As a Past Wilbur fan, I agree with Tubbo. His "apology" was just an attempt to manipulate people into thinking he was innocent.
I felt betrayed and disappointed. I had trusted and loved him for years :(

Wilbur did confess on Twitter about it, however the entire "apology" (more of just making getting therapy and "getting better" as excuses for an apology) was nothing. It wasn't even an apology in general, it was just Wilbur trying to play it off with the excuse that he's getting better and is going to therapy.
He never even actually stated an apology in the passage, he just made it about himself and never stated his wrongdoings which is incredibly disappointing.@@numi8985

FOR THE RECORD: I do not support domestic abuse. I felt so sad when reading wilburs tweet and watching shubbles vod because wilbur was my comfort stream for a decent few years so I was AND STILL ARE in immense shock.
I don't support him anymore, but I just can’t believe it. I mean, I know it's true, but it's shocking to everyone.
I don't think what Wilbur did was at all ok, but I feel sort of bad for him, I've never really supported Wilbur but I imagine most people would react like that after what they had done, It must've been horrible what Shelby went through with Wilbur and all, but I don't think Wilbur was in the right sort of mental state when he was dating Shelby, or right now even, he must've been stressed and scared, especially being such a public figure and most people would react like that if they were in that sort of situation.
What Wilbur did was absolutely vile, but my question is: does that singular sin cancel out all the good he's done. Of course, if more responses are released and we find out he's done this on multiple occasions to other people then there is in no way to redeem it, but I think a second chance should be forgiven as long as he directly addresses the entire community with a formal apology on stream that is much more sincere.

@Hexatory the problem is that in his "apology" he wasn't even acknowledging the harm he had done. Of course he did good and wasn't in a right mental state, but the least you can do in this situation is making yourself accountable of your actions and apologize genuinely. I'm devastated since Wilbur was one of my favorite streamers, but I don't think I can forgive this one.
@@kanorune He must’ve had to, you have to imagine the fact the apology was also likely guided by a lawyer, I don’t know whether or not he would be more sympathetic or apologise towards the people directly if he didn’t have to make the response avoid admitting his unlawfulness, but he couldn’t have formulated a much better response with the current situation he’s in.
What I’m trying to say is: The likely reason his response was so dull and self-focused was probably because of legal reasons. You might say “well he literally admitted doing it”, but it’s stated nowhere in the apology that he admits to doing it, his words seem like they were being chosen cautiously so that the apology couldn’t be used against him in the court of law.
Yeah the moment I found out, immediate unfollow and unsub on Wilbur’s RUclips and twitch channels- I felt sick to my stomach when I heard what came out of Shelby’s mouth, I hope she gets all the love and support as well as the band members and streamers that were deeply effected by his actions

@@TheLocal_Menacea lot of people, especially on twitter, have decided to redesign wilbur’s characters (revivebur, ghostbur, q!wilbur, etc) into their own characters. they’ve created more/different backstories for him, or just changed his name, added headcanons, etc. some have even kept him the exact same, but since they’ve contributed so much to the character, they’ve decided to just call it their own.
this is your creative playground, and if you feel comfortable to keep it, i would suggest that you do, knowing that content creators and their characters are *not* the same :)

When I read about Wilbur's message thingy, I went crazy. Like- everything was just... wow. Idek. I feel terrible anything like that happened to Shelby, but it's difficult to unfolow Wilbur. He was one of the reasons I actually smiled all of last year. But like Tubbo said: If you're okay with domestic violence and shit, just leave this community. You're a disgusting person.

You can like the art without liking the artist. Make sure that no-one makes you feel bad for having enjoyed his videos or music, as long as you stand by that he did something wrong, you can take your time in readjusting your view of him

There are some people who are just that bad and their "art" isn't a good excuse to continue to see them in a good light or support them. Personally, I cannot consume his content without being reminded of his actions.

