters power cords on her TV, VCR and many other items in the past three years she has had a rabbit. It got so bad, I started running her cords in Flex Conduit to keep her rabbit from chewing through them.

That description of it as well as the habits of those box elder bugs sounds like what we here in the Pacific Northwest (SE Washington state) call "Lovebugs". I wonder if those are actually the same just with different terminology or are they 2 different insect? Research time, I suppose... LOL!
Nope. They're different. Cool, though, because now I know the duifference based on research. Had a boatload of lovebugs in the Spring, and quite a few box elder bugs in Autumn.
This year, the big thing this summer was GIANT stink bugs (0.7" long??) I think I saw ONE "regular-sized" one and about 48,006 of the larger ones. LOL!

About bugs, we have something called love bugs…twice a year, in spring and fall. Where they go in other seasons, who knows. But, they’re a pain, they will ruin your cars paint job if you don’t get them off your car. They don’t do anything other than reproduce, you see one you see the other, hooked together, hence the name love bug. 🤦🏼‍♀️. Unfortunately, growing up, my mom and I took a trip to our relatives always in the spring, the love bugs were always so splattered on our car-yuck! 🤢. ✌🏼❤️

I didn’t see any Boxelder bugs this fall in Washington. Usually we have a lot of them too but not this year. I’m not sure why. I know that last December was half the temperature it is right now. It’s mid 40s and last year in December. it was 20s and even down in the single digits.

That chair was worth saving, people are paying good money for them, if I was you I would atleast set them to the side at scrap yard so someone could refurbish them

If you think it's depressing in Illinois you should be on the east coast this year. It rains 3 out of every 5 days. LOWELL MASShad 7 inches of rain in 1 hour last July. Montpialer Okmo Ludlow and surrounding areas of Vermont are still recovering. It's pouring again this weekend.

When you have your special memories you should write them down in a notebook. I have done that with my memories for my grandchildren. It’s important family history for them to know.

The ultimate scrap truck would be a mini garbage truck where you can pack all the scrap and fit more

I think the rabbit will go right through those bars on your fencing. They can go through some small spaces. Good luck though.

Yep, you're right. The rabbit walks right through as if the gate fence thing isn't even there

Those chairs are called Tulip chairs and if that one were sanded and painted it would sell for $50-$100 easily.

If you put pairs in a brown paper bag for a couple days , they will ripen.
