thanks for the reply, I got the motor to go in one direction by jumping it out, I think the brushes are stuck on one side at least, I plan on cleaning them up and retrying in a few days, Good information, thanks again
Hi I’ve got a Yamaha 50deto. The year is stamped with the letter g, do you know what year that is? I’m having trouble finding a tilt trim motor as Yamaha stopped making them so after a aftermarket part will be the next step but I’m having trouble finding one
Hey, Congratulations for you! Good Job,! How I know if the problem is the switch botom of motor? I asked it because sometimes the mine fail and when I put wd40 in it works goog, It's a coincidence or not? tks.
I’ve replaced my relay twice now and keeps burning out the relay after working for a few months (usually unexpectedly, when we get to the boat ramp). Any idea why this would be? Thanks
I sort of have the same problem - the down was clicking , I replaced it & the same thing happens - I bypassed the trim motor and that works - well , I’m buying another down solenoid & I’ll see if this works & reply in 2 weeks
@@johncallaghan8854 mine cuts in and out at both trim switches not all the time I disconnected it at the relay and jumped it like you showed works fine that way lol So I may just start at replacing the relay first mines a 2010 f60

You're very welcome, glad it helped you out
ty dude
while on the water/mooring bypass the relay and directly connect the tilt/trim motor to the battery with 30 amp fuse and ON OFF ON switch.

What would cause the motor to run and just stop wait a couple minutes then works again.

Is that the the case usually? What about the trim button on binical? Mines doing that won’t go up all the. Time even at the switch on the outboard
If it's not working at the trim switch on the motor, then the issue is at the motor not the binical

@@markkus1134 yep sounds like the relay, mine started same way, at both switches.
Relay us an easy change out, less than an hour
Easy fix to just replace it or did you open it up and clean it?
Yes very easy fix to replace, the part was available on Amazon
So if the motor didn't respond , the relay is good and the motor is bad ?
Yes, you've by passed the relay so if the motor doesn't move it's the tilt motor that has the issue