@@abbylu116 idk, i think people put their own interpretations onto art and perceive it in their own way, so your connection with a song’s message or themes could be different from other listeners or even the artist. For me personally, it’s just the background knowledge that the artist has done bad things that makes it harder for me to want to connect even if I do with the art’s message or at least my interpretation of the message.
I have NPD. And it's been weird to like, listen to Shubble talk about everything because I feel like I genuinely know exactly what's going on through Wilbur's lense because I have done alot of toxic things, and I feel like I can understand the sort of motivation and defense mechanisms there. It's really weird to watch because I feel like I can understand exactly why he doesn't get it, and why he doesn't get why it's wrong. Narcissism really is a case of not learning how to fill that self actualization hole, and never having a parent who filled it, so you seek it out from others. But truth is nobody else can fill that hole, no matter how much they validate you or your interests ect. And so what happens is you just live your life with defense mechanisms always active to avoid feeling hurt or rejection because "I am already empty/nothing, if somebody says I'm nothing or bad then I can't cope with that".
I was talking to my friend months ago about how I got the vibe from wilbur that he was trying to put alot of his quirks ect on display. It didn't seem malicious, it just seemed like the need to be seen and the need for validation from those around you that maybe a child would present. I didn't have the words for it at the time though. There's this aspect of narcassism where you genuienly don't understand how you can be wrong in the same way a child just doesn't understand sometimes. Because you build yourself these walls so that you're not the bad guy, and you have all your ducks in the row with why your'e technically ok. It's weird.
I don't support Wilbur at all, Shubble is a victim, and no matter what trauma or excuse it's not right. This is about Shubble, and I just kind of hope that he can realize that he has his walls up and his defenses up. And I hope that he can work through his trauma enough to step aside and begin to handle this properly. It's weird to empathize with the abuser. But I 100% back Shubble. What happened with her wasn't right. Being a narc doesn't make you abusive, but you can be an abusive person with NPD. And I think that's what was happening. It's really unfortunate and upsetting. I am gennuinely really glad that Shubble has the support that she has.

I agree with Shubble that he took out whatever he was going through on her. I hope he gets actual help. I'm so glad Shelby found good therapists and healed to a point where she could talk about this publically.

@@toobodyPeople can analyze or add context to why someone might do something bad, without it being an excuse. Hurt people hurt people, without that being an excuse for their behavior. People can also learn from the behavior so they don't do those actions. It helps no one to think of all abusers or people with abusive behavior as inhuman monsters. Obviously the victim is the most important thing in this situation, and I hope she's able to heal.

allegations is just used to avoid legal trouble. the defendant can sue in such cases if the crimes weren't proven and convicted in a court of law. even if someone murdered someone and literally video taped themselves doing it, they could still sue news articles that don't say allegations.

If you haven't watched Aimsey and Ranboos response to this id suggest you do because im just kinda repeating what they have said including tubbo here, but i just need to get this out there to remind people. Yes you can of course be sad disappointed and angry in Wilbur for what he's done. And don't get me wrong i am too. But you should ONLY ever be focused on the ACTUAL VICTIM HERE. Shelby. Exactly. Okay so part of supporting the victim is condemning the abuser, but people are going about it all wrong. Especially Wilbur’s ex-fans. So often people are parasocial online, and we must remind ourselves that we don’t know these creators. People are making it about themselves and their disappointment that this man is an abuser instead of focusing on the victims. It’s okay to be sad, but maybe don’t post about it so often where Shelby can see so much talk about her abuser. Talk to someone in real life instead. Spend time with friends, etc. This shouldn’t be about Wilbur’s friends either. They need time to speak out and we shouldn’t expect them to do it immediately, especially when they could be victims of his toxicity too.

I have felt so disheartened seeing people dismiss abuse victims these past couple of days, but also so warm to see some of the genuine support displayed to Shelby by her friends or fellow content creators. People need to remember this isn’t online drama, this is real and this is serious. So many abuse victims are out there. SO many. I was r*ped by my father as a kid (who is in jail with no bond, trial should be in about a year or two), and I’m 17 now… I have faced so much support, and also betrayal. I feel sad rn. When I found out about the allegations at the beginning I was already stressed out thinking that someone I had looked up to was an abuser, and now, here I am. I've seen this clip a few times now and each time I get grossed out by the chat. the "here we go"s and the "I WAS HERE"s and the spamming of emojis and hearts just annoyed me. I'm glad Tubbo spoke out against it because I always see it in other streamer's chats and they never acknowledge it.

I’ll honestly still continue to listen to LJ and his personal music. I do not agree with what he did at all, though I won’t pretend like his music hasn’t gotten me through some dark things. When one of my closest friends passed away, quite literally, the sound of Wilbur’s guitar was the only thing that kept me sane. It was my lifeboat.
This news is deeply upsetting, though I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t eternally thankful for Wilbur’s music. I think it would be childish on my part to disregard the impact his content has made on my life, and I have already shed plenty of tears thinking about all the ways he will no longer be part of it. To new music, to streams, to wine streams, to sorry boys, to QSMP… so much has been erased overnight because of his actions.
Right now I may only wish the best for both parties involved. For Shubble and all his exes for obvious reasons, but for Wilbur too. It’s no secret that he has struggled with mental health throughout his entire life (his music is a living testament to everything he hates about himself), so I also wish him the best. May he one day overcome the demons in his head, and genuinely become a better person.

I didn't know what to feel once I heard the news. I trusted Wilbur, I was a fan of him ever since 2020, that was until now. I feel really bad for Tubbo and all those who used to be friends with Wilbur, I can't imagine how that must've felt after knowing your "friend" had been an abuser. I feel so betrayed and I am very disappointed in Wilbur. His "apology" didn't even have a single "sorry" in it and my all my respect for him have come down the drain.

