Gambit was willing to go all in and put everything he had on the line to make Rogue happy despite the *cards dealt* to them. The least Rogue could've done was respect that and be honest with him.
No, he didn't. He was never angry at Rogue. In fact, he quicly figured it something to do with her powers and he wanted to assure her it wasn't her fault. For Rogue, being with Magneto was her only chance to feel truly human. A life without feeling another's embrace can really break a person. With Rogue, her desire to feel turned into desperation. This just shows how much of a tragic character, Rogue is. Her life is hell. For Remy, he just feared there would not be anyway around it. For Rogue, it was at this moment, she completely realized she loved Remy more than she thought. He wasn't just a typical womanizer, but someone who truly understood what true love is and never denied it. It wasn't so much about anger or resenement, it was more about him being afraid they couldn't be together due to Rogue's inability to another person without killing. Gambit realized if she killed him, she couldn't live with herslef and Remy just couldn't put her through that. It's a lot more complex than we realize.
So many great lines in this whole episode! "When I look at you, all I can see is the things I can never do." "You light up everything you touch, but never me." "Some things are deeper than skin, chere." Beautiful!

Gambit is probably the most emotionally mature out of all the x-men. He handles things like this with such patience and calmness. I fu*king love him, and hopes that they bring hin back in season 2.

Is it wrong that I'm legit gleefully anticipating Rogue's reaction to Apocalypse bringing Gambit back as the Horseman of Death? And that it's a particularly bitter and brutal reunion on Remy's end with lots of horror and remorse on Rogue's?
its weird they decided to adapt this dumbass storyline of a 20 something year old woman having s3x with a old man. This didn’t even fly in the 90s (at least without controversy) . So why in 2024?
Magneto can give Rogue what she wants, to be able to touch someone, but Gambit can give her what she needs, someone who truly loves her. Sucks she can't have both right now.
That’s extremely selfish of her to want both. Actual relationships only work like that if everyone’s polyamorous, which isn’t true of Gambit nor Magneto. She hurt Gambit regardless of her reasons. The script-writers should make it so that he moves on if he ever comes back. She needs to live with her decision.
I can understand Rogue, especially after watching the episode where she wanted to be able to touch someone in TAS. She has the physical connection that she's been yearning for with Erik, but there's an emotional connection with Remy that's unmatched. When you can love and go through the ups and downs with someone without physical touch that's special. I feel like Rogue is confused and she's stuck between both men which isn't a problem. At the end of episode 5, it was clear who her heart was with, but it was too late. It's going to be interesting to see how the rest pans out. At this point in time I don't mind either man that she ends up with. However it would be heartbreaking if she ends up with Erik, and then Remy comes back in the future (which I think will happen). In the comics she and Erik had a kid, but then in another universe her and Remy finally tied the knot. Blast this good writing.
So Rouge and Magneto only had a child in the Age of Apocalypse timeline. They don't stay together long in the main timeline. Also Rouge and Gambit are married in the main timeline currently
She can use the mutant collar to take away her powers temporarily like the humans use on the mutants gambit never gave up on her love is about making it work she shoulda looked for other ways they could be together instead of messing around with grampa magneto I lost all respect for rogue
@derrickbounds4761 I still like the pairing. It could go either way for me. But has the collar idea been created yet in this series? I don't think it has yet. In the comics yes but here no. Unless I'm wrong.
The subtext is amazing. When he holds the queen of hearts up he is representing rouge's last chance to reconcile. And when she failed he burned it. Nice touch.
Dude I watched the whole original series and kept blurting out, why are there any issues?! You have mind control powers, you have abilities to survive any danger. you can’t touch people? Your own enemies made the technology to temporarily negate them! Heck, you don’t wanna use the enemy’s evil technology? No problem! The savage lands negated their powers unless they had special tech to unnegate them! Just take a vay-kay for a weekend or two. Problems easily solved! Writers had easy outs in this world but just make the characters dumb enough to forget all this vital stuff. Heck they even have friends from the future! Why do they worry when their friends can come back in time to fix things up. Or even bring back tech to help them out. X-men is confusing to me. Especially how the show is about accepting people for who they are type of message, when “who people are” could actually be walking nukes or atom manipulation or brain wave rewriters. In real life we don’t have those problems with racism because all humans are just people. It’s not like latinos can shoot lasers from their eyes or whites can cause things they touch to explode at will, or blacks rewrite your minds to make you their servants. The metaphor gets mixed up when you make the character everyone is supposed to accept in society become an actual danger to society. If I could shoot bullets through my wrist or control all stones in the area with my mind, I think I would be a little more accepting of people who had concerns over my abilities. Like, I don’t wanna be a government experiment, but at the same time I wouldn’t object to wearing a power dampener in certain crowded areas. At that point I’d be a walking weapon of mass destruction and you can’t let people walk around with that type of power at their fingertips unsupervised. I’m just saying.
@MegaNinjaRyan yeah i never really understood why x men tries so hard to be an allegory for racism. Like having different colored skin is not the same as being able to kill anyone you touch or bend metal with your mind. When a minority of people gain superpowers, that is a legitimate cause for concern. But nah, we’re supposed to sympathize with the “mutants” who have incredible god-like powers they didnt work hard for instead of the normie NPCs who had to use technology and science to find a way to negate the mutant’s powers. Weird. Part of the reason why I cant get into x men completely, I have a had time suspending my disbelief.
Even if that is true, seems more like a gaslighting lie and the ultimate version of it’s not you it’s me….. anyways all jokes aside she literally could’ve told gambit then left to magneto
I get that she’s upset that she can’t touch him but thing is it’s the same for him but only difference is he’s doing it by choice so he easily could’ve been with someone he could be physical with but he didn’t cause he loved her. It takes two to make a relationship work yes magneto can touch you without hurting himself but love ain’t always physical and gambit loved her without hardly being able to lay a finger across her skin yet rogue threw that away just for the fact she can’t ever get physical with him, that is just insanity
Yeah, that's pretty much how she should've seen it. Gambit would easily said to rogue after she told him "i can't touch you" that "neither can i Chere, but even despite that i couldn't touch you. I still love you" Honestly, it was sad for Gambit to see when rogue and Magento held hands right in front of him.
Not disregarding anything that Lenore Zahn went through before recording, you can hear her pain the final time she says "I can't feel you" at the end of this episode. but this earlier scene makes it hurt even more. "Your heart may beat for me, but I can't feel it."
0:32 Notice how he threw heart cards, symbolizing his heart into the flames & not in a very good way too. Like,❤🔥. 0:46-1:08 Personally, I thought he was clinging so much to that one troupe where characters only say what's written for them in the books/comics only to realize that almost everything that he said was his counter argument to win her back before she became officially Queen. Gambit became one of my favorite X-men that almost rarely appeared in live action movies because I knew that he was a grown up on the inside. I only wished that he could break his glass before he walked away before everything went to smithereens. Wonder how many X-men knew Rogue's secret. @@kazum1809 Not the same thing as literally being unable to touch when you're together. And there's also a reason most long distance relationships fail.
Honestly, now that I rewatched this scene I have to point this out, why would Gambit get ticked at Rogue for being with Magneto as that relationship between them happened clearly before Rogue even knew him & I don't think Gambit was mad at Rogue for getting it on with Magneto behind his back but rather he was mad that she was leaving the X-Men to pressure a secret ploy made by Genosha consul.
The show is pretty okayish, but this plot line is the dumbest addition and should had stayed in the comics where it was forgotten about. They ruined 5 seasons of development between the 2 and randomly shoved in a forced romance when Magneto never actually interacted with Rogue at all until this revival. Not everything should be accurate to the comics.
It's a pretty realistic story arc actually. It happens a lot with young people nowadays. You probably just don't get it because you're too old to understand the issues of today. In any case, she did choose Gambit in the end. It was just too late, which was the entire point & tragedy of it.
Bro nobody like that arc in the comics, we don’t care if it’s realistic. I don’t see a single person that likes rogue for doing this lol. Everyone was just sad for gambit death, nobody cares about her pain
Gambit had every right to be angry. He adored rogue and loved her that he did not care about the outcome if she touched him. But she was needy and wanted someone to touch and magneto was there.
Yes she is spoken like a true narcissistic sociopath saying that he doesn't light up her life when she flat out lied that's total BS and I understand Rogues point of view but never should have treated Gambit that way.
That’s why I was sad for gambit death not her finally coming to senses and feeling pain after his death. Like go find the corpse of magneto and cry for him
I totally understand that Rogue fell in love with Magneto and dumped Gambit. I'm sorry for the French scoundrel, but it was inevitable. The poor girl hasn't been able to have skin contact for years and that's rough as hell. Plus, Magneto treats her like a princess and our beloved southern tomboy has a feminine touch and can't help but delight in things like fine dresses and palaces. Seriously, look at her face on her date with Magneto. Her cheeks are as red as a tomato and her eyes are shining like stars. I have never seen Rogue so happy and joyful, which makes what happens next that much more heartbreaking.
And she deserved it. Do you think that it was easy for Gambit? He was also unable to touch her. He still loved her regardless. She should either get back with Magneto or live with the pain of losing Gambit. She doesn’t deserve him. She basically used flying for the last five seasons, only for her to leave him just because she was horny. There’s a reason people like her end up alone

