    I just noticed that the other principal flute is playing in the orchestra. That is wonderful. What great support between colleagues.

    Wow. I think this is probably one of my favorite performances of this piece. One of the most musical as well. No easy task. 1st mvt. Intense without sounding frantic. The 2nd mvt wonderous and languid. 3rd mvt, simply BRILLIANT. Also intense and controlled. Beautiful tone throughout all registers. So relaxed. Nothing seemed forced or difficult. Made this piece sound easy. WONDERFUL performance.

    Listening Clara once more during the dramatic suffering of COVID-19. Yet with the performances as solo, duo, trio or ensambles of the HR FRANKFURT Sinfonie musicians, I have had the fortune and the great pleasure to admire them all as what they are: wonderful soloist on each of their instruments, strings, wood winds, brass, harp and percussion. All of them along with Clara receive a warm congratulations.

    I'm a flutist (amateur) and I've never cared for the Ibert Concerto, it all sounded too frantic and frenetic. BUT WOW! What a performance Clara gave -- I loved it. She played it with a clarity and sensitivity that I've never heard before. Brava 👏👏👏👏

      @@rudolphmcneill515 I don't think having the ability to play it makes that much of a difference. I can appreciate the amount of practice that needs to go into memorizing and playing this extremely difficult concerto. I have no interest in even attempting to learn this piece but I definitely can appreciate it.

    The problem all flute concertos have is that the orchestra has to practically mute itself so that the flute can be well heard. Both Andrade and the orchestra here do a great job in balancing their playing to each other. Well played!

    • @lisaragsdale1530
      @lisaragsdale1530 3 года назад +3

      This is predominantly in 20th Century concerti due to the larger orchestras. However It is also due to composers not fully aware of how soft a flute sounds even without the orchestra. Thankfully Ibert did not allow his orchestration to drown the flute!! P.S. I played a flute solo with my HS concert band which required very little brass and most in the audience could hear me and my flute!

    • @marvinkmooneyoz
      @marvinkmooneyoz Год назад

      Live orchestra should embrace mics and amplifiers. Then you can have the brass section pushing it, and still hear a single flute line no problem

    This is my second time enjoying this wonderful performance of a great concerto! I'd been wanting to hear Clara in a solo role; now I'm taking full advantage of the opportunity. She's a virtuoso extrordinaire - and performing the Ibert and Nielsen concerti in the same concert must be a formidable task indeed. The Ibert has a mesmerizing slow movement, and a fantastic cadenza in the finale. Bravo, everyone!

    Ibert was a very interesting composer, with a quite conservative style for his time. He was unfortunately eclipsed by such composers as Ravel, Milhaud, Roussel, Honegger, Poulend, Fl. SCHMITT. The style of this concerto is typically French, close to Poulenc or Milhaud.

      orkestrada çalarken bile parlayan bir yıldız, özellikle Fazıl Say'ın olağan üstü solistliğini yaptığı Beethoven'in 3. piyano konçertosunda çaldığı minik solo parçasıyla ortaya çıkıyor. Kendisini candan kutluyorum, bence HR Senfoni onsuz olmaz.
