Fun Fact: Several reactors are saying that its exactly like the other camp i.e., burned up. If you watch the documentary, you’ll find out that the Norwegian outpost scene, early in the movie, was one of the last filming sequences because the American outpost and the Norwegian outpost were the same site. So you see it burned up later in the film and then the result early in the film. Save some money.
Amazing ending in one of the best movies of all time. Seen it 30 times and more. 100% commitment from the cast, incredibly atmospheric. Just love this movie. And now I live in a shack in the woods and when the wind howls it sounds exactly like the atmospherics at the Norwegian base.
Well, there you have it my friends, this reaction series has officially come to an end after almost a year. I really had a fun time watching these videos. Definitely one of the best reaction complications out there. I would love if you did more reaction complications to classic movies. These videos really deserve more views and attention than they get.
Technically a team effort between: the Producers who believed the story of The Thing was worth making into a movie Universal Studios John Carpenters vision and talent the cast the production crew the viewers in the 80's who made it popular then our reactors reactions on youtube today and an editor to put all of their hard work together into something that gets even more out of the story and if no one watched these compilations, they wouldn't have made it to Part 10, so everyone who watched this series played a big part in its creation

I just binged watched all of the videos! I love the reactions it’s probably how I reacted when I saw years and years ago . The Thing is a movie masterpiece in every way one of my favorite movies of all time. You should do one on Aliens I would love to see the reactions for that one
Born in 1981. Saw this the first time with my mom in betamax when I was 11. This was the day after we watched The Exorcist the day before and was still recovering from being scared as shit then watching this made the week sleeping a bit hard. Mom loves horror movies. I appreciated this move more as I got older. Made me miss pratical effects now and then. Glad to see a new generation get exposed to this classic.
And this might be your masterpiece... Huge respect to you for taking us all on the journey - I know exactly how much time you must have put into making these videos, and I take my hat off to you for it. What you've done here really elevates the whole reaction video 'thing' into something bigger and better
30 to 40 hours minimum per episode close to 500 hours in total im estimating if u include the time it takes to find and import the reactions and proofing.
It is nice that people are like “wtf where were you?” No one believes Child’s would run around in the dark in search of Blair, worse not go to the rest of the team and tell them, leave the place unguarded.
I think it should be said that John Carpenter (initially) considered this ending to be a happy one. Because even though they both died, the ended up saving the world.
Such a masterpiece. Everything about it.... The music, the actors, the suspense, the freaking amazing practical effects and creativity, the originality of tone, the paranoia, the twists, and the genius of the set of the story, taking place in such an isolated area.
Best damn thing I've seen on RUclips all year. Thanx for putting in the work. When the Thing first came out it was bashed but I knew it was something really, really special.
If the door to the shack where Blair was, was bolted from the outside, then that mean the thing broke in and got to him. I don’t know why they didn’t realize that.
I just binge watched all 10 videos. Well done! I've seen most of these reactions before, but this was a LOT of fun anyway! I discovered reaction videos bc of this movie, now I feel like Ashleigh, Natalie, and Mel are buddies. Subbed to Octo by video 3. If you can find it, there's a video game that continues the story. It was on PS2 and Xbox. John Carpenter was involved and he says the game story is canon. You find out what happens to Childs and MacReady in the first few minutes of the game. Thanks for the memories!
Remember when the guy said not to drink or eat after each other. Child’s drank from MacReady’s bottle at the end of the movie. I believe MacReady was testing him. That was the reason why he smiled at Child’s. Child’s was The Thing. John Carpenter stated that he wanted to end the movie with the audience wondering who out of the two was The Thing. This is the reason why this movie withstood the test of time. Classic.
Great series of video reactions friend, it was very entertaining to see all these reactions together. You should also do one of "The Thing (2011)", it's interesting how viewers realize it's a prequel.
An ending was written but never filmed. They were rescued somehow and both are in a hospital recovering from exposure and they both pass the blood test.
This film I watch with my dad all the time a great father and son movie. The way the movie ends really makes your mind wonder on how do you think the aftermath is. I can't think of any other kind of movie that does a scene so well like this one.
40 years later, I still feel cheated not seeing Nauls' death. Does anyone else here feel the 12 men in this movie represent similar personalities to the jurors in 12 Angry Men?
"Was Childes a Thing? Was Mac?" The question _is_ the answer. The paranoia at the end is what you're supposed to feel. If you don't know, there's your answer.
Conspiracy ending: when Mcgready was burning the camp down they were using molicov cocktails. Which is what he handed childs. Not booze, but a booze bottle full of fuel. And thats why he laughed when childs takes a drink.
I love the people who get annoyed by the ending. Don't know why some people need everything explained to them. It'd be so much worse if they tried to tie up that loose ending. Suspense is such a huge part of the movie and that's exactly how it should stay.
Got to love the musical score. Simultaneously the best and worst, consisting of only 2 chords with no other musical score anywhere else in the movie (the kitchen radio is part of the movie but not part of the score)
Mac got that alien body out from an icy firepit at the Norwegian base to the helicopter somehow without a hazmat suit, he could have rigged the blood test, and they kept finding his clothes ripped throughout the movie, I would like to think he could have been The Thing all along.
Here is something that will make you question the ending. What Macready is holding is not a drink but a molotov they were making earlier, and The Thing drank it like it was water and MAC smiled.

For those ones who didn´t watch the 2011´s movie after read any note warning that is a bad reboot, just know that the 2011´s movie is not a reboot but a prequel movie. In the script you will know everything that happened on Norwegian Station. The end of the 2011´s movie is directly connected with the beginning of 1982´s movie. A lot of people don´t know about this. Give it a chance and watch it. About the final scene of the 1982´s movie, there is a game released a few years ago that describes who really is infected. Best regards to everyone out there from a nostalgic fan (here at Belo Horizonte City - State of Minas Gerais - Brazil) of this amazing movie (just 8 years old when this cult and classic film was released one week after E.T in the same year). Glad that years after the public and new generations have discovered it and how outstanding and ahead of its the time the script of this great film is placed.