Watch the series then you'll understand

I Feel Bad For Gambit
Time out ain't his power able to let him touch and etc or is that wen he beyond Omega level confused 🤔
Seriously marvel is just turning into ntr world
Hold up, why not just wear the collar from time to time?
People take physical touch for granted.
Real Sigma
This would never happen.
they remind of Louis and Lestat. much more healthy, but just as much passion.
I mean it makes sense that rogue would keep it under wraps when magneto is their enemy. She was barely even around him in the original

You just mad cuz it hits too real n' you want them to be happy.

We shouldn't. Gambit deserves better.
I believe and hope in my version

See what happens when you dont hit it right.
Gambit had every right to be angry. He adored rogue and loved her that he did not care about the outcome if she touched him. But she was needy and wanted someone to touch and magneto was there.
Rogue is a bi**ch why everyone in the comment section support her 😂😂 they will feel the pain of being cheated one day 😂😂
Considering what we know, all of this was to setup the Blood Of Apocalypse storyline.
No wonder she fell for Magneto very easily. They had a huge history before.
Does that make it right what she did to gambit. Still a cheating terrible person to have a girlfriend.
@@GladwinAbelTo be fair, Rogue was too blind by love and when she saw the bigger picture, it was too late.

i don’t know how to feel about x men it’s just so like sad and good at the same time it’s eating me up
Rogue is acting like an ungrateful B right here.
Like go find the corpse of magneto and cry for him
She basically is a molestation victim so her mind is kind of warped.
@@brandonwilliams5526 lol you don't understand what either of those words mean. A "narcissistic sociopath" would not be crying.

F this show bro 🤦🏽♀️
Magneto groomed Rogue, yikes
I can’t be the only one who likes Rogue and Magneto relationship.
