- In this video, I will show you what to do when your smart key battery is low. It is a simple procedure. You start your start the car the same as usual but bring the key next to the Start/Stop button.

If you have the security immobilizer, you need the place the key beside the start button and drive. You can duct tape it on the start button for convenient until you change the battery

I'm going to need to show this to my wife she just bought a 2022 HRV I have the spare key and it does have this feature I'm always a little paranoid about keyless ignitions what do you do if the battery gets lower weak hopefully you don't let it get so weak it won't start LOL.

This is a life saviour video 👍🏻 thank you, the car did start. But after driving for a few miles it indicates “No Key” but the car keeps running fine.... just wanted to check whether any possibility of the car getting auto ceased because the key isn’t getting detected
From what I know, the car will stay running until it is shut off. But, I cannot say for sure since I have not tested it myself.
I have a 2014 Honda Odyssey and I had experience this before and the car will stay running till it’s shut off… and if you want to turn it on again do the same process till you get the new battery…

Do you know how to reprogram the keyfob? I replaced the battery on my keyfob but now it does not want to work. I'm currently living oversees right now and Idk if I can get a replacement keyfob from the dealership I bought from back in the states
You should not need to reprogram the key. 1- double check to make sure you put the battery in the fob correctly. 2- Is the car battery good?
On newer Hondas, to reprogram the fobs, you will need the Honda HDS.

That appears to be a different issue. It might be the sending unit (fuel pump).
Does this work for the cousin, Acura also?
Yes. Some of the newer Acura will have a message that will tell you to hold the remote near the start button.
I brought a new 2020 Honda Sport HRT, put a new battery in my Key Fob because when I would click the doo lock twice it wouldn't Chirp? The new battery didn't fix it. What do I do?
1- double check to make sure you placed the battery in the correct orientation. 2- test with your other key fob. 3- the the car battery good? Hope that helps.
Hello! My Smart key is not working after using key on Honda Fit Ge-6 2009.How can I reprogram my smart key?
you can try this...
Each step must be completed within 5 seconds.
1. Sit in the car with all doors/trunk tightly closed
2. Turn the key to the ON position, marked by "II" on the ignition bezel
so the dash lights come on, then within 5 seconds press the
"Lock" button on the remote for 1 second or so and release the
button.
3. Turn the key to the OFF position, marked by "I" on the ignition bezel - dash lights go off.
4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 three more times (A total of 4 times) each step must be done within 5 seconds of the previous step.
5. Upon the 4th turning of the key to "ON", press the lock button on one remote, the locks will make a cycling sound (clunk),
locks will NOT lock or unlock at this point, they will just make a noise. The
system is now in programming mode. Do not turn key off.
6. Within 5 seconds of entering programming mode and within 5 seconds of each other, press the lock button ON EACH remote for a second or so and release.
This step needs to be completed within 10 seconds. Each time a remote
button is pushed, the locks should cycle.
7. Turn ignition completely off and remove the key. Step out of car
and close door.
8. The remotes should be programmed and should
work. If you have a trunk/hatch release, the button for this feature
needs to be held for a few seconds before the trunk/hatch will
"pop".

Will this work for a 2017 Honda Odyssey Touring?
Yes, it should work if the battery on the remote is low. If that does not work, you can try: press and hold the engine start/stop button for about 15 seconds WHILE pressing the brake pedal. If you tried the second option, there might be an issue with your starter.
I asked Honda how to start the car if the valet can't find the transponder. They said hold the "key" up next to the button and push the button. Are they full of it?
The transponder is what allows the car to start. Key is to lock/unlock door or glovebox.

It should work with most modern Hondas and Acuras with the Smart Entry.
This is no problem, real problem is when your car battery is dead because then even this key don’t work, what todo then???

You cannot start the car with the key because there is no spot to insert the key.

Make sure the car is in Park. Press the start button. Then try turning the steering wheel left and right.
What If there's is no fob just the key. How do you start the car?
Did the car come with the fob? Or did you lose the fob? If the car did not come with the fob, then your car will start using the key. Or if you made a copy of the key, then you would have to have the dealership reprogram the key.

@@felicitygreat sorry to hear that. You are probably going to have to go to the dealership. From what I recall, I think it the dealerships has Honda HDS (Honda & Acura Diagnostic System) that can program the fob.

the key is for locking/unlocking the doors and glovebox only. If you put the transponder/fob near the start button and it is not detecting it, there is an issue with the transponder.

If the battery in the remote is low, the remote start will not work. It might work if you are standing really close to the car. It depends on how low the battery in the remote.

Not all 2019 CR-V has the "Smart Entry Remote". It will work if your CR-V comes with a remote that looks like the one in the video.

@@GodFirst701 the you should hear some beeping sound and the Start/Stop button flashes. IF no beep and no flash, it is some other issue. It may be that your car battery is dead.

Your car will still start even if you take out the remote battery. Did you drop or damage the remote?

The Accord Hybrid does not have a key hole. It is keyless start.

1)If the beeper sounds, there would be a message on the instrument cluster (in front of the steering wheel) "To Start, Hold Remote Near Start Button message" appears AND 2)the indicator on the power button flashes 3)the READY indicator does not come on. Touch the power button with the H logo with your remote.
Make sure there are no other remote near by.
