There are so many type beats now and most of them uses the famous chord progressions, so most r&b type beats sound so generic (not having any distinct sound, bland, predictable), I am not even a producer but what helped me find unique sounds for r&b is look for piano pieces online/on youtube, and make alterations that would make them sound ingenious and new. That way people would feel as if they've heard it before but what they're actually hearing is the famous chord progression, you just extended/revised it in some way that you can call your own sound. This makes it so that your song sounds familiar yet new and fresh. This helped me a lot because I am not so good with keyboard and theory in general, yet my chords sounds so expensive and pro-sounding, thanks to all the piano pieces I found online. that way you are using the chord progressions they used but at the same time you made it in your own rendition.
Great job on getting the message across. I find rnb to be now days to be the new lofi type beat at least with the artists that I’ve been working with they gravitate towards those more and add their rnb vocals. It’s a really good combo. Thanks for sharing!
@MelloDeeBeats , we would appreciate if u show us how to edit instruments with effects like delay.... to be more pleasing , because im struggling with that special with guitar beats . it doesnt sound like i want it , and thank you
That Drake drum pattern is my favorite. Sounds kinda like a submarine haha I wonder what happens if you mix all of these styles together. Could turn out pretty creative!
people already have done it! The live drums and trap drums together create a really nice vibe. Some songs have live drums in the intros and/or post hooks/pre hooks and trap drums on the verse and the hook
