Susan Quittmeyer (Nicklausse) and Tatiana Troyanos (Giulietta) in the barcarolle from Tales of Hoffmann from a performance at the Met 1988. Conductor: Charles Dutoit
They need to do a full blown documentary that's at least partially widely released on T.T. She's a true New York/American success story. She came so far. It was unbelievable.

Early 2000s and some of the productions at the Met are the only existing old set/directors productions left. And the singing sucks now too. They let it happen. They thought it would progress. But like modern art, it's crumbled.
@@smurf902 on purpose. What was once considered bad singing is now considered good singing. So great singing is the exception because it is much easier to be lazy and suck and get cast than to be great and make everyone else look bad and have to work harder. And these new productions are expensive and god awful. There’s hardly anything on the stage and when there is, it’s the last act of Götterdämarung taking place in a drained in-ground swimming pool. And I mean that literally. Beyreuth, a few years ago and the singing was atrocious. That and people thinking Andrea Bocelli is opera. Lord, take me now.

The magnificent Tatiana. The most outstanding singers (for me) are those whose voice you recognise immediately. Troyanos is one such vocalist.
So luxurious Voice, so much vocal surplus in everything she sang...
Tatiana Troyanos, sempre maravilhosa, um mito!🇧🇷❤️👏🏾

Sublime
Tatiana Troyanos siempre espléndida. Que voz aterciopelada y llena de sensualidad.!!
Grazie Lohengrin della splendida musica

What has happened? Everything is so sad and cheap and there’s no singing.