Wilbur is the reason that I found out about people like Schlatt, Tommy, Tubbo, Ranboo, and the whole Dream SMP back when he did the storyline. This whole situation sucks, I really looked up to him as a creative and to learn he’s this much of a scumbag is awful. I hope the victims of his abuse are doing okay, and this should probably be taken to court considering abuse is very much a crime.

1. My guess is they will probably kick him out. Another content creator named Forever also had a massive controversy about being in a relationship with a teenage girl when he was in his 20s, and was kicked out and his character on QSMP made canonically dead. Wilbur never played much on the server anyways, so it doesn't change too much. As for Tallulah, Philza has already canonically adopted her and is her primary caregiver, so I doubt she would be affected.
2. Obviously I don't know for certain, we can only speculate but I assume Tommy would not want to invite Wilbur back on Sorry after this.

It took an hour after reading Will's statement and watching Shubble's vod to fully digest this, but out of the 4 paragraphs Wilbur wrote, only 1 sentence in the 2nd paragraph vaguely acknowledges (if you can even call it that) the harm done, and its not until the end of the 3rd paragraph that he even writes something remotely close to an "I'm sorry".
I used to be a Wilbur fan before I found out what happened. The allegations really hurt me. I was a REALLY BIG FAN! I used to tell my parents about him and talk about how cool he is, when I found out what he did, My heart broke. I feel really horrible, I cried A Lot of people that I used to be fan of turn out to be bad people.

For those doubtful, watch Shelby’s vod. The way she talks about how Wilbur hurt her was that he deliberately would go past her limits and occasionally smile after hurting her. He thought biting her and bruising her all over was a huge joke and clearly got something out of hurting her.

I agree with people when they say that this was a bad apology, cause it was, but I don’t agree with people saying that the apology was meant to be manipulation to getting people to think he’s innocent. He admitted to being the abuser he doesn’t think you’ll think he’s innocent, I think he genuinely thinks that this is a good apology and that it will get people to continue supporting him (which it’s not), and while that’s a problem I don’t think it’s manipulation. I think the problem is that he talked about himself and bettering himself too much,(which made it seem more like a statement on the situation and not an apology) and that made people think he was trying to get them to “belive he’s innocent” and he didn’t really address what Shelby was going trough and didn’t really give an sincere apology. This whole thing has been shocking, disappointing but I've found it mostly confusing. I never watched Shubble much before now but was a huge fan of Wilbur for 3 years. I never thought he would do anything so appalling and I was having a hard time reconciling the imagine I had in my head of Wilbur and the image I had of Shubble's abuser. Tubbo just helped me to get past that, he made it real. And it hurts to think that a big part of the community I love so much could be so horrible, but Tubbo is proof that it's still not all bad and there are people trying to advocate for the right thing. Tremendous amont of respect for Shubble, coming out about abuse online especially when you know how popular your abuser is is an incredibly daunting thing and she did it all with confidence, courage and a steadiness that blew my mind.

Then months and months later this girl caitibuzz comes on stream crying and saying she was sexually assaulted by George. She brings no evidence, George then comes out with a response saying everything was fine that night and that she got up multiple times to go use the bathroom or get a drink of water and willingly laid back down with George on the couch and if it was really that uncomfortable then why did she keep laying back down despite that fact and then she stayed after her friends left and even got up to tell them bye and then laid back down again with George on the couch. George and Caiti then proceeded to text with her talking about hanging out again multiple times through texts, all these texts where through iMessage and not instagram like she alleged and when he found caiti's instagram and figured out why she never mentioned her age to him cus she was 18 he felt lied to and stopped talking to her back in late August of last year. Then all of a sudden after Wilbur's false allegations came out, she felt like it was a good time to dogpile onto the false allegations Shubble made with her own on George. The only reason I call both of these false allegations is the fact both of them cried with NO TEARS and did the same cry you are trained to do in improv class while also dog piling their own false allegations of sexual assault with personal attacks about their mental health like how Wilbur never cleaned up after himself and was neglecting the bare essentials of life and with George how he had "so much power" cus he was a big creator and how he could ruin her life if she spoke out instantly and talk bad about her like George has ever done that ever with anyone.

He admitted to it AND shubble made an entire stream talking about it, at the time she didn't name him but the community peiced it together and then wilbur admitted to doing that. In shubbles stream at first it was consensual and near the end of the relationship he ignored the safeword and kept biting. He was doing it very often and with such force it left bruises and or marks. She developed anxiety from it because she was around a person who kept hurting her. Yes he'd say sorry afterwards but the action continued, the "genuine apology" was just a means to go do it again later. Shubble hasn't said if she was coerced in making a safe word or not but from how she talked about the situation she never liked it to begin with.
