One of the most poignant pieces of music in the repertoire. Thanks to all for this wonderful music.

I lost both sets of parents within four months in 2018. I discovered this piece soon thereafter, and to this day, cannot listen to it without completely losing it. Thank you for posting such a lovely performance. It rips my heart to shreds.

Don't understand why Finzi is not more famous. Maybe he will be one day.

A new discovery for me, for which I am grateful. This is only the second piece of Finzi's I have heard, and now I must search for more and listen.

@@ibamINV Then you will be delighted with echoes of this work in his Elegie for violin and piano Op.22. Daniel Hope has a wonderful rendition of this piece.
I will also recommend Finzi's Romance for strings in E flat and Bagatelles for clarinet. Warm greetings from Miami. 🌞🦋

Quite lovely and affecting -- Finzi was not afraid to exhibit genuine tenderness in his music.

Absolutely the best performance of this piece I've ever heard. Slower is better and anything under eleven minutes (there are many) doesn't do it justice. Finzi would be pleased with this one!!

I have no issues with the tempo whatsoever. It's just played a little slower than many performances I've heard of this piece, but in fact I really like it. The pace readily connects with 'the soul' and I think, makes you inclined to be more contemplative. Thank you for sharing it.

I tried typing something but I can't. I'm trying to understand my reasons why I'm so affected by this music. Speechless by beauty! What an amazing orchestra and sensitive pianist.

Gut wrenchingly emotional. Full of longing and pain and love and tenderness. Finzi really felt.

What a piece from universe. Nostalgic, touching, peaceful and sadness a bit. Thanks so much for posting. I only have been listening recorded one but this video is so gold. Will visit regularly.
Just saying that my elder son played Finzi's clarinet piece and won first prize some years ago so I thought Finzi wrote only clarinet but was so wrong.

This is the most perfect rendition I have heard! A little piece of heaven - uplifting and mournful at the same time. Like others have said I prefer the slower tempo ❤
