  • This episode, I review a travel exclusive Glen Grant 15 Year Single Malt Scotch bottled at 50% ABV and labeled Batch Strength 1st Edition. I acquired this bottle from the Larnaca International Airport Duty Free Shop along with the Glenmorangie 12 The Accord, which I reviewed recently.

Terrific review!! This is a Speyside I would really love to try! It sounds like a scotch that I would enjoy a lot! Hey full time travel sounds fabulous! I’m always on the hunt for enjoyable Speyside single malts! My preference is peated scotch but there are so many fantastic scotch whiskies to try and I like to experience different ways of enjoying scotch! Experimenting is fun! The Whisky Enthusiast has just put out a new video about a newish Dornoch whisky! Sounds interesting! Cheers!! Stay safe travelling and be well - you and your wife!!

Thank you, Christine! I've gone through so many whisky phases over the past 30 years and I'm sure my tastes and favorites will continue to evolve. The only way to find out is to experiment and I love people who are on board with that.
It is impossible to have a collection when I'm on the road, but I have had more access to different whisky expressions in each country. Here in Hoi An, I haven't found a liquor store that's well stocked yet, but I have a couple more weeks to search. Cheers and enjoy your whisky journey! Cheers!

I enjoyed the Glengrant 18. I got an interesting pineapple note

I enjoy this too. I would agree with some sweet orchard fruits with citrus on the nose. I was surprised at how spicy it was, but also enjoyed a bit of water to help smooth it out.

I’m glad you noticed the spicy notes too, Jon. Cheers!

I remember ralfy giving it a terrible review- however, for the price, I really enjoyed it. Apple pie delight.

For me this Glen Grant expression was malty and spicy. I didn’t pick up any dark chocolate at all. It was my first exposure to the distillery and I was not happy. I’ll try it with water next time but for me it wasn’t worth the money.

The dark chocolate was subtle, but there for me on the finish. I'll give it another taste tonight at full strength to see if that note's still there. Cheers!
